So I took the plunge and stopped dailying my team and started my first 80 heroic, with UK. Here are tips for those who have yet to start:

1 - during bosses, ensure that your grid/clique shift left button spell is casting [input your spam tank heal spell here] and not your [out of combat rez spell]

2 - ensure your mage switches targets after sheeping

3 - ensure your tank doesn't target sheep

4 - watch dps die on prince

5 - watch dps die on prince again

6 - wish you could slap your healer during prince

12 - give up on prince altogether until you can insult him fur-style from distance

13 - get your dps to face the right way

14 - get your dps within range

15 - heroically kill everything else relatively easily.

This is how many times I died and the reasons for dying. Having a druid healer was a MASSIVE help as I would have died easily a few times without wild regrowth. You guys make it sound very easy, I guess practice makes perfect.

Anyway, tips on prince with this combo please:

Pally tank (525 def, 28k hp)
Destro Lock (dps is low for some reason, I'll try and get that fixed)
Shammy Ele
Arcane Mage (makes up for lock shame)
Tree

Thanks

If you have 28k HP and aren't overcapped on defense, I suspect you're picking the wrong gear.

yeah i've had to fudge his gear a little to make things slightly easier (he was 20k hp last week)

I had shammy drop fire elemental to eat the frost tomb. That way i could stay focused on prince. Id get pally def capped. losing some hp to prevent crits would be worth the trade imho.

So prince was also my first heroic and he wiped me many times. One tip on him with a fresh team if you have shammys is to line them up back in the corridor before Prince's room, all against the wall. Then run in and pull him back to the corridor, then pop fire elementals, they will help a lot with the spawns.
This tip was posted here a while back and works really great if you are struggling gear wise.
Other than this, keep the tombs off your team and nuke him down asap.
For me I actually skipped him on my first team (2 warlocks, hunter and resto druid with DK tank) until I could nuke him (I also switch DK for Pally), my current team with shammies, druid tank and disc priest never had a problem with him.
I think the overall best advice though is not to try to gear the whole team at the same time in heroics, I got my tank geared first, took a couple of days doing randoms with pugs, pretty much instant grps. Then I geared the rest of the team, having a geared tank makes a HUGE difference.

how about /target frost tomb macro?

To be honest, the frost tombs only really screw you when the healer or tank ends up in one :) , otherwise you can heal through it, maybe even get the achievement :)

I run into the room, use my spread out macro a little, and pull the trash mobs.
Basically deal with these, with my tank a little ahead of the other toons.

I have three shammies on my team, but this shouldn't make much difference.
Basically, I refresh each of the totems, with the toons slightly spread out but in the center walkway area.

Pretending we are coming from the south, and the boss is on the north edge of the room...
I run two of the non-tank toons East, and face them North-West.
Then I run the other two non-tanks West and face them North-East.
Each pair of two toons is just close enough to be able to hit the other two.
Their facing is such that they'll be able to hit the boss (where the tank was standing for the trash), but can also hit the opposite side DPS.

The master (and every slave) includes /target Frost Tomb, in their SPAM - CLICK macro.
So when the tombs pop up, that's what they target.
It would probably work better for the tank to not have that in their macro, so they can still smack the boss during that phase.

I use a single Fire Elemental and Thunderstorm on round-robin, to kill trash that gets past my tank.
But otherwise focus on the boss and never manually control trash.

With a pally tank, I switch to shadow aura before pulling the boss.
Basically run most of the way to the boss (activating sacred shield now), then use Avenger's Shield to aggro.
And then run all the way back to the door (and slightly into the hallway), in which we entered... so the boss chases me most of the way.
Then turn around and run at the boss, activating Divine Plea at this point.
Then it is just tank and spank, and try to time Consecration to pick up ads, although that's not overly critical.

I haven't tried it on heroic yet with my team, but on normal the best way for me was simply to have my group following my tank during the whole fight and just slap that prince around since he has no AOE damage why spread the toons out? :)

With swipe on my druid tank I also do damage on the frost tombs.... Until I got all my toons bunched up behind the tank, I was frantically running around picking up adds and trying to keep in range of the boss.

All my dps have the target frost tomb macro so I don't even worry about it and my tank just keeps on beating on the prince. My paladin has consecrate and holy wrath, my druid swipes, and my DK has DnD and blood boil to aggro the adds. I run into the prince from the left side, because I like to keep my tank between the adds and my casters.

OP, how often do you go oom on your druid? Maybe add a castsequence rejuv, wildgrowthx2/3 to your spam button if you didn't already? If the whole group is standing with the tank, everyone gets topped off.

My first time through while gearing up wasn't very sophisticated, kept team close to tank, when adds or frost tomb came up I just aoe'd stuff (and had fire elemental up). Think I had more trouble with the duo.

My healer had decent gear though, my tank had much lower HP but was def capped. Think I was at 22k -ishselfbuffed.

Oh I kind of spazzed in the middle of the fight and just started mashing buttons, aoe, nuke, heal , what have you. So maybe you need to spazz more. hehe. When in doubt just pound dem keys!

I'm thinking now with isboxer and healbot, and new targeting macros with my click macros that fight would have much less spazz for me.

My tree doesn't go oom, he dies or other 3 dos die first, which kinda makesthe fight pointless. Other problem is I'm not the most elegent player, tend to sledgehammer anything by pre-planning moves and then whack. If something changes I'm not the most responsive, which is why I'm crap at pvp. Usually some shammy crits my pally for huge amount and instead of wondering how I'm going to heal, I'm thinking "wow I wanna shammy" then start a new team. But I digress. I'll try again tomorrow with your suggestions.

Well the key for the first boss is to position your guys, so the others can dps the frost tombs.
I like to spread them out, so at least two toons can cast as the frost tomb on the other two.
But bunching them is fine as well.
Use whatever works for you.

Grats yeah the hards part is once you hit 80 finding the easyer of the heroics to gear up in and save the harder ones for a bit later. Its one big learning curve, once you get the boss down teh first time it gets more and more easy

Well I would definetly do some heroic PUGs with my tank and leave the rest of the team behind at 80.

My own progress have been slow with my team recently because I've had a lot of fun learning to tank the heroics.

Comments like:

"Hey Tank are you retarded?" have popped up once or twice, as I don't know the instances lol. But I don't give a sh** because as a tank I have 0 que for randoms. Its instant action so if people are annoying I can always leave. But 99% of the time its just a blast.

And just improving your gear a bit will help you fight your way with your whole team. I would recon just a couple of days worth of PUG's with your tank would yild nice upgrades.

Just see how much stuff I got in one gaming session last friday (see the activity feed 9th and 10th - one gaming session) - and I still suck:
