After personal experience of being stuck somewhere, Blizzard should look at making more topical quests rather than grinding the usual dailies, here are a few ideas i've got
a) Gryphon riders in vanilla are grounded, you need to collect 10 ash particles to prove it doesn't affect their wings
b) Gryphon riders reading the paper and fail to ackowledge your question on when the gryphon will be riding again, you need to distract them by shouting "OMG a Bomb!", which will teleport you to a room with gnome police, quest completed if you don't laugh once.
c) Talk to a local innkeeper who will charge you an exhorbitant amount for a bed and a daralanian croissant (or anything, for that matter)
d) get a quote for a ground gryphon for a day for 10,000 gold to get home
e) reject this ridiculous quote
d) your equipment stinks! go to nearest armor/tailor and buy some temporary clothing
e) destroy the evil gnome Brown
