View Full Version : "non-specific" vehicle macros

I use jamba and Macaroon for most of my macros.
What I am wondering, is there a way to write a macro that uses the ability in vehicle slot 1-9

Without knowing what that ability is.
Without the ability showing on a visible bar.

Something like "/click vehicleusebutton1"?

As I have begun to actually complete heroics on my team I am looking forward to the day I can get through the first elites of ToC. The first round of teams are all pathetically easy. When the team of 3 elites come out - total wipefest. Part of the issue is this:
I have never had a /assist style of play. Instead I use "/cast [@focustarget]" etc. I then use Targets for CC (this means I can look at my party bars and always know who's CCing who).

Anyway, help in this would be much appreciated. I've been looking but WoWwiki leaves a lot to be desired.

When I started in there I just remapped my assist and follow to keys away from 1-4 (f and c I believe). Then I could still reset focus when the vehicle lost it and assist and just have the 1-4 keys pass through to my alts. This works fine if you want them doing the same stuff as you, which I do in ToC, in Oculus I've been experimenting with excluding a window from keyclone passing as I try and get the 5 amber trick down.

For all vehicle fights except oculus, It's been enough for me to simply spam the same keys on everyone, having the vehicle controls be on the bar and keybinds where pets normally are.
I have a key bound to make the alts assist their focus, and then spam the ability keys as I see fit.

Focusing on one champion at a time is the way to go for that fight, especially since the other two sometimes don't attack until they get hit, though that seems to be a bug and can (and should) not be relied on.

If anyone gets low, just send them over to get a new mount.

This fight may be more trivial to me than other people due to being rather good at the jousting solo, but just focus on keeping your shields up as much as you can, tank and spank with thrust most of the time, except throwing some spears whenever the mob tries to get some distance.

Generally is not worth using charge since it breaks follow and can take some time to recover from, time in which the champions can spear and charge your toons.
Staying in melee range prevents them from using shield reducing abilities.

The # being the number of the ability. All one word, took me a while to figure that out, kept putting a space before the number. I used something like this for ToC as well. The horses inside ToC didn't respond to the same macro's used on the dailies when I called the spell name (/use Shield-Breaker). Joust & Defend are on different cooldowns, so a macro with both will make sure Defend is up 100%.

A quick google search of these forums yielded:
