I`m startingup boxing again and rerolling new teams.
Before I quit I was thinking of 1enhance and 4 rets but I`m wondering if it would be better to keep the dk and trade on paladin for a enhancement shaman.
I`m quoting mmo-champ:
You put 5 points in Icy Talons. While fighting (and applying Frost Fever), you swing 20% faster. If you have talented Windfury Totem on you, you swing a total of 40% faster.
I think this could make quite a difference when stacking both haste buffs. Besides that the shaman offers a few more nice totems + a snare remove, purge and hero/bl.
The plusses seem to be a very good reason to go with this setup but I`m not sure if I would make the burst then. As far as I know(could be wrong), the enhancement shaman dps is rather low and so is the burst. Having 2 buffing classes and only 3 real dps could that I`m not getting the kill.
Anyone any thoughts on this? And does anyone have any experience with dps on an enhancement shaman?

Seems like an interesting idea you got there. :D It seems like it would work out nicely in theory, yet how well it will work out in game is different. I suggest you try this, the wolves that the shaman has + BL would make for a nice Judgment Beast Cleave. :P

BL + Purge is way more than enough to make up for the burst lost going from 1 paladin => 1 enhance shaman. I was only a bit worried that enhance might get 1 shotted. Other than that it works out great, in theory.
I think Zugdud got a mixed melee team very similar to what you are trying to do. Maybe he can comment on it.

Enhance shaman in my mains raiding guild does up towards 10k dps on bosses.
Not sure about pvp enh, but they for sure can tear stuff up in pve, just like ret pallies.
Are you sure icy talons stacks with windfury totem though?

I do 2v2 with an enhancement who has his 277 (2200) mainhand weapon already. He quite literally tears people a new asshole, especially non plate (obviously). The damage wouldn't be the problem, it would be his survivability. With wolves+SR up enhancements are very durable, but in 5v5 the damage is just absurd. I'm sure any good team would find a way to gib the shaman.
It's an interesting thought, and who knows it could work.... but if I'm going to drop a paladin for anyone... I would want to gain MS.

I roll with an enhancement shaman, however I run a much different team setup then what you are proposing.
Aside from the aformentioned pleothroia of utility they bring to the table for a melee zerg, here are some of my experiences with them:
* With IWT spam, I find that im usually able to pull off shears on his focus targets as it's off GCD and IWT makes him spin constantly. very nice ability against holy paladins in particular
* You definitly want a macro to swap a shield on/off, must have to survive against heavy physical teams
* Maelstrom weapon builds charges slowly, especially in PVP where melee range can come at a premium. So while the instant Healing Waves can be clutch you can't really count on them anywhere near the same frequence at which art of war procs
So yeah, my ratings are kind of fail right now ((IN BEFORE LOL S2 SHOULDERS)) and I only have 100 matches played so take that into consideration, but i'm just throwing it out there. Personally I see alot of potential boxing this class in arenas, but I have a long way to go mastering all the micro required to really make it work well

Windfury stacks with the DK's personal haste perhaps, but windfury doesnt stack with the DK's sharing of haste.
Dk will attack at 1.2*1.2 (icy talons/windfury)
Shammy will attack at 1.25*1.2 (flurry/windfury)
Retadins will attack at 1.2
thats all outta my head, not sure on numbers exactly, but thats how mechanics work for shamans and fury warriors - their flurry personal haste stacks with icy talons/windfury, would bet a pretty penny thats how it works with dks
As far as shammy/dk goes, they both provide pretty much same melee buffs - horn of winter = str/agi totem, windfury=icy talon, and something ...something else shammy gives +10% ap, as does abominable strength from dk....nice thing from shammy is addition of grounding totem/tremor totem imo....but i would rather do

Does a fury warrior or feral druid bring enough dps? Wouldn`t the MS from a arms warrior be more usefull then 5% of crit?
Arms could be harder to use since they have that overpower proc thingy I guess.

But then I get the idea I might as well run 5 different melee dps rofl.
I`m wondering how it would go macrowise and if the burst would still be there with this kind of setup.
Zugdud got to a nice rating with a mixed one but that seems to be with a healer friend. Mixing up classes brings a LOT of buffs but also makes it a LOT harder to do it. The setup becomes more interesting in pve tho lol:rolleyes:

PVE. anything works.
PVP. killing is not the problem. Keep adding to the team's strong point doesn't really provide more benefits. The problem is you will get bounced around in CC and doing 0 damage. Rets have much more than just frontal burst. 4 Rets were doing a lot of healing while doing damage. a mixed team with no healer sounds more like a suicide team.
if its me, I would swap the DK for anything rather than a ret paladin. If swaping paladin, not more than 1.
