Had a day off and had a long wow session planned today to boost my new pally/3xdk/priest team. After logging in on my main team to do the daily hc I was all exited to get grundrak, fast and easy emblems. As I pull, drop totems and kill the first snakes I hit my follow key to go whack the first boss: 3 shammies react, one doesn't react. I move over to his client and try to manually move him. Nothing. And jamba keeps telling me on my main that follow broke. Yeah like i didn't notice that at this point ^^

So i close this client, fire it up again. So far so good. Kill the snake boss and when hitting follow to go to the 2nd room: same shit. Closed all clients, did a comp reboot: same problem. At this point i need another cigarette to not throw my comp outside the window. I decide to compare all wow settings one by one. To no avail. I decide to disable all addons, .. to no avail. My next option is to compare all WTF saved variable files I think that are relevant. Can't find a thing.

I decide to do at least a random with my raiding shammy as i'm close to get the T10 chest. Did a 25 man VOA pug and the 264 T10 pve set boots drop for me. This gave me the courage for my next step:delete all addons on every client (main/slaves) and the complete WTF folder (made a copy obviously). So with this naked wow I think i'm good: nada, same problem. We are almost midnight at this point (logged in in the early afternoon).

Allright, lets reinstall wow in a clean 'native' windows environment. Luckily I had a windows 7 license laying around that i never used. After some microsoft rants about how stupid their setup is, i'm ready to install wow. The update takes ages. At 3h30 I can finally login to wow on this fresh system (as fresh as fresh can be). Guess what: same shit.

The only thing that is possible is a bug. I've done everything I could on my end, time for blizzard to solve my problem. As i'm writing I finally see what is wrong:

I have a sentry totem in my 'call of elements' totem set. And then I realized that after reading the cata shaman changes on mmo champ, one of they posters asked 'how about sentry totems'. As it was 46 years ago that i last used one, i decided to check it out. Logged off and forgot about it.

A whole day gone for a frigging sentry totem, beat that.

Thought i'd share it with fellow boxers. Whenever you do something stupid or get frustrated when your plan is not working, do realize there is at least one other boxer out there who was even more stupid at one point.

insure you have jamba installed on all toons and insure that you check off load out of date addons. load isboxer addon too if you dont have that done on all your toons.

yeah i checked jamba and every possible addon, but as i wrote beneath the screenshot i resolved the problem: it was a sentry totem. and nope, i don't use isboxer, but thanks for the effort to help :)

My shammies team went through that. Follow was broken for account2 in any team that shammy was in.
Ualaa helped me troubleshot the problem. For that shammy in account2, the call of the ancient totem was causing the problem...
I replaced it with call of the element for that shammy. Other shammies (four) didnt have that problem.

Go figure!

A thread like this is good.
It shows, we're all just normal people, like new users.
Plus, hopefully new users don't make these mistakes initially...



When I started IS Boxer, and didn't really know anything about it, I made some changes which resulted in interesting effects.

Looking at the FTL DPS mapped keys...
Each runs FTL Assist Me, and then sends the appropriate key to all windows.
Checking FTL Assist Me, it has the option (FTL Modifiers on).

So I made a few keys, for FTL Assisted single target buffing.
And instead of leaving the key on 'default' for FTL modifiers, set it to on.
Eventually some of my 1, 2, 3 etc DPS keys had the setting to 'on' instead of 'default'.
Which causes a lot of fun...
Pressing the 1 to = keys, and having 2-4 toons do the correct action.
But having as many as 2 toons doing nothing.
And different toons acting/not acting, depending on who is leading..

If I had left, FTL Modifiers 'on', for the three FTL Mapped Keys.
And left everything else set to 'default', none of those issues would have occurred.

Fun times.
But Lax got it sorted out.

Sentry totem (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=6495); when cast; swiyches between totem sight and normal sight. Totem sight means that you can't move.

Zenga, your description of the toetm is obsolete. Here, I've rewritten the description of it. Maybe I should send this suggestion to Blizzard.

Sentry Totem
2% of Base Mana
Instant cast
Summons an useless Sentry Totem with almost no health at your feet for 5 min that allows vision of nearby area and warns of enemies that attack it, if anyone ever does that. Right-Click on buff to switch back and forth between totem sight and shaman sight if you ever find a useful place to put this. In addition this totem may course your account to be broken.

You can basically click the buff and have control of your toon.
And click the buff again to lose control of your toon, but have the visual as if your toon is standing where the totem was placed.

So its a track something power.

I've used it a couple of times for mobs that can spawn in a few places.
And then have each shammy watch one place.
But the same can be accomplished by leaving a shammy at each area.

Not a really useful spell at all.

Only useful if you are trying to watch more areas than you have characters. But yeah, not really much at all.
Might be handy if you decide to camp the books in dalaran I guess.
