how to enhance resto shaman performance

So far i've used my resto shaman only to keep up riptide on my tank and my main dps. But by jumping into halls of reflection hc lately, i've realized i use only a fraction of his abilities. So i've spent some time resetting his keybinds, interface, ... so that he can also purge & cleanse spirit my dps if needed.

What i plan on using from now on as my main spam macro (on same key as my tank/dps) is:

- Keeping riptide up on my tank and the healer, whenever it's off the cooldown.
- Purge my tanks target every 4th second
- Cleanse spirit my tank every 5th second

My resto has currently 614 mp5 buffed and i spam 6x per second.

My 4 click macro's look like this (each new line is a button)

I can't find a lot of theory about how & what resto shammies should spam. For example time between 2 purges, or 2 cleanse, etc. So i was wondering how you use your resto shammy, and how i can improve my main spam macro.

I'd consider building Water Shield into the sequence somewhere, just so you never have to worry about it.
Possibly Earth Shield, too.

Depending on the number of keys free vs used...
Possibly go with two spam keys, which are the same for the rest of the team.
One of which has the Resto only do the heal sequence, as above.
But the other has the Resto also DPS, for easier mobs and such.

To be honest I have always run my shammies as 4 x elemental, healing the tank occ. with 4 x LHW when required so have never used my resto healing whilst boxing.

Saying that I use my resto to heal in raids and my main spam heal is chain heal. When starting the ICC heroics I also set up a heal spam on my tank which took advantage of the buff you get from riptide and chain heal which was:

riptide, LHW, LHW, chain heal, LHW, LHW repeat. I had my earth shield going up every 15-20secs.

Depending on the fight and your tank, this will single heal your tank through anything, whilst the chain heals should keep ur dps up through a lot of aoe, not to mention the crits from the LHWs restore mana and will heal the lowest health member of your group. My resto has slightly more mp5 than yours and about 40% crit when buffed and can spam this for more than 2 minutes quite happily which is generally more than enough time for any heroic boss.

This is the Click sequence I use on my Resto for her spam button. I have45772 so I can hit 3 targets with Riptide :

Earth Shield and Water Shield I manage through SmartBuff, with separate buttons for longer fights.

Cleanse and heal I manage through mouseover.

Allright thanks. This gave me some ideas. Also i just realized that it's stupid of me to have purge in a castsequence, as it only consumes mana when it actually purges, not when it can't purge -__-
