[DK+4xRet] Horde Race Selection

Hey gang, I will probably be changing my DK's race soon from Troll to something else. Considering other options, primarily Blood Elf or Tauren. Here's my thoughts:

Blood Elf Pros:
* Extra AoE interrupt
* Aesthetic appeal-- all the same race
* Ease of hiding DK in the pack with BElfs if a pally is lead. Hard(er) to mouse target.
* No large avatar to get stuck in doors/corners/etc

Tauren Pros:
* War Stomp
* Slightly more tank-y racial (for now)
* Large size may shield DKs from easy view.

I see that Kromtor chose a Tauren, while Ellay and others have gone for another BElf.

Any thoughts from "veterans" of this comp?

Smaller is always better. Tauren is not worth it IMO. Arena is character mouse clicking + frame mouse clicking (by your opponenet). when it is character clicking, Tauren is lose-lose. So Tauren only works if you are all Tauren. Then it is ok.

I am orc worked out ok. BE is ok too for the extra silence, not super useful due to DR but better than nothing. and it is kinda nice to make everything BE. So my suggestion is female orc or BE.

on a site note, look at this mega buff DK is getting. +20% haste flat, which is like 12% dps increase.

You put 5 points in Icy Talons. While fighting (and applying Frost Fever), you swing 20% faster. If you have talented Windfury Totem on you, you swing a total of 40% faster.

You now put a 6th point in Improved Icy Talons as well. You have a passive personal 25% haste at all times. When you engage in combat and apply Frost Fever, you now have 45% melee haste. If you have Windfury also, you still only have 45% haste since Windfury and Improved Icy Talons are exclusive.

This is basically a 20% haste buff to any DK who has Icy Talons and Improved Icy Talons.

One reason for a blood elf DK is so that your first aoe silence is in front and exactly where you want it, not a few years behind on an alt.

Ok. Seems like Blood Elf is going to be the winner. Troll isn't THAT bad, honestly, since the get Da Voo Doo Shuffle...

This team is melee. You want as small as possible. Gnome is the best. for escape artist. You will be turning corners, going around pillars, going up stairs, to chase people all the time. Tauren is only going to slow you down, and worse get you stuck.

I made choice for orc because BE seems squishy and not vary intimidating. But going with the smaller is better mentality, BE is the one to go. (UD just got nothing special, at least BE has that little extra magic resist).

Go with female Blood Elves.
Female BE's are cute, male BE's look stupid.

The racial is great against caster teams.
And mechanically, they're amongst the smallest of choices.

Actually the really big buff is UB making the DKs diseases where they cant be dispelled while UB is up.

For unholy DKs ya. not able to dispel disease is huge.

I can't really get to UB though. I either lose Improved Death Strike. Or I lose hungering Cold + this mega haste buff in exchange for UB and gain AMZ.
