more of a DK question to what people use.

Just got 2 rets to 80 yesterday, so running 1 DK + 3 Rets. Starting the gearing process, and been running constant instant heroics on my DK as a solo tank preparing.

Trying to improve my PVP DK

right now, using an old frost spec and this macro:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=3/combat Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Frost Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Obliterate, Frost Strike
/cast !Rune Strike

original source:

http://www.wowwiki.com/Useful_macros_for_death_knights

This macro applies Icy Touch, then Plague Strike, burns Runic Power, Blood Strikes twice, followed by Obliterate, burns Runic Power again, Obliterates, burns Runic Power, Obliterates twice, and finally burns remaining Runic Power. This infinitely repeating cycle minimizes downtime between abilities to maximize DPS. It also uses Rune Strike when it can.
NOTE 1: This macro will only work if: You have 2 points in Chill of The Grave, Glyph of Icy Touch, Glyph of Frost Strike, and for maximum DPS potential, 2 points in Epidemic (taking these points allows both Frost Fever and Blood Plague to be up the entire duration, maximizing DPS).
NOTE 2: This macro can easily be changed to an AoE DPS macro by changing the first Blood Strike to Pestilence.
Valid: 3.2

peeking around, I see some of your DKS running as blood in pvp? Is that better? If so, care to share any cast sequences ?

for PVE, I have been using Heyaz stuff:
http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=29794

Here's the spec:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-t...vrouwv&group=2 (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Nathrezim&cn=Mevrouwv&group=2)

And the macro (I start group pulls with DnD though):
/castsequence reset=8/combat Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, Death Strike, Blood Boil

thanks for your input

In PVP you should not be using cast sequences. Especially as a DK as your runes are on CD at different times, and some times you will have to wait in order to start your cast sequence once more or have space early in your rotation because things like blood runes are on CD.

People go blood/frost for all of the buffs. In cataclysm frost is not necessary past lichborne.

You can make fun of me if you want. I like to do things that make me happy, more than do what is "right" or what everyone wants me to do.

I like pet classes, so I pretty much 90% aim for pets if I can. So unholy down to get perma-ghoul. I love throwing them 60+ yards away and not even have to get close enough to get hit. Pet dies, no biggie, I either fight (after people are worn down), or I run.

I like the idea of blood. I am a defensive person, so I like things that can keep me alive. Other people are burst offense, I aim for survive defense. To each their own. So I disease and deathstrike about 90% of the time.

There are things I don't do much because I am not used to DKs in PVP. I do them, just not as often as I should. Rune strike. Anti-magic shield. Icebound fortitude. Blood tap.

I didn't really see anything in Shodokan's post, which you could interpret at "making fun of you".

If you like pets, then that is fine.
The game is played for fun, so do what is the most fun.

It might not be optimal going deep Unholy.
Which means some things might be more challenging, then the optimal choice.
But, we play the game for fun and entertainment... otherwise, what's the point?

I say that so you can feel free to say what you actually feel, not you have to just think bad things without saying them. It wasn't to say that others have already said anything about me. To me it is like saying, "I may not be doing it the best way, but here is my way". To me, I would want others to give their way of doing things so I might see something I like to steal from them. Instead of just doing cookie-cutter stuff. I don't really learn much from them.

Extra, but not important. I ran into a DK the other day that asked to borrow some corpse dust. I told him I don't even have any, since the minor glyph makes it not needed. If someone else shares that story, I can learn that I need to get that glyph so I don't have to worry about getting more dust.

For my rets, since I didn't put in anything about them. I like divine storm libram to make hit harder and divine storm glyph to make it heal more. I also use full heals (holy light) instead of small heals, since I glyph holy light so it splash heals everyone. Pretty much castsequence a holy light (one at a time) off each ret and not having to worry about healing is fun.

I don't know a clue about DK's. But i have a feeling Ualaa misread the same way i did.

The poster you quote Ualaa, isn't the topic starter. :) So his " You can make fun of me if you want" wasn't aimed at Shodo i asume.

I made the exact same asuption, that's why this may clear something up, which seemed odd to me.
