View Full Version : Comprehensive List of 'Kill Count' Quests

So - does anyone have a complete list of Kill Count quests? I've tried all of the major WoW database sites, and none of them have a filter for finding this type of quest, so it looks like one would have to manually find each of them.
My question is... does anyone have a list/link already? If not, I'm going to make one. A good one, with links, etc. I'd imagine it would be a big project, but I'm willing to do it asap as my 'contribution' of sorts.
Thoughts?

After spending a couple hours in the blood elf starting zone collecting dozens of quest items and only making it to level 5, I could really use something like this. To make matters worse, I've never played horde before, so I'm fighting that learning curve for quests/zones as well. I can't wait till it's time for instances - the questing right now is tedious.
But sometimes you have to do a collection quest, cause the follow quest is a killing quest. And since 2.3 collection quests give's also a very nice extra xp.

The key issue is that most quest guides for fast power-leveling, either free ones like Jame's for Alliance or paying ones like Joana/Mancow for Horde or Brian Knopp for Alliance are designed for pure solo leveling.
They even ignore on purpose instance quests since 2.3.
I haven't found any guide dedicated for Multi-boxers, specifically avoiding collection quests.
Probably because the "market" is too limited to expect any decent ROI for the writer.
So far, I've found that the usual instance runs "in a loop" is best until lvl 50 (ie. for Alliance : Deamines -> Stockades -> SM serie -> Uldaman -> Zul Farrak).
Then you may choose to mix both open-world quests and some LBRS runs until 60 (many advocate for getting to 60 before entering Outland, especially on PvP servers).

Great hint 8)
Though it gets depressive if you enter 50-60 in the "required level" filter and go into details

Get this mod (Lightheaded)
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html
It's basically WowHead's database linked to your quests.
Accept all the quests. Read through the comments to see if it's a collection quest and what kind of drop rate and if it's part of a chain.
Then decide if you want to do it or not.
OR
Go here: http://www.wow-pro.com/node/692
for the FREE leveling guides.
Go through it and just skip the collection quests that have bad drop rates or don't do any of them at all.
Either way, you'll have to do some of the leg work yourself.

Great tip yes, just tried it.... However, might be better to search for "slain", as all kill quests seem to have in the description somewhere X of Y slain.
Some I suspect may not mention the word kill, but instead slay, terminate, extinguish etc.

Although it would be insanely convenient, I basically use the quests as a a lazy man's guide on where to go. In the meantime I follow those quests for about 50% and use my own 'judgement' for the other half. Just look around, especially with the new minimap enhancements it's easy to spot questgives. Read the discription, if it's some elite quest you pick it up instead of skipping it, if it's a collection quests which requires anything more than 5-6 drops you skip it. Ofcourse 'pickup' quests are usually quite doable, the respawnrates of most are quite decent to do them quickly.

I think someone was going to bastardise the Joana/Kopp guides (altered naturally) In order to make it more multiboxer friendly.
Can't remember who it was, come to think of it, might have been me :-S

Sounds like a good challenge. I think I'll start 3 undead warlocks from level 1.
Question: Is Boosting significantly faster than fast questing via the guides?
