Just in case people will have a problem

This issue will happen if your World of Warcraft folder does not have write permission or your security settings won't let you write to the game folder.
Try running the Launcher instead of the game as that is designed to save and run patches.
If that does not work or if you want to run the game and you are on Windows Vista/7, try right-clicking the game's shortcut and select Run as Administrator.
If you are on Windows 2000/XP, please log onto a Windows account with administrative rights.
If that does not work, you can try to manually download and install each patch that you need from http://www.blizzard.com/patches/
