I'm not sure exactly what's started this but here's what's going on.
Sometimes while swapping windows one of the window will get stuck minimized and won't maximize. There's nothing I can seem to do about it other than exiting WOW/reloading character set again and the repeated logging in X5 is getting to me a bit. Not only is the window stuck small it is also out of sync with my mouse repeater regions when the bug occurs. Last but not least the video can also become garbled up in that window, very blocky like an 8-bit game.
This is just something that's started recently anf has become more and more frequent.
My suspicions are Spybot, or one of the newer addons I've installed. They were all installed at the same time so I'm not sure exactly which one it is or if they are even involved.
Some of the newer addons I installed are-
NPC Scan
NPC Scan Overlay
Gearscore Lite
Badboy
Gatherer
Tomtom
Routes
Other addons I use/used prior to the problem:
Bartender
DBM (Deadly Boss Mods)
Decursive
Healbot
Quartz
Jamba
Mikscrollingbattletext
Xperl Unit Frames
Anyway I'll try and figure out what's going on. Just hoping someone might know off the fly why this problem started.

I have had the same thing happen to me a few times, you can cause it in Windows 7 by clicking the WoW icon in the task bar to minimise it and it will stay locked in its smaller state unless you remove windowed mode.
I don't have spybot so I doubt its that, then again, I doubt it's any WoW add-on, more likely an OS thing.
However if you close the affected window and re-launch your character set, ISBoxer should see that the others are still open and only re-launch the one you closed (which is awesome I might add)
Anyways, you're not alone, i'm still trying to figure out what causes it as well! (when I don't do it by accidently clicking on the icon in the task bar)

Thanks for that tip. I did not know that relaunching the character set would work like that! Nice that'll help a lot.
Yeah it always happens when I am switching windows too quickly- the window I switched from will start blinking in the taskbar also. It might be WOW crashing too because I generally get the WOW.exe has stopped working message end task pop up.
My OS is Windows Vista and just to throw it out there I use an Nvidia Geforce GTX 285 video card.

This happens to me occasionally as well. Not every time... one out of 3 maybe. Only it locks up my whole OS (Vista64 Ult). I have to go into Task manager and end the WoW session. However, it has always worked the second time I launch. Did you set up your own screen regions? I had to make my own regions, and I thought maybe that had something to do with it.

I have come across this bug in windows 7 too. it happens when i alt tab or use the task bar to bring other windows like a non boxed instance of wow or internet browser to the foreground.. occasionally the bugged window will still come to the main window slot and the resolution is screwed , as in wolfenstein 3d screwed :0

After I close the messed up window things relaunch with no problem. When I set up my screen regions I just used the Wizard. My Windows Vista is the 32bit version btw.
So we have 3 different OS' experiencing the same problem which makes me think it might be a bug in ISboxer itself. What you guys are saying sounds identical to what happens to me.
At least it doesn't happen THAT often- but it sure can happen at the worst times- lol. Seems to come and go really. That one day it was happening over and over for some reason.
I'm working on a fix for these issues for the next ISBoxer update

That's why we love ya man!
Pretty strange it hasn't happened to me for 2 days now... As I mentioned it comes and goes without any real clear cut reason. When it shows up it generally happenes again not long afterwards.
I'm know you know better than I Lax but I have my theories. Another issue is when launching the character set only one WOW will launch. This seems to happen in conjunction with the window resize error. After a reboot they will go away usually which makes me think something is hung up in memory.
Just trying to give as much info as possible to help :)
np, thanks for providing the information you could.
On the subject...
I spent the last few days rewriting windowsnapper, the script ISBoxer is configuring to run the window layout. Originally it was built before ISBoxer, so it was originally meant to be kind of simpler since the parameters had to be manually entered. With ISBoxer it ended up being a mess of things thrown in as afterthoughts -- e.g. the Desired Rendering Size and even the option to have a Window Layout with "no holes" (where not all of the windows actually have a separate spot when inactive, one borrows from another when the windows swap).
The new code fixes a bunch of bugs like, and specifically including, the ones mentioned in this thread, and makes some new things possible to do.
For example, in the next build there's a new option to leave window swapping enabled, but disable instant swapping (purposefully making it slow). Disabling instant swapping will improve FPS in general and make all clients "readable" (actually rendered in the smaller resolution etc), at the cost of breaking mouse broadcasting and of course swapping speed. For people who don't need either of those (or is coming from other software and wants the same baseline performance), disabling instant swapping is probably a great idea. Better still, instant swap can be toggled on the fly. After disabling it you need to switch through each of the windows to get them to reset the window, but it's an easy way to improve performance if you're going to be in Dalaran for a while and don't need mouse broadcasting or instant window swapping for a while, etc.
Another related feature I added support for in the next build is "focus follows mouse", so if Swap isn't set to "Always" (e.g. instead set to only when you press a hotkey) you can simply mouse over your other windows to type in them real quick, etc without having to click first.
Anyway, I'm excited about these and other changes coming. Should make a lot of people pretty happy :)

Lax, I'm still in the process of trying to get set up, but this sounds like a nice fix. Thanks for your work on it.
An early preview build of ISBoxer 36 with these fixes is now available. Anyone interested can come to the ISBoxer Chat Room for a download link.
Will do right after work.... Thanks again Lax.

Very very nice Lax!
When you say instant swap disables mouse broadcasting does that also mean repeater regions?
Loving all the stuff you're doing Lax. That windows focus thing I was just thinking about recently and BOOM there it is! Sorry to sound like a gushing fan but I guess I am, lol. Like a lot of others on here we've fell in love with your software and couldn't imagine multiboxing without it.
Look forward to the new build will try and swing by and grab it asap.
When you say instant swap disables mouse broadcasting does that also mean repeater regions? It doesn't "disable" it, it makes it not work right because the windows will no longer be in the same resolution if instant swap is disabled. For example if you have a 800x600 window and a 400x300 window, mouse broadcasting to the small window will only work in the upper left 400x300 of the main window. Likewise, mouse broadcasting from the small window to the big window will only cover the same portion of the main window.
If the windows are all the same size, then swap should be instant and mouse broadcasting should work, whether the instant swap option is disabled or not.
Just DL'd preview build 36 from the chat room. All of the issues that I had are gone. I was in Dalaran last night getting 20-30 FPS with instant swap toggled, when I was getting in the single digits with build 35. My BG framerate was in the 30's from start to finish. With build 35 I never got out of the "teens" for a FPS during a BG. That made the PvP hard.
With build 36 I started off losing a window to the task bar occasionally. I figured out that if you toggle "only deactivate for game windows" in the "Main Region Switcher" menu, this issue goes away. Also, the mouse wheel scrolling between windows is a MUCH easier way than "click" or "Alt-tab."
I haven't frozen up once in about 15 restarts.
Thanks Lax!
Yeah the "only deactivate for game windows" used to always be on for one window layout style, and always off for another. In the build you got it was off by default, but I'm going to change it to on by default.

Seems like a common problem. I have it sometimes and need to close all windows and go again and so do other boxxers on my server :(
Just come to the ISBoxer Chat Room and get the ISBoxer 36 preview ;) It'll be released sometime in the next week though
However if you close the affected window and re-launch your character set, ISBoxer should see that the others are still open and only re-launch the one you closed (which is awesome I might add)
Whatttt...... Thats effin awesome. wish i knew about that. lol
don't know if others have similar problems.. (itunes).. when it opens puts windows 7 in early'r mode..(aka fcks up your task bar.) this messes up your screens cause the bar now covers them or moves your screens up. (if you catch the message that says 'blah blah blah has changed' click don't show again and your task bar should be fine. (that is if you keep the taskbar hidden)
+kudos to LAX love the work.:)

I use this for the task bar in windows 7 which has had the "windows always on top of the taskbar" function removed (dumb asses , the task bar aint that great and i dont always want to see it)
http://www.aviassin.com/taskbareliminator
its free and its great!
Honestly I've never understood why everyone doesn't enable the "auto-hide" feature on the taskbar. I've done it since ... windows 95? Who needs a big-ass task bar there all the time when you can make it show up when you mouse down to it ;) Does seem kind of odd they removed the always on top option though, I agree
