Hi,
i've been reading some stickys, been watching some videos and tryed some stuff my self.

Basicly i started a 2x mage team to TEST macros.
My real team would be raffed and would excist from 3 mages.

Anyway, i agreed with the simple /follow assist macro.

so basicly i got a leader, who will be set to focus, and would be assisted with /startattack [target=focustarget]
( so far nothing new )

Now keyclone asks u to put asdw in ignore keys if u wanna move with then on your main.
Sometimes this is annoying if u wanna do something ( typ for example, if u wanna do /dance on all ).
What i did was is go to my 2nd and 3rd toon, ( so not my leader ) and remove the key bindings for asdw
this means if u switch char u cannot move with asdw no more, but as i'll be having 1 leader anyway this works good.

For now it works good, i got / to break follow, so i set 1 toon to move left on / and one to move right on /

i still got the arrows to move other toons if needed.

How do u guys like this setup?
what do u think the negativ and possitive things would be.

i got no experience dual boxing, this is why i was testing macros first, i didn't wanna waste any of the 90 days from the recruit a friend option.

tips about dual boxing 3 mages and even links to old topics are welcome.

So you just removed the wasd keys from your slaves so that you can type /dance with keyclone faster? Sorry, not to be of no use or anything but, you're going to have to learn the hard way how much this will gimp you later on. You'll find the negatives quickly once your main starts getting killed by random things and you have to move slaves but won't be able too. Pretty sure most if not all boxers started out with "hey look what i can do" type thing and quickly got over it because it got in the way more often then not (this includes me).

No no dont get me wrong, read the "example" part man, dont just judge me!!
anyway since u've already judged me i wont put any effort in it, sad this is the way u welcome new comers :/

also i cannot move my slaves? u didn't read my post, please re-read it,
and note the arrow part can still be used.

CMON...

edit : i also dont care if others think it's cool or not, i dont do it for them.

I don't think you will find many times where you will want to type something on all of your guys at the same time. That said, maybe you will. Try it out for a while and see what happens. Personally, I like to be able to play all of my characters individually (for raids and such) so I don't change any of their bindings as you have done.

What you will find most boxers do, is they do not broadcast asdw, but DO broadcast the arrow keys, and the arrow keys are what they will use to break follow with their slaves. You will also want to be able to broadcast special strafe keys to all of your guys, as you will be strafing out of fires/lava/ice patches/all kinds of crazy stuff as you level, and having those buttons will be extremely helpful.

Really though, you will find as many ways to box as there are people on this board. Try it out - if it doesn't work, fix it. You'll find tons of good ideas here, but sometimes they won't fit your specific playstyle, so adjust them as you see fit.

I believe you can override your blacklist with a simple keybind if you want to type on all your toons.

You asked for the "negativ and possitive", don't get all pissy when someone gives you what you ask for. Zal is 100% correct, unbinding wasd on your wow keybindings instead of using the toggles is a bad idea. He even told you why. Not being able to use wasd on your slaves will mean more corpse runs. Not to mention annoyances when you just need to move one of the slaves.

I suggest you simplify this macro.
You have your focus set.
macro:
/assist focus
/cast fireball

Your macro will start melee, but this is my starter macro, and you can see how easy it is to set all your spells when you get them.

If you look at the links in my sig you'll see some real easy ways to get started

I actually have it set up the way the OP described with wasd and have been boxing successfully with it for 2 years.
If I need to move an alt i simply mouse move them, or arrow keys still work for moving them all.
I type in stuff broadcast all the time.
The blacklisting of wasd is only for the hardcore pvp'ers with FTL setups and such, generally.

hey, thanks for your comment.
macro's are working great atm, i've readed all stickys and wiki's i could find on this server.
my toons love following me, spread out and fire when i ask them.

but i was just wondering if it was worth not setting asdw.
So it's not, i found out the hard way though :p doing hogger losing my leader.

MY team dinged 14 yesterday though.

thanks for ya comment.

ty, this is what i tryed to make clear.

anyway, i move my main with asdw, so when my main dies and i wanna move my cloons fast, i use asdw and keep forgetting i removed those keybindings, so obviously my cloons died aswell.
thats the reason i put asdw back in, i just mute when chatting, and while lvling i dont chat often anyway.

but hell when i hit 80 and wanna show them off, i will definitly remove asdw for a day :p

my triplet is lvl14 now.

Ez mode would be to macro /dance on each char, drop it on a bar (say its 7) then hit 7 on your main and everyone will /dance at the same time..... Just a thought :)

I'd rather not waste bar space and keybindings on such macros.

Things I tend to type in broadcast are:
Whispering someone for raid invites.
Emotes.
Hearthstone.
Any new companion or mount that I got for everyone.
Summoning of companions and mounts that I don't use regularly. (any companion really, since I don't use them regularly)
Quest items. (could use the jamba item bar, but I have not found any keybindings I'd like to spare for that purpose yet)
Other items that I want to use on everyone on occasion, such as the commendations of service this most recent patch.
For teams with multiple of the same class, equipping a new item they all got.

Not necessarily, i haven't hit 80 yet on my first team and have been boxing for over a year. It's just REALLY useful to have a leaderless setup, focus or not.

Hardly. I have been multiboxing for 2+year and not a single second of that has been PvP. Some of it, however, has been raiding, quickly moving a single toon out of pools of owie, dragon breaths, polarity shifts, etc. PvE is full of places where being able to pick up when your main has died or moving one but not all toons is vital.

You can do all of this with the Jamba item bar, not just the quest items. I have a separate hotkey for my hearthstone, but I often use the item bar for everything else. I find it insanely useful and way faster to use the item bar than stop what I'm doing to broadcast commands or manually search bags.

Well then why are you asking for help? Seems like you know better than everyone else?
