Just a quick note, these are bound to your wow license, NOT your Battle.net account. So if you want the mount on all 5 accounts, you'll need to purchase 5 mounts.

Nice Kalros...you got in before the ridiculous queue to buy them. I hesitated on buying the other 4 and when I did I was 222nd in line with only 2 minutes to wait. Some people have an estimated 2 hour queue now. :)
I'm not really one to collect pets but in case this was a limited offer I wanted them because I doubt I'll be getting Invincible anytime soon. :)

Heh, hook line and sinker ... its amazing how much money they are making off this stuff. More over its amazing how jubilant people are about it. This mount is a badge of shame, as is anything anyone buys in their store. Mounts in game hold value because of what is required to get them, sure they look nice buy if all you did to get them was give blizzard 25 dollars instead of actually accomplish something in the game to me that completely defeats the reason we log in every day doesn't it.
Sorry to be negative but the selling of in-game items is a very slippery slope and I'm really worried what its going to turn mmo's into. Mounts are something that provide a real benefit and advantage to other players, its not huge but its certainly a benefit because you opened your check book. This just opens the door for blizzard to rip people for more and more money due to the large e-peen competition that exists in wow. I guess its genius if you love profits but its definitely going to change gaming in a negative way I believe. The fact that you guys are literally here waving your proverbial e-peens around that you spent 125 dollars on it is really disappointing to me. I'm not trying to piss in your cheerios I just really feel like people aren't giving this the thought it deserves.

Nothing wrong with supporting a game you enjoy IMO.

I've accomplished plenty in the game and will continue to accomplish more. I am not busting my ass every week in ICC10 because I want that mount, I am busting my ass because its a blast with the people I raid with. Yes the mount you receive at the end is pretty sweet, but the satisfaction of owning ICC 10 will be even greater. I have fun, isnt that the whole point? It is a GAME people.

I disagree because ......................

Very true, and when the Celestial Steed description says "Increases speed by 310%", you get the best of both worlds! A sense of accomplishment, a superior item, and a sweet look on top of all that!

I don't have a problem supporting Blizzard, but thats not what this is about, this is about them devaluing the entire reward system in the game. Much like printing money devalues your reward system irl, it doesn't make people who have money happy. But if you want to play a game where the measure of your success is your willingness to just give Blizzard more of your money then I guess ignore my post.
Keep in mind they are testing the waters right now, every time they see a mostly positive reaction ( like this one ) their going to step a little deeper. We all know their making a killing off this, no cooperation can resist the possibility of making even more money by pushing the envelope a bit further, while investing almost no capital.

I think I agree with Mrmcgee21, this is a very slippery slope, and may also be a test for the next expac. A lot of the non monthly fee games do this, blizzard is now pushing the envelope to see if they can combine the two marketing models and it looks like they may have suceeded. If the game goes this direction I think it will be the last nail in the WoW coffin for me.

I am totally measuring my 5 years of in game success to purchasing these mounts earlier today. Best move I've ever made. These 5 purchases I made will help assist my guild in downing the Lich King TONIGHT!!

I have to agree with the above statement. even though I am still tempted to buy the mounts. They are pretty sweet. The only thing holding me back is the fact that its not right for them to make you pay for the mount.

Get 5 phoenix mount like this one http://www.wowhead.com/item=32458
Now that is a nice mount and VERY hard to get due to its crazy low drop rate. Gear all your toons with it and then show up in dalaran next to some idiot who has spent his money for the paid mounts. I guarantee you that his epeen will shrink to a minimal size if you do that :)

This is LOL to see somebody on a boxing forum talking about wasting money on games.
People with means, enjoy your monies however you want.
I personally like the look of the argent hippogryphs better and will be going for those for my peoples.
As long as its optional and an aesthetic thing then im all for it...

If they sold alar phoenixes I would gladly pay 100 euro (about $135) for each one of them, but that ghost like mount... just doesn't cut it. I would like to see it ingame to see how transparent it is.
If these mounts are transparent enough to not take 50% of my screen with wings, I would buy them just to jiggle the haters :)

It looks like this mount will be pretty profitable in the coming days/weeks for certain individuals. There are some people advertising that they are paying 50k for the mount. You just buy it with RL cash yourself and gift it to them in exchange for the gold. Pretty good deal if you ask me. ;p 200 dollars in gold for 25 bucks. Who says blizzard is the only one who can make RL cash off the lowest common denominator!~

The purchase of these mounts in no ways impacts on anyone else in the game. Everyone one who sees you riding one know where you got it from.
IF they are to make other items purchasable for RL cash (e.g. gear, gems, enchants, etc.), THEN Blizzard will have walked down the slippery slope.
In the meantime, if you want to buy one go ahead, if you don't then don't. The choice as always is yours to make.

Damn you Blizzard. I reactivated my main account just to get this. Now I'm considering getting it for all of them...
The prancing... oh god... I can't stop prancing on the star pony...
BTW, where do you find out the remaining stock? I didn't see any indications of it.
EDIT: Found my answer after a bit of digging.
From Sirantus:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24261190807&sid=1
"As there appears to be some concerns regarding the availability of the new Celestial Steed mount, we’d like notify all players that may be interested in picking one up that this mount is not currently intended to be a limited time offer.
If these plans change at any time in the future, an announcement will be made to notify our players."
The queue was supposedly thrown up in response to the rush as the first half hour saw many customers unable to complete purchases. The remaining stocks were supposedly of the first batch of codes generated. Maybe Blizzard changed their minds about the limited offer. Maybe it was a gag to drum up interest. Who knows.
I still like my headless horseman's mount better than this. 3 more to go on November. Expect more RMT's to come after this. Hopefully it will not destroy the balance of the game, But who knows, the company needs more money.

So Blizzard is a gold seller now!
So Blizzard is a gold seller now!lol, yea i was kinda thinking that it was interesting that blizzard has turned to selling mounts and pets and stuff. You use to have to farm or earn this kind of stuff like the baron's mount, or the AQ mount, now its ALL about the cash, but hey it is their business so...meh...w/e...
