This week:
523 stacks of Saronite Ore, at 9g14s each.
Server average is 16g.

And:
Nobles deck for 3k... but will be keeping this one, so its less gold spent instead of a profit on the turn around.

I lost 3 runed cardinal ruby yesterday while trading them over booty bay. Didn't log my winterspring & tanaris AH watchers as there is never a person there. Seems like that changed since a day as someone is camping there. Bottomline: i just went to the store to get me 2 extra vanilla copies. Installed it on a separate machine , one is scanning allies AH (opposite & busiest faction) and 1 booty bay. Now hoping it pays off.

Rather spend my money on this than on a my little pony mount.

Over the last little while, the gem market has really tanked.
Average price has fallen from 150-160g range per gem to 100-110g range, for most cuts.
With enough volume (40-50 gems, under 110g), to make me not want to buy them all out and try to reset the price.

On the plus side, Saronite is also falling, with the average price at 11-12g per stack.
And Eternals are also going down fairly quick, so the costs are at least decreasing too.
But Scarlet Rubies are falling too; the spreadsheet says at current prices for Scarlet Rubies, 14g or less is a profit from prospecting alone.

Still... 90-100g profit per gem sold, is ~2750g a day, for every little time invested.
And I'll be adding five more JC's to the mix eventually.

Scarlet Rubies were selling for 20g each recently, but the market seems to be holding in the 30g range.

Cannot really complain too much; 5k per day would have been nice, but even half of that for under an hour per day... and that doesn't prevent the dailies from being run too...

I'm looking at the remainder of WotLK as time to get ready for Cataclysm.
Save as much gold as possible, and spend as little as possible.
Get the remaining five alchemists to 450 skill with transmute spec (they're DK's and have been made, and set up in ISBoxer, but are still in the DK phased area)...
Then level teams beyond 68th, so they can do alchemy immediately, with the release of Cataclysm...
Hopefully 73rd is high enough, that's the next step after the DK's reach 68th, but getting them to 80th would be better, plus the questing will pay back the cold flying that way.

I've bought thousands of stacks from a farmer for 5g-6g each. Where server price can rise up to 13g a stack.
This is simply a matter of time (X luck) = profit if you ask me. Knowledge helps ofcourse.

In the past while scanning AH a couple of times a day i used to find stuff for a couple of silver a stack where market price would be atleast several gold, or the good old Frozen orbs for 3g, while vendor price is 5g. Easiest money made.

When I'm prospecting, I check the AH prices to see if something is selling for more then the vendor value, and if so list a bit.

A few times, there have been people selling 15-20 stacks of 20 green/purple gems for less then the cut vendor price. Have made a few hundred gold in 10-15 minutes of cutting gems and vendoring, while surfing these forums.

I hope you're not doing the auto-scanning thing they made bannable a couple years back.

I'm not playing that long so i have no idea. Afaik i'm not doing anything against the rules, as it still requires me to initiate the scan. However i do that remotely as well as the buying. The reporting is a bit creative as well, but still according to the rules.

And yes it paid off so far: i sold 4 epic gems for over 1k gold. I figured that people who trade over a bunch of their gems don't look at the price (it almost happened to me) as in: they first search the AH to see if there are any others listed, if not they just click list & buy out with other toon, without paying attention to the price (as they think they listed it themselves). As soon as i detect someone is trading, i list it for 1k.

I've got an awesome deal going on right now. One guy is a pretty regular herb farmer. He mails me stacks of Frost Lotus for 300g COD a stack, Goldclover and Lichbloom for 7g COD a stack. A second guy takes as much Frost Lotus (350g a stack), Goldclover and Lichbloom (20g a stack) as I can mail him.

I basically log on, empty mailbox, COD it all to the 2nd guy and reap the rewards. It's the easiest gold I've ever made and I make probably close to 4k a week off these two guys.

Geez too numerous to mention, lol.

Most memorable I suppose would be a Hyacinth parrot for less than 100g twice and reposted it for several K. This was before thye made them epic drops - so people are more aware they have something special now.

Pets all the time. Especially the Argent pets- buy one for 200-300 on one side - transfer it to the other faction it instantly quadruples in value.

Since I've been working on the Insane title I've got a ton of deals on decks in the AH. Bought over 10 this week for less than half their regular price. It's also I guess sort of known that decks go down in value when the faire is gone and up when it is in town.
