Hey all, finally got my shammies up to 80, is there any order that you found was easist when doing the HC's?

So far I have tried :-

UK - cleared no major problems
UP - Up to Skadi, then a major wipefest on Skadi
HoL - Up to Lonar, Then a major wipefest on Lonar

I remember seeing a post somwer ages ago about a easy to hard scale of the HC's, can't find it now

Thanks in advance

Dougie

I would also do the first and last boss in DTK and also Gundrak (at least to the last boss).
Also worth doing FoS and PoS normal for some gear upgrade. :)
My shammies with a 2.5k gs cleared all of those easily with a geared tank and a decent geared priest, just takes a little longer :)

Gundrak is stupid easy. So is Culling of Stratholme, just don't worry about the timer.

Occulus is stupid easy too if you know a trick or two with the drakes. I love getting it on a random now with the increased rewards. On the last boss. Park your healer toon on the floating island where the treasure chest is. 4 other toons on red drakes fly up about 25 yards and spam the boss. Healer guy on the platform heals the drake that has agro. When the boss does his shift, dont bother to run away, hit the phase button on the red drakes and they dont take any damage as they should have like 20 charges of the immune buff. Also if your group is shaman. you can have them all dismount on the platform and drop all your totems too and your drakes will have all the totem and healing buffs.

You need to post this in the occulus thread. I do it with all amber drakes, and my guys supremely outgear it, so it's a joke, but honestly this extremely simple strategy seems like the best for all the people starting out, and I had never even heard of it til now.

Agreed. That Oculus strat is a new one to me as well.

One question though: doesn't your unmounted healer get ganked? I've been on that platform before as a healer and taken mad damage while trying to heal.

THANKS for this tactic on Oculus. I only do the final boss when I have another person on a healerdrake with me on four tankdrakes.

And idd please post it in Oculus thread since I didnt see this mentioned before.

This is a time i wish this forum had a reputation system... even though i'd be far into the red =P

Not if you are at max heal range and not directly on top of them.

Like mentioned before I'll second it. Gundrak and DTK are both great places to start heroics and I'll even throw in Utgarde Keep and Halls of Lightning.

In Gundrak watch out for the Collusus- he's easy but tricky to master for a new boxer.

In DTK watch the Soul mages in the start that toss down the shadow damage circles. That's probably the biggest danger in the whole place lol.

Anyway more detailed guides to specific dungeons are in the dungeons forum if you find yourself stuck on a boss.

Like others said, GunDrak, CoS and DTK are all fairly straightforward.

Skadi - take it slow and pick up 3 harpoons as you go, when you get to the far end park your toons on one side of the corridor and move only your tank into the circle. Make sure he picks up each new set of adds coming through the door and bring Skadi down - pick him up quick and zerg. If he whirlwinds, taunt when he's 2/3 the way to your team to bring him back to the tank.

Ionar - PITA, but spread out and single target heal whoever needs it. As soon as he casts disperse hit follow and run in a circle down the stairs on one side the back up the other and spread again. The time it takes to run that circle is about the time disperse lasts so it fits quite well. Do any instant heals you have whilst running.

Oh yeah Ionar sorry I forgot to mention him!

He like the Collosus when you first try them will probably wipe if you go into those fights blindly. Once you know how they work it's easy sauce.

I use the same strategy with Ionar- spread the slaves out near the bottom of the stairs and when he disperse follow and run back to where the statues come to life.

ionar and Collosuis can both be easily healed through, really this is a tank and spank fight, unless heals are very weak. Nature resist totem also helps I believe if you have a shaman.

That's what "just dinged 80" means, usually.

I did these bosses not long after dinging with a GS of 2.5k gs on all my dps and about 3k gs on the healer. The only toons that had crafted epics were the tank and priest.
I really think both these bosses have been nerfed so much that they are some of the easiest in the game, only thing to really do is spread out the team and then keep everyone topped off until the boss is dead. On collossus the one tip that is worth noting is to keep him facing away from the team so that when he goes into his phase thing that it spawns away from your toons and then the tank can pick him up before he can one shot a toon.

nature resist totem basically negates all damage from puddles.

The LFD system really favors tanks - and tanks really make the team. My advice? Spend an evening or 2 just doing LFD on your tank. This will show you just about every fight, and get him geared ASAP. Get him all of Tier9 except the headpiece - and then get the 75 Triumph token headpiece in Dal. You should be pretty set at that point and you'll find all of the heroics much easier and faster. Once my tank was geared up, I found I could simply gather up large packs for trash and DPS the whole lot down :)

thats my tank, I play her in solo play, and her gear is not too shabby at all :P

Trying to save up my badges for crusader orbs so i can make the ilvl 245 mail chest

am gonna keep a dedicated resto for the momment cos i am still taking a lot of damage and am constantly healing, getting a lot of server lag atm, and am using to comps to run em.

The shamens now have 3 T9 peices each and am sort of farming FoS normal for the gear in there, plus i try to have a go at whatever the daily HC is. it will get there in the end :P

thanks again

Yeah, no shaman make this a whole lot of suck.

My first team had not shaman and it was still easily healed through. The nature damage really is not that high.

Instead of wasting emblems on crusader orbs, just buy them with frozen orbs from the new vendor in dalaran.

Hmmmm? Yeah, idk, not my experience although I've also just successfully beat the snake boss in front for the first time the other night (Positioning up the ramp or along the ledge out of the nova's range.) But idk, those puddles tick me down real fast.
