I was planning on doing 4x ret + DK... but it seems way too FOTM to me, especially not knowing what cataclysm will bring. They are still obviously an option. I'm mainly looking for a group that is FOCUSED on battleground PVP for cataclysm. I'm really not sure if I want a melee team or not.
Anyway this is what i have leveled to 65 and ready to go further (boas minus weapons for all but paladins/dks which also have weps).
3x mages
4x paladins
5x dks
4x druids
4x warlocks
4x hunters
4x rogues
The only things i'm missing are priests and warriors, which i have no real interest in playing. Of course i still have my 4 shaman. Just looking for some opinions.

How many hours a day do you play? You have epiced the first group and also have all the BoA shoulders and chest plus all the tradeskills you are leveling?
Wow , that was all very fast!
My vote goes for some pet classes, I have 2 warlocks and 2 hunters, pets can be a big help in both PvE and PvP.
My 2 cents

I still have a bit of work on gear for my shaman. But overall yes. I have done trade skills on 30 characters (alchemy), as well as gotten 3 sets of BOAS (cloth, mail dps, and plate dps) I play a good deal as i'm in college and my car is basically shot, i get it back from the shop on friday. My schedule is something like this.
Monday: class till 12, homework from 12-3, class from 3:30-5. Wow from 5-7, dinner, wow from 8-sleep
Tuesday: Wake up around 11, go get the wallstreet journal and read that + do homework till servers are up, play till 5, hang with my roomate and grab dinner and stuff, 8-12 wow
Wednesday: Same as monday
Thursday: same as tuesday except servers won't be down
Friday: Wow from 12-5. Dinner with dad. Go out with friends till midnight and either sleep or wow it up for a bit/
Saturday: Play streetfighter or tekken with friends
Sunday: Chill, finish any homework i need to do.
Keep in mind... I'm in Rhode Island. There is basically nothing to do here as i'm not into drugs, drinking or partying. My school is a party school and is about 35 minuets from even the closest mcdonalds... so it's not like i can just go somewhere.

I have a girlfriend and see her 3-4 times a week. Thankfully neither of us are extremely clingy and just appreciate the time we have with one another. Normally this is on sat/sun and one random time during the week. Her major requires much more work than mine does.

i have been thinking about making a horde team just for bgs. all ready got a team of ally shammys at 80, but its hard to bet a group of shammy in the bg with all there totems dps and healing and travel forms.

I'd do some kind of a melee team.
Just because you already have a predominantly caster team.
But you could go with anything really.
Just thinking something different from the first team, would be good for the change of pace.
You might consider a PvE and PvP team, with either casual BG's or more serious Arena for the pvp.
Or possibly an opposite faction team, taking your time with no pressure to level.... which of course opens up the neutral AH and opposite faction AH, if you need to unload an excess of anything.

I'm really not that big of a fan of alliance races. I understand that idea though. I have been playing my paladin/dk team and i'm not too sure i enjoy them. I mean they are only about 65 but still.

My vote is for your 4 warlocks, I have a suspicion they are going to be amazing in Cata as well as dam good now, 4 locks of any denomination with a healer in BGs would destroy every living thing with a red tag. Personally I am going 4x Demo locks and a shaman healer =)

I'd have to level a new toon to 60 then. Either a priest or shaman. I just found out that my RAF isn't up yet. So what i might do is make either a priest or shaman to 60 real quick.
Edit... the thought of 4 chaosbolts and basically having a well... 100% chance to kill someone with conflag or chaosbolt seems fun. Basically a 5 second shadowfury cooldown...
