I saw this thread on the realm forums and thought it was interesting.

I sent this email, we'll see if she responds, I think it would be pretty neat to have her in guild.

Researcher Looking for Guild Post on Kil'Jaeden Realm Forums

I saw this post a couple days ago and thought I'd drop you a line to see if you've found a guild yet.

My name is Joe, and I'm affectionately known to my guild as "Bear" or "Svper". I am the guild master of Legion of Boom of Kil'Jaeden PvP. We are a very unique guild in the World of Warcraft because most of our members are multiboxers. If you are not aware, multiboxers are people who pay for and play multiple MMO accounts at the same time. Our most common multiboxers are 5 boxers, people who can fill the group dynamic needed to clear 5 man dungeons by themselves. At the time of this email, we are the largest and most active multiboxing guild in the US servers. I thought this may give a unique perspective on WoW gamers. We also have a lot of single player people or "solo boxers" in the guild. I just recently took over the guild as the former Guild Master has passed me the torch as he tends to real life outside of the game.

In your post you said you were looking for a PvP server and a raiding guild. Kil'Jaeden and Legion of Boom can fill both of these requests. Legion of Boom has a core raid group, nearly a guild within a guild, of 10-12 people who raid 2 nights a week. We only raid 10 mans in our group and we're a very tight knit group. We used to be in a guild called Death is Temporary on Madoran. When I transferred to Kil'Jaeden last November, most of the raid group eventually followed and in late December we reformed our group within Legion of Boom. We're not hardcore world first raiders. We're real people age 20+ (most of us are mid 20s, early 30s) who hold real jobs who really enjoy the game. We all have a variety of backgrounds and we're spread across the United States, but for a few hours each night we come together as a guild, and a couple nights a week, we dive into the game to take on the current raid content. We only raid 2 nights a week but most of us are constantly on throughout the day.

If you are interested or have further questions please feel free to contact me.

- Joe

It was someone asking to observe a semi-raiding guild on preferably a PvP realm. Maybe they want to test out some new Ventrilo Harassment soundboards on people.

Here is her main site that was linked in the post on the realm forums, sadly, google cache doesn't have the OP.

I thought it was interesting that both responses to her post came from KJ guilds. I'm curious to see more of what she's doing. I've done some ethnographic research in terms of usability studies and product development.

edit: I was curious about why she would want a PVP realm. It turns out she is researching violence in video game culture. Hopefully she will take a balanced approach to this and hasn't entered into it with assumptions.

I don't know. I mean, there are certain things said in guild that just... well.. piss me off. Granted, maybe that is the whole point. Maybe, thats the kind of stuff she needs to make this worthwhile. But, at the same time, those will probably be the things that get us labelled as stereotypes. It would be neat, don't get me wrong..

I'm jus' sayin

I agree. I haven't heard back yet, so who knows.

Alcattle don't feel bad. I'll get you another copy of the memo about the covers on your TPS reports.

Received this response today:

Hi!
Thanks for the reply. My apologies for taking so long to get back with you. I received an unexpected number of replies and it has taken me awhile to get through them all.
I found a guild to currently do observation with but I appreciate your response. If it’s okay with you though I’d like to keep your information on file as I might contact you at a later date with some questions or for possible observation later this year.
Again, thanks so much for the reply!
