Ellay,
New forums look (as tony the tiger would say) GREEEAAT! Super fantastic fun time job!

The plurals of "Macro" and "Addon" are "Macros" and "Addons", not "Macro's and Addon's". Might as well fix the title of that forum since you have the new software running.

Great job! Looks much better than phpBB

The only thing I'm missing is a feature like the old "View new posts since last visit"

Nice, great featured forum!

Was wondering if you guys have a less bright background, this thing lites up the complete room and is a bit difficult to read here and there :) (soz majestic, didnt see this post before pming :P ) it does look very very slick!

Definitely like the new layout, it's going to take a bit of getting used to.

Initially I thought I somehow was redirected to the MSN Messenger page.

Removed my post from the sticky trim thread(replied before this thread showed up) and copied here ;p

I'd like a few more options...
1.: Minimalist forum skin options; before the change I could hide avatars simply by scrolling left and seeing just posts, now they're taking up a fifth of my window =\
2.: Simple reply/quick reply/"Basic" reply: This thing has way too many high-graphic options ;p I'd like it at home, but not at work on an already taxed system lol; fast reply = button beside reply that opens a quick, very basic textbox at the bottom of the window for you to reply through instead of loading the feature-burdened one with normal Reply
3.: Display pages under/after topic names on the thread list: like say, that Account WArned thread has 4 pages; in the current forum list it's simply a link with the option to go to newest post/last read, before the change it showed the topic name, then after it, page 2/3/4 you could click to skip to a specific page, I abused that plenty :p

All I can think of atm, I like it overall but fear what it will do at work, it sticks out like a sore thumb on my screen compared to the old look ;p

OK to see the last reply on a thread you click on the GREEN arrow next to where it says who the last person posted that will skip to the last poster

Remove Avatars and Signatures from posts, this is something you can customise in your personal settings located here ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?form=UserProfileEdit&category=settings.display')

Remove Avatars and Signatures from posts, this is something you can customise in your personal settings located here ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?form=UserProfileEdit&category=settings.display')Yeah that's all we have...I want to being able to skip straight to say, page 3 out of 6, or page 8 out of 12, or page 2 of 5, I don't want to go to the last post, especially if it's a busy thread and 8 replies have come in over 2 pages since I last read that thread.

I don't want to -remove- them, I Just want to hide them ;p As I said, at home I like all these features, at work I don't lol; the icons're huge too, the folder/paper at the topleft of the pages even in 1280x1024, I can't imagine how big it'd be for poor 1024x768 users :p Just asking for the options is all, again I like most of the changes but not at work =x

Fast Reply's my main suggestion atm, would save alot of time ;p

Any chance the forums have a default setting to open links in a new browser/tab? (Tab prefered, but browser is the same for me so I dont care ;) )

If not I'll just have to learn to ctrl-click :) .

Like the new features... initial reaction is I hate the new look but I'll get used to it ;)

requesting a "mark all topics read" button in forums like the old one had? Makes it easier to know if there are new posts to check etc.

New features are sweet though :)

Nice new features. Excelent work : )

But I have to say I'm a big fan of minimalistic, certainly when it comes to browsing at work :D

Will checkout the new profile options and such : )

Actually I was going to ask if that could be moved/added at the top.

And a link to show all most recent posts, even better if it could be set to not show any posts in the German/Zerg/etc forums.

Otherwise a lot better than I was expecting, one of my other forums I frequent has recently moved to some new software (phpBB -> FUDforum) and I dislike the new software so much I hardly post there any more. :(

if people log into their profile you can change the way the forum looks even the scheme there is anther basic scheme to choose from called 'woltlab basic'

If you have any issues please post here!!The old code tag seems to be broken. For instance, see the first post in this thread:
Target Rotation Macro ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=2454')

The code box is different, but the tag is the same.
It looks like it should work like before,
but [code] tags have turned into [code:1].

I like how large pictures are resized and I hope it handles long lines better than the old layout! :)

Looking good and I am starting to get used to it :)

Editor Issues (while writing a post):

If you hit ENTER on a blank line and then hit BACKSPACE you end up a space into the previous line.
In a long post if you use the down arrow key in the editor to scroll down it seems to only scroll 1 page then get stuck. You have to use pgdown or the mouse to get to other pages.

Not a fan of the new forum, more usually just means more to download. Of course I like things simple. Kind of like how some of you guys use the latest/greatest uis, that add's a 1000 different options, but you only use 5-8 of them at most. I'd make a comparison of Windows 2000 upgrade to Windows Vista. :P

Anyway I can go back to the old view, I'm into content, not eyecandy.

http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?form=UserProfileEdit&category=settings.displayWhile true, the basic scheme is almost identical except with a different banner. That still leaves me covered in candy-coated vista icons and a page that's very difficult to read.

Also, the new version is impossible to read and load on my iphone, which makes me a sad panda on the train. Not that my train-surfing is the target audience....

It looks terrific. And the transition was smooth and fast. Of course there are a few glitches -- there always are. But this was a very nice job. :)

added 2 links to the top right of the page,

keyclone
01-18-2008, 09:14 AM
i think the mechanism for posting is better. before, you would hit 'submit' and see a temp page.. which was a waste... and then go to your post.

now... you hit 'submit' and it goes right to your post. thanks for dropping the worthless step.

i would suggest resetting the posts-per-day stat... otherwise it will take a while to adjust to normal

overall, 5xthumbs up.. multi-boxer style

Perhaps need to make myself more clear on this, I normally search for all new posts then save the search as a link in my bookmarks. It doesn't seem to work in this software. I can live with it the way it is but this would make it nicer. :)
