Hey all, my Shamen are starting to get close to 1300 Resilience, and I'm wondering if maybe I should start changing out some gems, maybe even my chest enchant, for other stats. Here is one of my guy's armory:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Uther&cn=Prothan
All 4 guys are in identical gear/spec.
So I was thinking about dumping the resilience chest enchant and maybe also changing some of the SP/Res gems to pure SP.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
-Edit: I've already replaced a Haste/Spell Pen gem on the belt and gloves with a SP23 on each, its just not showing in the armory yet.

prio 1: get rid of the staff.that's +15% reduction vs melee.
1,3k resi is defenitily not to much resi.
5% hit is enough for pvp, so once you lose the hit from staff you'd need a hit neck or so to compensate.
I'd drop the haste and go for SP untill you've got around 3k SP unbuffed.
Needle from HC POS + protecive barrier of light or w/e it's called from emblems would be a good upgrade.
Battlemaster trinket with 150 SP would defenitily help.

Onoz, staff on a shaman is a very bad idea. Armor from sheilds is a MUST for pvp. I have my 3 slaves with more sp enchants/gems/ sometimes the trinket, with my lead guy having 1300+ resil, but if you're one to switch around a lot, its up to you.
Gems should only be 4 things, Spell pen or stamina (I aim for 75+ spell pen, but theres arguments for more) Resil, and Spellpower.
You only have 3 blue sockets, so if you want the 75 pen, put a pure blue in each, or use purples, and fill a few of the red sockets as well. Most people dont bother with the shoulder/chest/boot socket bonuses, you can fill those with just red, or if you want the resil, might as well put some yellow or orange in those sockets.
The resil cap is around 1410 or 1440, so just be sure not to bother going over that. I dont suggest aiming for it tho, as thats some serious gimping unless you are actually full Wrathful.

Ok, Ok. Sounds good so far. So I guess Haste is not as important in PvP? Because I'll be losing a ton once I make these changes.

It's personal. In arena you only got 1 healer and you're tanking A LOT of damage, any solo player would get helped out by CC or peeling. As a boxer you can ofcourse cc some aswell, but far less. So our focus should be a lot more on stam and resi then a normal solo ele shaman. Besides that they need to burst harder then our single toons do. Since we're more synced and got 4 dps instead of most 3 dps teams.
so you just don't got the itemisation you'd use for haste, since you need it for stam/resi and SP.

For what its worth - in the current season I changed out all of my gear from +crit to +haste and it seemed to work better.
Specifically in arena the biggest problem I have is having such a short window to get a volley of spells off on a target. Everyone just pillar humps (now as they did in S1, S2, S3, ect). A lot of the games would come down to all 5 of "us" versus 2 or 3 of them - basically they run around line of sighting trying to get a res off (I found what worked best was to play a special sound when any kind of res was being cast - i used "War drum" which brought a pit to my stomach =P )
We tend to over-damage a target anyways so I found haste worked better especially for a lightning bolt barrage or the classic lightning bolt + chain lightning (this got me more kills then flame shock / lava burst)
