Hey guys,
Just wanted to throw up a quick hey to the EQ2 players. I already created a hello thread in the newbie area, because I needed to cover 5 posts. Unfortunately, i had to answer WoW questions too, which I hoped to avoid for the rest of my life.
I'm came to EQ2 from a high end WoW guild and heavy experience playing a bard in EQ1 (no twisting in EQ2!), so I thought EQ2 would be a nice fit coming from there. This game will be my first real endeavor into boxing, though I did briefly in EQ1 with 2 computers (nothing with 3rd party software). So far, ISBoxer is pretty slick. I like the way it sets up the accounts and macros and handles multiple instances. I've been playing with a few different trios here and there to see what I like. I haven't really gotten any of them past 15 or so yet (played a monk with my buddy playing a ranger to about 27). My first trio is:
Zerker
Troub (yea i know, should been a Dirge. I was thinking more about mana management for the warden later in the game)
Warden
It's not bad so far, but I tend to like casters better, so tonight I think im gonna try out:
Pally
Wizard
Fury (maybe an cleric? I chose Fury for run speed, group invis, heals, and decent DPS as well)
Am I going to encounter mana issues later in the game with this combo? I like the whole AoE groups down thing, which apparently the pally is good at with tanking. I had a few other game related questions as well if someone with more experience has some time to spare:
1. I've always liked tradeskilling in games. It's fun to create things for me for some reason. I know that tailors can make bags, 12 slots in the 20s if I remember correctly. Is it worth leveling tailoring for bags and gear for the wizard and fury? Ideally i would try to keep them 7-8 levels above my character levels to maximize the use of the crafted gear. Bags would be a huge part of this choice as well. Can you buy bigger than 12 slots from vendors? What is the biggest bags I could make with a tailor if I'm not planning to raid?
2. I'll probably do armoring for the pally's gear as well. I realize the 3rd choice should probably be a provisioner, but I keep wanting to do carpentry or adorning. Can anyone set me straight here? Which one would I theoretically be spending more on end game (my guess is food)?
3. Guilds. Is it possible to level a guild with only 3 people? I like the idea of guild halls and such. Mostly because I find 3 houses annoying (yes, I know I can set the other 2 as trustees and share a house).
These questions are more about using ISBoxer and boxing themselves.
4. Turning in quests so far has been somewhat annoying with having to change screens to do the turn ins for each person. Is it possible to mirror the mouse to do this or is the effort too much to matter?
I know I had more questions, but they seem to have eluded me at the moment. Either way, I have been reading through these forums for a few weeks now and you guys basically convinced me to go with multiple boxes. I would do 6, but my gaming rig only has a single monitor and I really don't want to spend $90/month on this game. 3 is enough for now =)
