Please do not post anything not published by Blizzard about the Cataclysm beta. This includes the metric asston of screen shots MMO-C has. the NDA is still in affect and I'm not willing to temp fate with Blizzard's lawyers. So until the NDA is lifted, please refrain from posting any screen shots or anything else that may be covered by the NDA.

The NDA is still in effect and has not changed in any way. We have already clarified this here:
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=13200617234&pageNo=1&sid=1#1

Unless we clearly state otherwise, please continue to assume the NDA is in place and in full effect.

MMO-C too big to fail.

Question though, can I link to a site which has or I have info on cata? Damn the man!

I haven't signed any NDA either, but if the administrator bear states that cataclysm related stuff is unwelcome here as long as there's an NDA, that's enough. I'll respect that rule :)

Thanks mom.

We all know SN9 runs the site and its his decision, but that doesn't mean we cant give him crap about it.

You agree to the NDA by downloading/using the alpha, it's in the TOS.

I was just speaking for myself :)

But to be fair I wrote this while having in mind the very recent case of a guy that I know : he added a few screenshots from Cataclysm alpha to his website. Links to this content was then seen on the official forums. In a result, any link to his website is now unwelcome on the official forums and his account has also been banned from the official forums even though he never signed anything. So I understand the prudent stance on this subject.

Well, I've not signed the NDA or downloaded the Alpha...

But if Svpernova doesn't want links here, I won't post anything else.
Should I take my Feral thread down, or edit the link to the MMO talent builder out?

MMO is allowed to distribute information. So i think anything they post is fair game.

Bottom line, the people who own this site are legally responsible for the content here. IE if Blizzard was so inclined, they could sue. Will they sue? Probably not. I'm not willing to take that risk for someone else.

Personally, IMHO go nuts posting this shit. Believe me, this isn't because I don't want to talk about the stuff that's coming out, I'm just playing it cautious. This site was founded on the idea that what we do is not breaking any ToS / EULA agreements and is not out to piss off the game companies or draw negative attention to ourselves. Violating a NDA is no different than Violating the ToS / EULA. Yet you may not have signed the NDA, the content you're experiencing is still under the agreement whether or not you directly signed it.

Fat Tire is right, feel free to give me shit about it. :D Soon as the NDA comes up, you can have at it. This is just about limiting risk more than anything else.

Not breaking any of Blizzards rules has been a bedrock of this community not only to give our actions legitimacy but because it's the right thing to do. If you want to see the screenshots head to one of the many websites who publish them openly, Svper and Ellay and everyone in the past has all agreed that we do not talk about or break the rules here.

Svper for pres!

Well we don't have any reason to break an NDA here when there's so many other sites breaking it to bits! Just 1 day after the alpha was out the Youtube videos started rolling in.

Super just doesn't want any trouble and I can understand that. If he allows people to just go nuts he'll start getting threatening emails from Blizz.

Blizzard probably wouldn't care.

The point isn't about what Blizzard is and is not ready to take action for, but merely this community has decided to abide by their rules, whatever they are. We operate within the confines of their rules for obvious and compelling reasons, not necessarily to avoid punishment or legal action.

Posted on MMO-C:

Cataclysm content removed from the site
Blizzard asked us to remove all the content from the Cataclysm Alpha on the site. I don't have any reason or project to be an internet superhero because none of the underwear I have look nice over my pants and I'm in the process of removing all the content from the site.

Obviously, it also means that a few rules changed for you, my wonderful users:

You cannot post anything from the Cataclysm Alpha on the forums. You can only discuss what was already posted on official sites/blue posts.
Any screenshot from the Alpha will be removed and will earn you a 1 week ban. We will start enforcing this rule tomorrow to make sure you had time to read this post.
I will track down anyone mentioning an emulated server/sandbox on my forums, find where he lives, and steal all his left shoes. You will also be banned permanently for that.
No Blizzard-hate posts either, I support their decisions even when they aren't the nicest thing for me.
Obviously, bans aren't retroactive and you won't get banned if you posted about something 3 days ago. It will just be deleted

Important - People who posted on the new Cataclysm forums should know about two things :

Your posts aren't deleted, people who worked hard on compilations will just have their posts archived "somewhere" and we'll bring them back when the NDA is lifted.
The new Cataclysm forums are also hidden for the moment. Stick to the old Cataclysm General Discussions forums and please be nice.

I apologize for the short notice, the content will be back as soon as the NDA is lifted.

Hahahaha

F'ing serves them right. MMO-C's Cataclysm stuff wasn't even in it's own hidden, *spoiler alert*, section...the content was on the front page. It probably took this long to get it removed because Blizzard had to get their EU lawyers together to send MMO-C an educated e-mail with a nice little attachment. :)

find where he lives, and steal all his left shoes.

One of my dad's dogs, used to take everyone's left shoes from the door, and deposit them in various places around the living room. Never the right shoe, and she would almost always get everyone's left shoes.

I'm going to delete this post because I think it might end up starting a flame war of sorts. If you saw my original post, so be it. If you didn't, then don't worry about it. ;) No one was quoted or called out in this post, so I'm not trying to censor anything like that.

Good day to you all!

That's funny. But if my dog was to even just consider stealing my left shoe, he would get my right shoe where the sun can't shine straight away. And he'll never think about doing it again.

It'd be interesting to see what the correspondence was like. I am guessing that Blizzard sent a friendly C&D letter and got blown off. I'd love to read the second letter they sent.

I dont know for sure, but if you use that iPhone 4g snafu over the guy leaving the iPhone prototype at a bar, someone finding it and selling it ect. Regardless it is their property and they have the right to protect it. Like the guy who found and sold the phone is under a bit of heat by the local authorities for it. He did not sign anything either, he just found it, but it goes to show that 'finders keepers' doesn't mean jack.

Same thing here and with mmo-c
