Multi-Boxing with Same Class - Gearing?

When multi-boxing with the same class, is gearing your characters an issue since they all would be wearing roughly the same gear? Do you usually just do a bunch of 5-mans until you get what you need? Or just PvP and use everyone's equivalent honor to buy gear?

I was thinking of starting 2-3 locks but worry about not being able to gear them all up.

Pre outlands most of my stuff was instance gear. Post outlands (lvl 61 now) they are geared entirely in the same quest gear, minus shoulders, bracers and belts.

My guess is they will stay mostly in quest gear for a while, then move to 5 man/arena/bg gear.
