I have a quad box shammy team with ISboxer. I am just setting up a 4 rogue team to level up and terrorize the AF in their home cities (bored).

I am a little confused (and new) to the melee IWT.

Using Ualaa's awesome guide.

Now we need to make two IWT Mapped Keys: #1 Melee IWT; and #2 Interact With Target

Now we need another Mapped Key, to toggle on and off our Melee IWT.

Where do you make these? A whole new keymap section? did you just put them in the default General, Control, FTL DPS Keyes, etc sections? Does it mater?

Decide how many of your FTL DPS Keys will auto send IWT to toons in the Melee ATG. I personally use DPS 1, DPS 2 and DPS 3.
Each key which you decide to use will be modified from the default, like this:
Expand the DPS Key, and give it a second step.
The second step has a single action.
- Do Mapped Key -- Melee IWT (Target... Melee ATG).

How will this affect my quad shammys team? If adding added steps to the DPS keyes?

I just started to setup this up, and haven't gone much further because I don't want to mess up my shammy team.

Thanks,
Acid

The method I suggested, works with multiple teams, and only sends the IWT to the melee toons.

The basic idea is that you'll have two IWT keys.
The first for all members of every team, mainly for non-combat actions such as quest acceptance or taking a flight path.
The second for only the melee members of your team, which you'd want to not affect casters.

Create an action target group for the melee toons, mine is Melee IWT.
Then create an IWT mapped key, which is different from the first/existing IWT; this one targets only members of the Melee IWT group.
And a final mapped key is a toggle for this second (Melee Only IWT key), so we can enable and disable the melee IWT.

Then we build the Melee IWT into our standard FTL DPS keys.
In the case of my druid team, three spam keys were plenty, but you could do as few or as many as you require.

This gets us....
a) Target a quest npc, and press the normal FTL Assist Me / IWT key, and the slaves assist and everyone interacts with the quest npc; or
b) Spam the normal attack keys, 1 through =, which also spams our Melee IWT key... so members of our Melee IWT group swarm the target, but other toons aren't affected in any way; or
c) Press our toggle key, which disables the Melee IWT mapped key, so when we spam our 1 through = keys, there is no command for the melee to IWT swarm the target.

For the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc DPS keys, I modify the existing FTL DPS Keys.

The default action is (on key release):
a) FTL Assist Me (Non-active toons assist the active toon).
b) Send the same key to all windows.

The modified key action is (on press):
a) FTL Assist me (Non-active toons assist the active toon).
b) Send IWT to the members of the group Melee IWT.
And (on release):
a) FTL Assist Me (Non-active toons assist the active toon).
b) Send the same key to all windows.

So modifying our 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 keys...
Does not change their action at all, for any toon who not a member of the Melee IWT (Action Target Group).

The normal IWT key, the melee IWT key, and the toggle which enables/disables the melee IWT key are all placed in the General Keymap, as I'd like these to apply to all teams.

Again, thank you U for a detailed response.

I understand the basics. Still having a little trouble. Found a workaround for now. I will post some screenshots where I am confused. :D

so my first post is not only a hijack, but I'm also ressurecting an old thread...please don't kill me!

@Ualaa

I too am having some issues with your original IWT guide. I thought i configured it correctly, but my melee guys seemed to totally ignore my IWT commands. The IWT button didn't even work, so that's probably it. Can you take a look at my settings and let me know if I did something wrong...

I have an ATG called "Melee IWT" and my ingame keybind for IWT is the comma ',"

Melee IWT (Do not give this one a hot key -- we will call it via a Do Mapped Key Action.)
- One Step (One Action)
Action 1: Send our Warcraft IWT keybind to the Current Window.

Interact With Target (Give this one a hot key, we will push this for IWT in game.)
- One Step (Two Actions)
Action 1: Do Mapped Key -- FTL Assist Me (Target: Current Window)
Action 2: Send our Warcraft IWT keybind to all windows.

Action 2: Pop up text action.... Target Current Window... "Melee IWT Enabled".
- Step Two (Two Actions)

Looks good mostly, except the toggle at the end.
You turn the mapped key Melee IWT on for all toons, correctly.
But can only turn it off for the current toon; you'd want to be able to disable it for all toons.
Also, the toggle will want a hotkey, so you can enable or disable the Melee IWT mapped key.

Also check that Click to Move is enabled.
This is in Interface Options - Mouse options.
Or you can toggle this in game with: /Console AutoInteract 1

Questions...
- Your in game IWT keybind is the , (comma) key. If you target something, and press comma does your team interact with the target (don't even need IS Boxer at this point, just checking that the keybind works)?
- Assuming the keybind works for all toons, does the mapped key that sends the keybind to all windows work (I believe your Numpad Delete key)?
- When the Melee IWT mapped key is enabled, do your FTL DPS Keys have the melee toons only IWT ?

DOH! CTM was not enabled. For some reason, I thought that CTM On/Off was included in one of the mapped keys. I added a CTM On/Off to my IWT and it works now.

The only problem I'm experiencing now is occasionally my melee decide to run away after the target is dead. I remedied this by using Jamba Follow after combat. Is there a better alternative for this or is that what you use to make sure your IWT Melee doesn't run away?

If you spam IWT, you will get runners.
It's just how warcraft pathing works.

You can go with strobe follow, or possibly strobe but not in combat.
I'm not a fan of strobe, especially with melee.

Pretty much, have an easy to access bind (I use a mouse thumb button, which triggers FTL Follow Me), for follow.
Or send them to the next IWT target (IWT has a range roughly 3x larger than Follow).

I don't spam IWT. Solves a lot of issues, such as constant runners and battle-looting. But when I do get the occasional runner

in combat > I tap the back arrow and reissue IWT.
out of combat > I have autofollow after combat {no delay}

Follow Strobing causes too many issues with toons facing me instead of the mob I only ever use it while mounted {including mounted combat}.

So happy to find this thread. Im still new, (4 months boxing), and I continue to solve my own problems, yet this one is eluding me...

I set IWT key in ISBOXER to 'Mousebutton 4' for step one and two. Configured keybindings in WoW for same button.
The issue I see on occasion, is, randomly they will either all target, and IWT for NPCs or all but one or two, or, worst case, only the current window'd toon will perform the action completely.

I have the same problem while group looting.

(It does work "better"?, not perfectly, when I set the IWT function to the std 'ALT+J', per the "ISBoxer for Dummies" setup)

Suggestions?

You can use a mouse button as the hotkey for a mapped key within IS Boxer just fine.
For some reason, outputting the mouse button as part of a mapped key doesn't work consistently.
But if you have IS Boxer send a key combination to warcraft, that always works.

I've got one mouse button which is tied to FTL Follow Me.
And another which sends Shift F7 to warcraft, with a variety of things there, such as a Druid macro to Cat Form if not in Kitty and then Stealth if in Kitty.

Lol, it's funny to look at an old post like that.

Something to keep in mind, I had to close out all of my wow's. I don't even think /reload worked. It was driving me crazy at the time.

I only got those rogues to lvl 10 or something, and got distracted by something else :D
