Yeha shadows and high details, what setup do you roll with?

Is there any single PC boxers that run 5 clients with full details on all windows? The shadows are realy nice, but they slaughter my system hard. Untill now i have run my main window with max on all exept shadows, and min settings on all slaves. But as i swap windows more and more in pvp and shit i wanna have them as like eachother as i can.

What is the best way to improve fps to have shaows on? You can see my system in my user CP

I believe Zanthor has mentioned an addon a few times, which will adjust your video settings as you switch between windows.

So the active window has the higher settings (as configured) and the others have the lower settings.

I've not really looked into that much, as medium settings (but no shadows) on all works fine for me.

Shadows is the first thing to turn off to improve performace.

You have to upgrade your video card is about all you can do.

I have 6 computers with 1 character on the main and 5X7 on the others so i can run my main full everything and the other 5 computers are about middle/low effects.

Even if I had one computer I would run fullscreen as you dont have to render more then one character at a time then, but most everyone else runs tiles, I just think that puts to much strain on your video card. Of course I use dated 9800 (nivdia) video cards ....

I see, thx for answers.

Swaping gfx setting on window swap is an option, but then again i want to keep my swap speed as fast as posible.

And one more question what hardware does shadows use the most? is it solely cfxcard that it drains? i run a Nvidia Geeforce 285, what would be a nice uppgrade?

My opinion would be that its the video card only.

Here should show you upgrade path, I guess the faster the "shader" clock the better for shadows but I have no idea.

Shadows, weather and spell effects are the video card.
Most other wow options strain the CPU far more then the video card.

Yeah, I really wish they would put viewing distance on the GPU instead of the CPU. I have maxed viewing distance on the main and MIN on the slaves. Adjusting viewing distance really shows on the CPU.
