So, I am going back and forth leveling 3 hunters and 3 Mages.

I don't know which at this point would be better to focus on.. Both have advantages at this point....
Using it for PVP (Non-serious arena and bg's)
Ranged filler for alt raids since my guild is ultra mele heavy

I know both will work alright in pve and bgs

I have sooo many more keybinds on my hunters than the mages..I wonder if its going to get even worse as I approach higher levels.

Or I already have 2 level 80 shaman..I could add another for a 3 shaman team.

I know I need more "seat" time boxing to get issues sorted out..

I suggest mages over hunters. The mages DPS is far superior in PVE content. If you plan on just screwing around in arena/BGs the team wont much matter as both have their shortcomings.

When you are geared people will love both groups, as their AOE is rediculous. Warlocks would also be nice.

I would also go mages over the hunters, in PvP they have a lot more tricks :) Although hunters do have their tricks I feel the mages will be the better choice.

I had a lot of fun with Hunters...
But mages will have far more firepower... for killing things faster in PvP.
And will do heroics as 3x DPS, more quickly too... for more badges per hour, getting PvE or PvP gear.

My buddy's mage in 1/2 t9 gear is doing over 6.5k dps per boss... so mages really do outdps almost anything at the moment, and for the most part always have been a top contender.

Hit 80 with a team of mages just recently and am now in the process of gearing them up.

Prior to that I was levelling a team of hunters but switched over at lvl 73 and haven't looked back. While I did miss the pet tanking for PvE, mages are flat out better for PvP...that pretty much sealed the deal for me. Mirror Image x 5 = WIN. :p

tough one this...

if I was in your situation I would probably level both the hunters and the mages up to 80, as they are both really capable in PVP and part of a PVE group. also as you have 2 shammies already I would look at trying to speed level a 3rd, (as everyone knows 3 shammies are better than 2 :p ). Or run a Dk with the shammies for support (if you dont have one already??)

TBH what to run with is probably the hardest descision you have to make in this game when multiboxing.
I have dumped the following characters over the past year to cut down time spent on levelling alt's:

4x70 Warlocks
4x70 Hunters
3x70 Mages
2x60 Death Knights
1x60 Rogue
2x80 Druids
2x80 Shaman

(I have also cut down from 5 to 3 boxing - my teams are in my sig below)
