So I've recently made the switch from a team of three to a full on five man (one prot paly and 4x elemental shammies) and have been having just a grand old time. However, there are a few fights where the chain heals trouble me, either ones where my team is getting too far from each other from fear or being scattered so I've made one into a dual spec for restoration. I've written some macros that /party1, /party2 riptide and lesser healing, for a total of 10 spots and a simple earth shield and nature's swiftness big heal for an emergency. I tried to keep it to twelve buttons because I've got the Naga mouse with 12 buttons on the side. My problem is I already use the regular 12 buttons, the ctr and the shift variants for spells I want to be able to get to pretty frequently. I've been saving alt as a modifier for just such an occasion though and have some room on the action bars on the right side of the screen to line them up and keybind them. I set it up, with just alt+1 - alt+= mapped on the resto so I can keep the buttons usable on the other accounts. Trouble is, pressing alt+anything without it bound is the same as pressing just the anything all by itself apparently, triggering actions I don't want on the other four accounts. So pressing Alt-1 triggers the heal on the resto but my follow macro on all the others which is just a normal 1. Other than keybinding a bunch of blank boxes on the other four ( undesirable at best) is there a way to tell it to differentiate between alt and no alt? I'm not currently using any action bar mods, but am not against the idea if it makes the bindings easier. Thanks in advance.

You could bind the mouse buttons to warcraft buttons.
So you can either click the button in wow.
Or press the mouse button, which clicks the wow button.

Then include the logic of [mod:alt] and [nomod:alt] as needed.

If your software supports mouse broadcasting (HKN, ISBoxer), consider Repeater Region based heals.
Set up Grid, Healbot, OpenRDX or Vuhdo to display the team alphabetically.
Then go with something like:
Left Click = Lesser Healing Wave
Alt Left = Healing Wave
Ctrl Left = NS Healing Wave
Right Click = Riptide
Alt Right = Chain Heal
Ctrl Right = Earth Shield
