The most interesting part is the Friends List notes.

In addition to its current functionality, the Friends List will now allow players to add Battle.net accounts (Real ID). Players will have to confirm that they are friends in order for a Real ID to be added. Once Real ID friends, players can communicate cross-game, cross-faction and cross-realm.

A Broadcast window has been added to the top of the frame. Players can use this to broadcast a message to all of their Real ID friends online. This message will also be displayed under the broadcaster's Real ID information in each friend's list.

I see that like an option to arrange multiboxer cross realm and cross faction battles with relative ease.

Now if they allowed Real ID (whatever this is) friends to join cross realm raids then that would also be really cool PvE feature and I could only see it as a 25 man raid full of boxers.

Would be great but this will never happen. Blizzard makes to much out of transfers

I'm really looking forward to this. It's going to be neat to be able to friend people and talk to them all in game, no matter what server they are on.

I feel tricked, swindled, bamboozled and/or hoodwinked by the subject. As Zenga said, it's just and IM.

Blizzard can't possibly make that much off transfers, they just aren't that common. Transfers are in place so people don't quit when looking at the prospect of leveling up to 80 if they want to switch servers to be with friends. The fee is in place to prevent people from switching wildly and destroying servers. The main point of transfers for Blizzard is to keep gamers happy and keep that recurring revenue coming in.

Actually, I could be wrong, but I do believe I saw them mentioning cross-realm raids ala dungeon finder-esque groups.

But then it would still be limited to battlegroup still.

I hope they don't use your Battle Net email, as your user name.

The user name for an account is one of the best parts of security.
Guessing two alphanumeric fourteen digit/letter sequences is much harder then just one.

They do. You have to give your battle.net email to your friend in order to be added to his friend list. But the email doesn't seem to be ever shown anywhere or recorded afterwards.

Everyone is getting way too excited about this feature. The real ID feature is supposed to be for RL friends. There are only a few people that play Wow that I would even consider giving this information out to.

I agree, I really wish it was something other than email. I have a lot of friends I would like to chat with across realms/games, but don't want to give my email address to.

Am i one of the rare multiboxers that does not like to be social when he is playing wow (moreover, that likes to be left alone )?

Oddly I find myself *more* social when I'm boxing than not.

Boxing, I am not frustrated by the abject stupidity of my teammates or more or less forced to interact with people who are not capable of even the simplest tasks in order to do things in game. Because of this, I'm more likely to chat with people, be in a good mood, etc. It basically becomes a single player game that includes a chat client.

I also like boxing with a friend from work - I run healing and DPS, he runs the tank, we kibbitz and chat while running dungeons.

I have a similar concern. I don't want people to be able to find me on *ALL* my characters. Sometimes I create characters so that I can play without people knowing. From what I've read, it's an all of nothing thing. I'd love to be able to exclude some of my characters from this so I can still "get away from it all".

I also wonder if you can revoke it. Despite our best intentions, even real life friendships change. Let's hope you can remove people form this list if you have to.

Also not a fan of sharing the Battle.net email. I've taken the time to get email that are only used as a Battle.net user id.

I think a lot of people are missing the "optional" part. It has to be a mutual agreement, so really anyone you don't want to have the info, doesn't have to have the info.

There will still be (I hope) a friends list.. but there will also be the Realid extension to it.

Am I able to set my status to show my Real ID friends whether I am online or away?
You are always able to set your status to show whether you are online, away, or busy. Any Real ID or character-level friend on your friends list will see your online status. Beyond simple online status information, Real ID friends will see detailed Rich Presence information (what character the Real ID friend is playing, what they are doing within that game, etc.) and will be able to view and send Broadcast messages to other Real ID friends.
I'm assuming this means if you don't want someone to see you online, you can turn it off.

But even then.. its still not something you go throwing out willynilly to people.

I can talk to ally now?

"Yur just another corpse on the pile, and far from the best smelling one I might add."

"Yur just roadkill on DeathWalker's Path to ultimate victory."

"Is that your regular gear or are you on a corpse run?" (makes more sense in EQ lol)

"You know for someone with a 6K gearscore you die kinda fast to 20 Lightning bolts and nine living bombs."

"Tell your Master not to send any more of his feeble minions to die at my feet!"

"Only the BRAVE or the FOOLISH dare challenge TeH MIGHTY DEATHWALKER!"

Nope. I would think many people multibox to not be tied down to a guild and other people's needs/wants. That was one thing I always hated people spazzing if you weren't at their beck and call. Then there's the pugging... Do I even need to say more?

I'm pretty much a loner on WOW now. The way WOW is set up where people have a constant tab on you and where you are just sucks. Had my share of stalker experiences. Or the friends who message you the instant you log in and then locked into a neverending conversation until you log out.

I like to stay logged in and go AFK to do housework or whatever... So tired of the friend 'WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME?!' tripping out because I'm AFK. Just eventually makes me mad.. Or anywhere you go 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?!?!' Maybe i'm just too old and set in my ways I dunno.

Honestly though I am a nice guy and can be very social lol... Just as far as WOW goes I've had a lot of bad relationships with weird people.

What's the point of chatting with them if you can't play with them. I rather use vent than this new feature.

I've found "why don't you love me" stalkerfriends go away pretty quickly if you ignore their attempts at melodrama.
