Well after 27 deaths I was finally able to kill Marrowgar. I would like to thank Theradin and Mercuio for their help and strats on getting him down.

Here was my strat for anyone looking for ideas to take him down.

I used 3 healers 2 priests and 1 druid. In my early attempts I was using only 2 healers and micro managing my heals. Instead this time I went with 3 healers and made click macros for the healers that would keep up renew and pw shield on the tanks, circle of healing and PoM on every cool down. Then for the druid I did wild growth on every CD and then had a macro that cycled through the raid and cast rejuv and lifebloom.

After setting this up the only healing i had to manage was a few greater / flash heals on the tanks and spamming holly nova during bone storm.

I had everyone follow my tank and run in and parked everyone in the red circle under Marrowgrar. had one button that /target bone and then fast dps spell on each caster to take the bone spikes out.

grats man! i know the feeling what it is being stuck on a boss, keep wiping, no longer believing in it but then all in a sudden everythings goes smooth and you just do it like planned.

now up to saurfang!

WOOT! Big congrats FailTrain!

Sure is nice to get him down after quite a bit of time planning and wiping. Interesting that you have your guys just /follow the tanks in. When I tried that Marrowgar would always manage to cleave my non-tanks and I'd end up with 6-7 toons left 14 seconds into the fight.

It is kind of neat that I use a different strategy from Theradin's videos and it sounds like you use a different strategy than either of us. So I guess there are multiple ways to skin this cat.

Now you need to get Deathwhisper down!

Again, congrats!

I am also anxious to down this guy, but I knwo my healers are ill-equipped to take him yet.

What sort of gear shoul;d my healers in particular have for this fight? I will be using 2 priests and a resto shaman. Resto shaman on MT and priests on OT and raid.

Right now their gear is not great, maybe 4pc t9 on one priest, 1 on another, and 3 pc on my shaman, I think? My healers are hovering under the 5k GS area, and I have lots of upgrading to do, but what kind of gear do I need to put in viable attempts?

You are more than ready. With the 15% buff the gear requirements are a joke. This is purely an excercise in execution. I would take 2x replenishment (to keep as close to 100% uptime as possible) as your mana will be an issue the first few times. If you use the tactic of dpsing inside marrowgar you can reduce the amount of healing needed significantly (as cold flames dont hit you)

Dont forget mana pots, mana tide and JoW and you can melee marrowgar for mana in between heals

I only had them on auto follow to get everyone in range. Once I got to his hit box I had my tanks strafe right and move up and my "cluster" strafed left and moved up until they were inside the red circle but still facing the boss. Maybe I just got lucky with the cleaves. Watch next week my first 5 wipes will come from cleave!

Your healers are more than ready. I can't say specifically how much gear you'll need, but when I started I'm pretty sure my healers were below 4600 gearscore, having mostly ilvl 232 pieces and a few pieces below that.
