I'm not allowed to post in the group composition forum, so I had to put my post here.

I am thinking about going to 10 boxing, and was looking for a check on my planned group composition.

I currently have:

1 Prot/Ret Pally
1 Arcane Mage
1 Shadow/Holy Priest
1 Elemental/Resto Shaman
1 Resto/Balance Druid

Was thinking of leveling and adding:

1 Prot/Ret pally (for off tanking and additional buffs) (Or should I do DK? Warrior or Feral Druid?) (Maybe Prot/Holy for the pally for Tank healing on single tank boss fights?)
1 Destro Warlock (or another spec - never played a lock)
1 Holy or Disc Priest
1 Elemental Shaman (more totems!)
1 Balance Druid

This group is all ranged DPS with the exception of the 2nd pally (if I go ret). Is no melee dps problematic? I run ISBoxer and Jamba, and I know melee is possible with IWT etc, I just haven't delved into it. Ranged just seems easier to me... I originally had thought of getting a hunter instead of the balance druid, but I didn't see how it would add much to my caster group. Did I overlook something?

It will take a lot of work to level up another team of 5 to 80 so any thoughts/comments would be appreciated! I'd like to do this right the first time :)

I guess no replies means this raid composition is perfect!

Your raid comp looks fine to me. If you search around for some 10 boxing threads here you can find most of the info you are looking for.

I currently 10 box 2x pallys, 2x priests, 3xwarlocks, 1 mage, 1 moonkin, 1 shammy.

I would recommend using the same class for your tanks and healers to keep your setup as simple as possible. Also in my experience holy priests are by far the best Multiboxing raid healers.

Most fights can be done without any melee but I am not sure how the raids in Cataclysm will be.

There are pros and cons for adding a hunter to your group. The pro would be that there is a ton of melee gear that drops from raids and with an all caster group you will end up sharding most of it. With a hunter a lot of this gear will become useful. A con would be that since your raid is mostly casters the hunter would benefit less from everyone else's buffs.

I run 6 different mixed teams, 5 of them level 80 and one team is still level 71. The only classes not represented are DKs and rogues and none of my teams have less than four classes represented.

Having recently spent a while thinking about what I like the best, I would definitely go with:
1) Pally tank
2) Resto shammy or Holy priest healer (both are great, though tank heals are slightly easier with the shammy while party heals slightly easier with the priest)
3) Ele shammy (best off-healer, and for some of the hardest content when your gear is low, a 2nd toon doing a bit of healing is vital)
4) Warlock (best DPS I've found from any class, tons of flexibility)

The last DPS is up for debate, but I'd recommend:
- a hunter for good DPS and much easier gearing up (won't compete for drops with priests, locks, or shammies), or
- a mage for easy DPS, easier AOE, portals

Either the hunter (survival) or mage (frost) give replinishment as well.

One other option you could consider: replace the lock with a druid (maintaining the uber +13% spell damage buff) for the awesome +hit buff boomkins give, but that only helps if you are raiding with your team and the boomkin would do substantially less DPS than the lock.

I would highly encourage you to level mixed classes. With /click macros they are very easy to manage, are tons easier to gear up, give you more buffs, and give you lots of flexibility when you hit 80.
