Is this viable for 5 boxing shamans who dont want a dedicated tank and plan to pvp with 5 shamans or any other reasons? I've seen talk and videos of tanking shamans but am not sure on its validity as of now.

I think if your doing heorics you will need a dedicated tank. I tried 5 shamans and got owned. 5 Shaman are only viable for pvp really. Maybe a tank pally or warrior tank and 4 shaman 1 as resto is normally standard.

I did some hc with a friend of mine. He was a prot pala and I played enhancement shaman. He was learning to play with all keys since before he allways used his boxing tank macro so his agro sucked. I ended up tanking a lot of the stuff without problems due my high agro.
Worked in Gundrak and COT. Guess the new instances are a big no go.

If you out gear the content: probably, if you don't: no.

Yup Supers right. Without a dedicated tank, you'd need to outgear just about any Northrend Heroic you'd be looking to do.
My first team was 5xShaman back in BC, and while it was a barrel of laughs for PvP, the lack of a proper tank blew badly for PvE.

There are vids enough on youtube of shamans tanking. It requires some work though.
Shaman tanks Lord Marrowgar Icecrown 10man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjIuMtiT4F8)
And this is a nice vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFF_zcqPwHM&feature=related) on how to tank gundrak hc as a shaman with comments.
... might be not advisable to start with it though ...

My point was actually that it is a nice 'project' to use all abilities you have as a shaman, to play it in a different situation. As a boxer you are not depending on other players, so you can experiment the way you want. It can be done, but if it's effective ... i doubt it. Is it fun? Hell yeah.
