I think the whole leveling 32 alts to 68 just for professions killed my passion. It's a shame :( What do you do when you get burnout?

I quit for 6 months and tried Aion. Every now and then I'd do movie marathons with the wife avoiding the computer room altogether.

Take a break.

For the last three weeks or so, maybe four weeks now.. I've played the priest team twice for maybe four hours a session.
Aside from that, have logged the toons in for alchemy transmutes (15 minutes a day), and listed gems on the AH for maybe 3-4 sessions of 3 minutes each, each day.
And maybe once every week or so, buy a few hundred stacks of Saronite and prospect that for the gems.

Ironically, I still find the forums interesting and am collecting ideas on how to improve my boxing still, through modifying my mapped keys etc.

Playing a fair bit of street hockey.
Downloaded and am watching all of Star Trek: The Next Generation (into late season 2 now).
Working on my Dungeons & Dragons campaign some, have a lot more encounters ready then my players will go through in several sessions.
Started re-reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, as Brandon Sanderson is due to release the 13th book this fall.
I've not done a BattleStar Galactica or Stargate SG-1 marathon in a while, so those are both candidates for the next break.

Really tempted to make a DK team, and level them to 68th, to finally reach my goal of 29 alchemists. The Ferals are still out there, almost 80th and I'd like to really pvp hard with them too. Not to mention get the alchemists a fair ways beyond 68th, so they just need to skill up in Cataclysm, instead of level then skill up.

Breaks are good, the game is more fun after having taken one.

And if you never come back to wow after your break, you have beaten the game.

I am retrying boxing Warhammer Online.

I got the whole burnout thing too, after doing all of my emblems on my main team. Too bad I hate raiding.

I love raiding, but i can't pick a toon to raid on and don't wanna do it on multiple toons, don't have the time for that.

RTS games is what I play when I'm not playing WoW. Red Alert, Sacrifice, Warhammer 40k, etc.

I enjoy my friends on the game far too much to quit. I've already taken a 2 week hiatus. All i do is make my gems and continue to ruin the gem market.

My guild and the people I play with are the ONLY reason I am still playing. Really I think even if i quit I would still be jumping into vent most nights to say hi.
Boxing gave me something else to focus on, another way to play the game and extend my enjoyment. I have often considered cutting back, but I miss the people :/

Just play when you feel like it, as soon as you force yourself to sit at that machine your 1 step closer to walking away forever.

I bought the game day 1, I quit and started playing again 3-4 times. I didnt hit level 60 during vanilla, I hit 70 about 3 weeks before the end of BC. This is by far my longest stretch playing, but even now I take breaks. Pick a TV series or 2 to work your way through.

Burnout happens. Just take a break until you feel you can play again without getting bored.

I myself used to LOVE raiding. It's the main thing I did in the latter part of BC/start of wrath. Now I've kind of gotten back into raiding, only to have it...not fit. I haven't had time to mesh with the people/pug a lot/organization is spotty. It really makes me miss my old guild. Great folks there. Great folks.

If your main toons is becoming boring, switch to your alt, that level 80 human on the server real life that by now have full rested experience ..

take a few off and watch Hulu or Netflix. Try something different like boxing, or PvP and look for good guildies.

Take a break.
This is what I do. If I find that I am not logging in for a couple of weeks, then it's time to cancel the accounts. Anywhere from two to six months later, I usually feel the urge to play again. It's not as if there aren't other things to do when I don't have WOW.

Usually I have a break when I travel...

But usually when I get bored with wow, I will watch movies... read... go out into the big blue room and see friends.

I also have two options when I am playing the game... I can either solo play or box...

At the moment, I am solo playing because I tried to setup boxing on linux and it hasnt worked out the way I thought it would... so I am going to be setting up my old main computer again and installing Win7 on it.

For me, I tend to paintball more on the weekends. Head out to the woodworking shop I have set up in the backyard. Mess around with my car audio system, or my boats system for that matter.

When I take a break from WoW I usually go back to other games that I have been neglecting. My last break had me painting Warhammer 40k minis and building terrain for table top wargaming. Then when I got tired of painting and building I go back to WoW.

You could try taking up golf, that is what I plan to do for my next break from WoW. Golf is almost as expensive as warhammer 40k though but you get a lot more exercise if you *walk* the course.

Quit until WoW calls you back. I've been gone for a year and just now had the desire to reopen one account.

One of the following things:

1.) Play the other team, if the main team is no fun
2.) Play the main team, if the other team is no fun
3.) Play the third team, if both are not fun (which still needs to levelup, the other both teams got all the badge gear)
4..7.) 3 other teams i have to level (5 hunters, 5 druids, 5 melees, all around 6x)
8.) If i am bored of boxing completely, i play a deff tank Warrior, which is level 72 currenty, if thats boring as well, i play..
9.) My Druid, which got all the badge gear dual specced tank and healer, and if thats boring..
10.) my Priest, which got all the badge gear also in the meanwhile. And if that is boring..
11.) Play Civilization, if WoW completely is no fun (i wonder if its boxable :p)
12.) And if everything of that sucks, i go and take a nap
13.) And if i am not tired, i do something weird in RL

Dont think i forgot anything.

Bought about 150k worth of game time
9 hilts (at 10k each)
paid a few friends 10k for helping me (4 of them)

I've made over 400k total. I'm sitting at another 60. I have another 5k coming in the mail.

Last year I got burned out so I started playing the real world stock market.

Made over 17k. Up 3k this week.

I knew those AH skills would pay off :)

I have a few stocks I short on an daily basis. It is truly easy money. I have my worries for the future, but for now I am raking in as much as I can.
