View Full Version : Question on click macros with ISBoxer.

So was going to switch over to click macros this weekend.
But I realized I was confused on some things.
I use ISBoxer and it dawned on me I really don't understand how it does targeting, only that it works :).
I want to have the first part of the click , or the first click handle targeting.
From what I have read I can set it up with a series of target X, Y Z and i think that it will just keep whatever target is there?
So by default with ISBoxer it will target what my main char is targeting, but then will see if any of the other targets is available and if so target those?
I want to set it up for the various add names that need to go down quick, (Chaotic rift, that one guardian bug in old kingdom , etc.)
Do I simply just add a list of /target NAME?
I little bit confused , thanks for any pointers.

I put the spammed - master click macro, onto one of the FTL DPS keys.
IE, 1 through =, with a default configuration.
The keys which the master/spammed macro calls, I place on non-FTL action buttons.
If you take a look at the mapped key, we have.
1) Do >> FTL Assist Me >> Current Window.
2) Send "key" to all windows.
So the default behavior is, slaves assist the master window, then cast their spell on whatever key.
If you want specific targeting (Chaos Rift, Snake Wrap, Web Wrap, Charming Totem, etc), include that in the master click macro.
The new order will be....
1) Slaves assist the master.
2) Slaves and master change to the new target should that target exist.
3) The spam macro calls other macros at whatever target.

oh, that seems pretty easy.
so I could have the first click macro be a targeting one and simply have a list of targets.
e.g. (with correct spelling/names, not sure what they are so guessing. )
click macro #1
/target Chaos Rift
/target Snake
Click macro #2
/castsequence blah blah
So if none of the target works it would default to old behavior, and if a target is found will target that?
Thanks

Yeah I was thrown by this over the last week as I threw into my DPS' macros /target tomb for the frost tombs in UK. But I noticed my DPS didnt switch :/
So what I think Ualaa is trying to say is, your spamming macro on your tank also needs to have the /target <encounter thing>
Please let me know if I am wrong, because I was goignt o be asking this question over the next few days :) I did down him, even though I didnt kill the tombs, thankfully my healer didnt get frozen :P

The first macro might be:
/target Chaos Rift
/target Snake Wrap
/target Web Wrap
/click MultibarLeftButton1
/click MultibarLeftButton2
/click MultibarLeftButton3
/click MultibarLeftButton4
/use 13
/use 14
Have this one, on an FTL DPS key.
The slaves could have similar macros, on the same key.
So you push 1, and they all acquire the target of the active window.
And then each receives a 1-press.
Which does the click thing.
And if a Chaos Rift is nearby, changes the targeting for everyone.
But otherwise functions as a normal FTL DPS key.

Hmm strange, I had that in my macros on my DPS but it didnt work :/ Ill have to try it again at some point to see if I did something wrong.

Did you have the click, with the /target on both the master and slave toons?

Did you have the click, with the /target on both the master and slave toons?
So with IS, is it impossible to have your main toon targeting something differently than your other toons?
What if you wanted to have your main keep attacking its current target, but your slaves to handle adds/the rift, etc etc. Is this simply not possible?

You can set it up however you want.
Just the wizard gives a default set up.
Most will adapt from the default, in which case we have.
a) You press a key, from 1 to =, example "1".
b) The non-active windows assist the active window, acquiring its target.
c) All windows then receive the same key you pushed, example "1".
If you want the toons to target something different from what the active window is targeting at the time the button was pushed, it should be in their macros too.
You can set up sticky targeting, if you want the slaves to stay on something, even while changing targets on the main.
The easiest might be to disable the Mapped Key: FTL Assist Me.
Do this by creating another mapped key, with two steps.
Step 1 disables and Step 2 enables the mapped key.
There are probably better ways to do this, but that's a quick and easy method.
While the key is disabled, the 1 through = keys cannot have the slaves assist the main, so they stay on their current targets.
You could accomplish this entirely within wow, by having each /Focus their current target.
And giving their dps keys, [target=focus, exists] as the first condition.
