Click to move/IWT and follow strobe

I'm not sure if this is something that should go in the addon forum or not.

I've started a DK + 4 ret team. When questing I'm not really having any issues, however I've noticed sometimes in instances the rets seem to stop behind the tank a lot despite me having pressed my IWT button.......on the occassion where I've spammed the IWT button a few times, they do go up to melee range, but often turn their back. I assume it's something to do with follow strobing. Is there some setting or trick to prevent this from happening?

I don't use follow strobing in combat for just this reason. I have my tank use the plain Jamba follow command in her pull macro, so they have almost no distance to travel when they engage {reduces runaways}, then have auto-follow after combat enabled.
