4 lock's and a priest for PvP?

I've been playing this group in my head, and my head loves it, the burst damage must be evil, and fairly geared they surive ok aswell + warlocks look awsome ;), only problem i ca see are melee such as warriors.., anyone have any sugestions to this team setup or any advice?


The priest would do the healing, the specs of the locks i havent figured out, all 3 sound awsome to box!

I'm doing 5 warlocks at the moment (lvl 41) and they are a blast to play. Last night I ran around STV killing all the horde I could find.

This is the first team that I have had where I went on the offensive and went hunting them. (I also have a pally/shaman team, and had a pally/mage/priest team to 40)

I may gift a priest at 60 and run warlock/priest, but I doubt it. This team is too fun.

would be really fun if you hit 80 and had friends that are tanks or something then go clear 10/5mans with crazy dps.

I have a priest / 3 lock team at 63 atm, my priest is currently specced disc but doesnt have anything to do most of the time (questing atm). I instance boosted them to 60 w/ my prot pally so I dont have alot of expierience w/ the priest, I do have an 80 lock that I solo pvp w/ extensivly as afflic and I plan to run 4 locks and priiest for BGs and mabey fool around in the areana a bit. For lvling I think shadow priest would be best, I will probably respec or dual spec for instances w/ my pally when their 70+.

I've been neglecting this team...

They're 22nd level.
4x Warlocks, leveling as Demo but will end up Affliction.
1x Priest, leveling and will end up deep Discipline with a bit of Holy.

Going 5 warlocks would have been preferable.
But the ability to rez down the road makes the priest essential, in my opinion.

My half geared Discipline priest, not even full badge gear...
Does extremely nice healing and mana lasts forever on her.
Also have a team of 5x Disc Priests, which I quite enjoy... although these have gone to Mind Flay in shadow.

It will be a highly mobile team.

And will fulfill its goal of a change of pace, assuming I finish leveling them.
Still working on getting alchemist teams from 68th upwards, so they'll be high enough for 525 alchemy immediately on the release of Cataclysm (65th is high enough currently, for the 450 cap).

There's a priest+4x warlock team in my BG.

I've ripped him apart in BGs on multiple occasions (using my DK+Pallies crew). Clothies go down too fast right now. Even if it wasn't me laying waste to the team, I've sat back defending a node in EOTS and watched a single bladestorming warrior just go to town on the comp. Too squishy, IMO.

If all you want to do is beat a single rogue, just about anything will work.

It all depends on level of gearing.

The 4x warlock & 1x priest, who doesn't do that well against the DK/Ret team... how are their gearing in comparison to each other? Are they both 1000+ resilience, or is one team in PvE gear? From the comment that a single warrior can Bladestorm the team down, I'd guess they're using PvE gear or are very undergeared.

Fear is subject to diminishing returns, and you'll have at least one set of trinkets against it. But they'll have five round-round instant cast fears (assuming Affliction spec). If they go Destruction spec, then they have four Shadowfury casts, also on round-robin. The priest can mass dispel bubbles away.

Still cloth is rather vulnerable to physical damage, and the DK/Rets will be putting that out in large amounts.

There is the comparison of a boxed 5-man team vs a different boxed 5-man team, and for arena that is probably the more important comparison. But for battlegrounds, it becomes more along the lines of a random group size vs another random group size. In theory, we're only concerned with larger groups of opposition, because if we're not at least competitive against large groups then a given composition won't go far.

Forget my melee blender of doom... (although we were geared about the same during all encounters, I checked!)

Two decently played melee classes can really work over this comp. I watched it happen. Sure, you have some fears and stuns, but people can break that. If you're standing there round-robin-ing fears... then you're just playing defensive and you're doing it on a cloth class with minimal healing capability.

Like I said, I watched a couple folks wipe him out 2v5 with no issues in the BG. It's not a miserable comp like multi-hunters now, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to level, either.

Im a bitt concerned with bladestorm and melee classes aswell, it will be interesting to see as i get 80 and some gear, but if you keep your eyes open and ready with death coil/ shaow fury i think you can handel atleast 2 melee, but this comes down to gear ofc, you need to hace some kind of survivability.

I've been thinking a bit on demo spec aswell, it sounds interesting with metamorphosis, havent tried it yet, my locks are dinging 60 todday so i will play round with it a bit and see where it ends.

else it will be destro spec i think, to be able to have 2 cc's that dont share the same diminishing is a good advantage against melee, and the AoE stun/Death coil combo can be very destructive against a DK ret team i think, thisbe if you dont get death griped haha.. ^^

But yea even geared dk + pallies vs locks +priest would be fun to watch! I have my ret team, played it a bit enjoying it alot, will see what the locks can do heh else ill go back to dk pallies before Cata releases..
