Well .. I have the pleasure to let everyone know that you can now place orders for the 4 port USB keyboard multiplexer from Verta ('http://www.vetra.com/') ! (cant find it on the site but I have been told they will now take orders). They should be shipping them in about 2 weeks in small quantities. The model number is USB-844-BC and the price is $299. Orders will be filled on a first come basis.
This is a 4 port USB multiplexer. I have a beta unit that I have been using for a while now (thanks to Inire). Currently this will NOT work with all USB input devices. Standard keyboards will work fine along with some game controllers. G15 keyboards will not work at this time nor will the Nostromo N52. Basically the version of the device I have has problems with lots of bi-directional communications such as what is needed to initialize the N52. Also the G15 is actually multiple devices which is what causes the problem with the multiplexer. I tested this with a USB gamepad ('http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/gamepads/devices/288&cl=us,en') and it worked fine. However I had some issues with the gamepad software that forced me to find something else. The best gaming device I found that will work is the Fang ('http://www.ideazon.com/us/products/fanggamepad.asp') from Ideazon (supports custom macros with Z engine software).
Vetra has plans on looking into HUB support as well as the problems with the N52 in the future, but I don't have much detail on that at this time.
