The zerg

Welcome
Just wanted to make a little welcome post for all the people wanting to join our a common server for multiboxing people. A few of us Europeans have created a guild called, 'The Zerg', we roam the English PVP server Al'Akir on the Alliance side. So if you are searching a nice home for your multibox team, be sure to check us out, we already have 71 accounts in the guild, and we keep on growing larger and larger :) . There are some lower levelled groups but I think its a matter of weeks before the Empi's hunter/druid groep will hit 70. Everybody is welcome, dual boxers, triple- and quad boxers, but also (ofc) the 5 boxers. Up to this moment, we mainly accomodate five boxers, but dont be discouraged, you are welcome if you box.

http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/1953/thezergeuhm3.th.jpg ('http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=thezergeuhm3.jpg')

Aim
What do we aim for in this game? Well first thing its, having fun! And secondly killing as much horde on the way as possible ;) . The long term goal of the zerg will be pvping, pveing. Cant wait to see how far groups of multiboxers can get in the current pve content, and I hope some more of you will join our effort in completing that curiosity. But we will also be pvping our asses of every chance we get. Do I hear arena teams, 'bg premades', I personally think that should all be possible.

About the server
A few things about the server, its mainly roamed by Dutch/Belgians/English and swe/no, but loads of other nationalities as there is no real big swarm of people from a certain country. If im not mistaken horde should have the advantage in number. The bg queues below 70 are very good, below the minute is what I usually encounter. The level 70 ones have a few minutes for bg's, with AV as the larger one, about 4 minutes on av weekend, but that changes a bit right now since there are a lot of free transfers in our battlegroup and I dont do too much bg's at this moment (too busy levelling!). The server has the occasional queue, but only at prime time, and mostly only for a few minutes.

Hope to at least get people interested in joining us, feel free to ask anything you'd like, im available on my main, Los or my pally Xlos, also try Empi, or any of the main chars on the server in the guild. Im also on irc #multiboxing @ quakenet (dont have irc, try the chat option on the forum, or try the msn portal which is on the forum somewhere ). Feel free to banter anybody for anything you would want to know. Every Zerg main can invite you in to the guild, we can set you up with some bags so you dont have to start from scratch.

Thats it for now, thank you for reading and hope to see you soon on Al'Akir - Alliance

You know I'll be there, eventually. I'd just like to level my main group all the way first to get a feeling of it actually being doable. Gonna take some time, sure, but I'll be 4x/rofl-ing on A'A by summer for sure.

Would be pretty fun to join a guild I suppose :>. I'll still be leveling my current 'main' team on Defias, but I wanted to try hunters or locks/priest for a while now past lvl 10, so I guess when I get to it I'll roll some chars there.

So anyway, as long as it's ok as I play (1 or perhaps even 2 teams) rather casually, I'm definately up for rerolling there :>.

Hi guys, already have a two man team in EQ2 and am looking for a return to WoW after a long long lay off.
I am looking to start my 5 boxing career over the coming weekend, and will be joining AA.
Would it be possible to one of you guys to send me your UI, will save me a hell of long time hunting around and setting up a new UI :)

Short update (great idea empi ;) );

Up till now we have 16 multiboxers with 66 chars. The main armada is around level 10, above lvl 50 we have no members. So ideal time to add to the fun! Expect us to try out all pve content (and yess, all, i even wanna do magtheridon and eventually roam scc), but we also will rock the pvp section of the blackout region.

Also ideal server to roll on, some slight queues every prime time (few mins) but, a fun packed pvp server with ganking, whiners and crybabies. But, compared to what I hear now and there , Al Akir is one of the better crouds available multiboxing wise.

i must say im kinda disappointed about the drama on the realmforum off AA, the drama on the TVC realmforum is way better <3 aah well... lets just change that a bit once we´ll get settled :)
Drama on the realmforums is something to get through the day at work.

The queue´s are indeed pretty ok, just 2 min wait to get onto the server is ideal to start loading on then grab a drink. its just a matter off turning your normal "order" off things around.

And as Los said, ive also met a dozen players who where honostly interested in how it all works and that is not something i exspect while running around Goldshire.

A fight against Magtheridon should be fun with 5x5boxers....... cube clicking <3 <3

Hi, I I've looking to start dual-boxing, just 2 to start with to see what it's like(but have plans to go 5 player), very tempted to start on your sever but not sure if I want my dual-boxxing toons apart form my 70 plays and I can move them. I might level them on my sever and swap them when I need some one to run kara with (if you think my goals are a bit long term you should see the 5 man SSC image I have running around in my head)

Love you all and will watch how you get one. Maybe when I have my hardware set up I'll make a alt dual-boxing chars so I can see how your all doing.

Los
02-06-2008, 07:13 AM
Well personally I have that same picture, would love to do some raiding on this server and with my own and ofc other peoples toons.

(i mean how cool is a multiboxing guild doing raids, the mt has his own healers, the ot has his own healers and the dps has the same pro setup =))

One thing though, if you do setup to go raid, and perhaps want to with us at alakir, remember that changing later on will mostly be something people do not tend to do. Which ofcourse would be a shame in my opinion. Feel free to start out at AA, we can get you started, get some bags, and if im not too cranky or raiding, always ready to lend a hand.

I joined up on Al'Akir on saturday and thought i would post and say hello.

I have been lurking here and dreaming of a new PC for a month or so, I just couldnt wait and thought i would see if my old P4 could handle a tri box , Which it Can! - thanks very much to everyone here for their help all over the forum and especially to Los, Ashanav & Arad for their help in game!

A bit about me - I was a burnt out raider who quit wow back in september due to boredom frustration and the need for some real life , stumbled across an article about Xzin and found my way here. Having spent the last 6 months playing single player RTS / Civ / FPS games , getting bored of every game after about a week I thought that maybe returning to WoW as a multiboxer may work - no relying on others to group, no being 'forced' to raid , being able to log whenever I want even if my group is half way through an instance / quest (ofc I still have the options to play a single character in the 'normal' style if I wish , it's the best of both worlds)

Multi box has so far been a blast - and Al'Akir seems a pretty good server.

The long term plan is to level 2 teams of 3 -

Priest / Lock / Lock - Saintx / SinnerA / SinnerB
Palla / Mage / Mage - Saintxx / SinnerY / SinnerZ

Hopefully by the time WOTLK comes out I will have a nice set of 60+ chars to play , and more importantly a new PC capable of running a 5 box team (drop the pally for PvP, drop a lock for PvE)

Anyone else thinking of trying this out I just got to say give it a go - you dont need a PC from the future - I am tri-boxing with no probs on a P4 3Ghz , 1 Gig Ram, 7600GS on a 17" monitor so get a trial account or two and come join the fun on Al'Akir!

I might pop along and say hi, I do hate pvp servers though so would probably level at the same rate as continental drift.

Still trying to decide which classes would be best for a duo team, might try and catch one of you this weekend if I get time, would be fun to make a couple of characters with the intent of levelling them together, rather than trying to mash multi-boxing on my already there, previously solo characters.

Edit: I've chickened out and decided to roll a couple of mages on a pve server (plus I saw how many mage teams you have in guild :P )

Hello guys, I thought i should present myself.

I'm a guy from norway on 27 years and i rerolled to Al'akir / The Zerg soon a week ago.

I got a 70 feral named Lizandra and 3x lvl 23 shammys (Againstme, Agaïnstme, Agaînstme) And i also have a lvl 70 shammy at the server where i come from which i will move over later when the other hit 50+ or something..

I'm mostly into pvp and my planes are a 5v5 team all elementals and moonkin.. But now as i moved up to 5boxing i think i will enjoy some 5mans later on aswell.. So now you know.

See some of you in game :D

Too bad Al'akir isnt on my battlegroup (misery). I think there is a couple of other multiboxers on my battlegroup, but I have yet to meet any of them. Too bad, would really like to try a real duel with another 5-boxer :D

If there is another pvp 5-boxer here on the misery battlegroup, feel free to PM me and we could maybe try to sign up on a 5v5 skirsmish at the same time:)

I guess I would not stand much chance against 4 groundings (as most seems to play shammys) with my warlockteam, but it would be fun trying anyway.

I'm on Kilrogg alliance which is also in the Misery grp. I mainly focus on PVE, but you'll find me in AV a lot today.

Mixed results about 50% win/loss, but a grand total of 20k honour on Sunday, which was smart.

Maybe I'll bump into you there some day.

But I think two of my friends(hunter and druid) met you in AV yesterday. They talked about a shaman multiboxer that defended the chokepoint at IWB that they could not get past :P

Wauw, loads of people start out, and rarely people stand the test of time to hit the big 7-0 with their team. Sadly though :(. But we almost have a second group on level 70, we have some decent geared tanks, and hopefully we can start out doing kz in a few weeks! Would love to see more people come to the server, even on lvl70 to start to try out doing 25 men content. I so feel that a lot of the content is doable so lets get cooking and try it out! Hereby a cry out to alliance lvl 70 groups to join me and Lizandra on Al'Akir and go hit the pve raiding band-wagon!

Hi there mates, im currently multiboxin on Daggerspine EU. Got Pally, Priest, 2x Mage and lock on 70, and 3 x shammie on 42. I am considering moving to you ppl so i can box with some fellow minded ppl. I was thinking of transfering either 2xmages and lock, or 3 shammies. What you ppl need the most? I am only transfering 3 though, since my Pally and Priest has been in same guild and on DS for 3 years, ( RL friends and all that). Maybe ill cya soon mates.

Hi there!

Currently 2 groups at lvl 70, me and lizandra. We both have 4 shammies, i run a pally tank and he runs a druid. We are about to start kz madness so if you want to join it will be very much fun to 3 men kz imo :). Perhaps we can take it as far as going for za as well.

*ultametly dreaming of doing 25mens boxing*

Yes i would love that. Since you are 2 x 5 , do you want me to dual-box so you can bring 4 each, or what do you think? If so i think i will bring Priest and Lock. Priest is SP atm but i can respecc to holy/disc if u need healer, or i can just do alot of shadow dmg. My mage is pretty good geared,so if you need gear on your shammies, i say i go dual, if not i can bring mage also. Looking forward to some teamwork mates

All the horde AV premades are PUGs. People stand in the main cities shouting for randoms to join. Occassionally an AV pug will be based on 5- 10 players from one of the large pve guilds, all playing alt characters.

You probably need to know that AA was one of the early servers, and was full very quickly. Alot of people had decided to join AA before wow really started, and they joined as guilds from other games. In the early days before the bgs AA had a fairly fierce reputation for world pvp and Southshore/Tauren Mill battles. Before anyone hit 60, STV was a constant battleground. After bgs arrived in game AA premades cropped up on both sides and were fairly well feared across the blackout battlegroup.

Subsequently AA arena teams did quite well, but alot of the top horde ones left for an even more specialist releam ( eg klauz, Doed, Inflame, and they've either stopped playing or are burnt out).

Some of the old guilds still exist, such as East Dragons (alliance) and Dark Storm (horde). ED used to have a reputation for world pvp and still come and try for thrall, which is fun. Horde side has one of europes top pve guilds in Apex, and a couple of newly formed guilds that aim to pvp.

Thus on the releam forums, it's something of a standing joke to answer all queries with "AA is full" (it was from about three years ago). Also anyone creating an alt and going into a major city and asking questions in trade will also get "AA is full".

At the moment AA is pretty quiet as everyone waits for wotLK, alot of the top end pve guilds have stopped raiding, and alot of AA players are playing warhammer (during the first 28 free days). An example of this is that alot of players transfered into AA from a pve releam to alliance side and on the Isle go around ganking single horde players. They have made a guild called Greengill Coastguard. I expect them to be surprised by the horde players who return to AA once the expansion arrives.

After I got a few toons to 70, I got a second account, came here and dual boxed a bit, but I dont think I have the patience for it. But AA has always had multiboxers, just that in the early days they tended to be dual boxers.

Up date
It's Sunday 19th October 2008 at 5 pm (uk time) I logged online to AA I'm number 823 in the queue, and my estimated wait is 23 minutes!

Hello. The Zerg are EUs official multiboxing guild. Right here on Al'akir. Some of you might hate us. But ofc most of you love us :P

So to make this simple... We would like to add some more solo members into our guild, basicly as we wanna get into more 10 and 25 mans at lvl 80. And ofc we need more ppl to help out as a 5th in our 5v5 teams and ppl for some insane world pvp :D

So if you do know us somehow... you think boxing looks awsome and think that playing with some boxers would be alot of fun. If you are a nice and mature player. Then get in contact with us / me in game and have a chat :D

About Raf and multi boxing, once i hit lvl 80 which should be done in two or three days, i ll use it to boost 3 or 4 accounts at same time with at least one or two healers, those would be helpful to give a hand to any multi boxer who wants to focus on their dps toons in instances without worrying about heals

Due to some RL stuff I'm probably going to have a bit of a break from playing my main toons, and I'm thinking it might be nice to chat to some other MBers (rather than simply reroll on a server where I know nobody and have no reason to talk to anyone).

Thing is I hate pvp servers, so I'm wondering how likely it is that I'm going to get ganked all the way to 80.

I'm thinking of either 2xpriest or 2xshaman (which I currently have 2 at 57, but would be starting from scratch), not sure which would be best though.

Alternatively, if there's anyone boxing on a pve server (or a guild for it) and they want a little company froma not overly hardcore player, feel free to give me a shout.

The guild has gone more and more quiet since WOTLK.. several 4/5 boxers are now inactive or solo-playing in raid guilds.
Sorry to say, but WOTLK kinda nerfed multiboxing too hard - or rather gave a lot of classes counters to multiboxers in arena.

My accounts are going inactive today, and I doubt I'll be reactivating soon.
