Have any of you tried to multi-box using trial accounts? I just built a new computer that's much nicer than my old one, but I didn't go all out on components. Have a has 2.66MHz Core 2, 8600GT 512MB video, 2GB 800mhz memory.

I'm curious to see how many WoW clients I could run and still be able to play effectively. Anyone try starting 4 trial accounts using same information?

Update:
So I just created 4 trial accounts, so you can do it. You can't make TBC trial account though unless you purhcase a retail copy of WoW. I inputed the exact same info for each account, but I just changed the account name xxxxx1, xxxxx2, xxxxx3, etc.

Seems like a great way to test your system before spending the money. Especially for all you out there that are asking if your system could support 2-5 accounts on one machine. I know this was a question for me, and now I'll be able to find out tonight!

When I started I made 5 trial accounts with 5 gnome warlocks and ran around the gnome newbie area 1-shotting everything.

I had 5 email aliases setup and that was the only difference between the details I supplied for the trial accounts.

Its been done probably thousands of times now. Go for it.

Keep in mind the starting areas are not as system-resource inensive as laters areas in the game.

Such as, I can navigate Azeroth just fine with all of my system, but in Zangarmash (outlands) one of my alt computers struggles. Not all zones were created equal.

I'd assume taking all 5 accounts to Ironforge would be a good test? Or trying out WSG around 18-19?

I just did it using same email and it worked fine. I plan on making 4 trials and then using my main account as the 5th account. I think I was reading that trial accounts can not invite people to a party, so I'd use my main account to group everyone up.

Trials accounts 101

Don't just willy nilly get a bunch of trial accounts...go to your main account...refer yourself as a friend 4 times...recieve trial account keys...activate the accounts...if you ever actually start paying for the account = 4 free month of WOW on your main account.

Then go to www.buy.com or some other source and wait for the game basic game's price to come down to 13.99 again...get free shipping...get a free month for each...make $4 profit...

Watch TBC prices which dropped at that site down to 13.99 as well before...get it...the above 4 free month just paid for the 4 expansions...the free months from the basic game paid for the game itself...

The last two steps take some searching and patience - but refer yourself as a friend for sure.

Thanks for the tip. I did already think about refering myself, but I didn't think about watching for super-low prices on regular WoW and TBC!
