Hi all, sorry if this question has been covered elsewhere - I looked thru the FAQs and tried some searches but didn't happen to come across the answer. Odd since I'm sure every new multiboxer stumbles over this early on..

I'm using ISBoxer to run a Pally + 4 Sham team. Just got it started yesterday. I'm taking it easy, trying to learn the functionality of ISBoxer and Jamba as I go. The issue I'd like help with is how to toggle the auto-follow, specifically during combat.

I'd like my paladin to tank the mob(s) a goodly distance from my dps, but they keep following him around regardless. I tried messing with Jamba a bit in-game, but quickly decided I'd better just ask for help before I muck with the setting too much and require a fresh install.

Thanks

On a character switch, you have the option for:
a) no follow occurs automatically.
b) normal follow occurs automatically.
c) strobe follow occurs automatically.

For follow options, you have normal follow and strobe follow.

Normal follow is not really a toggle, you initiate it and it lasts until it is broken by either getting stuck on something and the lead toon then moves out of range or by breaking follow with either a melee attack or movement in another direction.

Strobe is a toggle, it is essentially re-initiating follow every few seconds, in case it breaks.

If you have Strobe, you need to toggle it off before you can break follow.
Otherwise it will continue to initiate follow again and again.

Once strobe is off, or if you were just using normal follow.
Any movement key will break follow.
If you check out the "Others Jump" mapped key (in the General Keymaps), you see how to build independent slave movement.
I have an example of this in the keymap section of my guide.

On a related question, would it able to change the option in game? Currently, I'm using option B, in certain situations I'd like to switch to option A on the fly.

If it's not possible to do it on the fly, then would the best solution be using option A, then hit alt+f everytime I switch?

It is probably easiest to just go with a) no follow occurs automatically... and to then hit the follow hotkey when you want it. And do a movement key for the slaves only, to break follow.

However, we can easily do a toggle between the two with IS Boxer,.

What I'd do, is make a new mapped key.
In Character Sets, click on each Slot, changing the automatic action when you switch windows to the new mapped key.
IE, it is currently set to Follow/JambaMaster, change that to the new one.

The new one will not need a hotkey.
It will have one step.
There will be two actions on the step.
Right click on Actions, in the right pane.
Choose... Key Map Actions >>> Do Mapped Key Action
Set it to JambaMaster (target: Current Window).
Then the same thing, but set the second action to Follow/JambaMaster.

So now, on a switch it attempts both mapped keys, instead of one or the other.
Almost done.

Create a new mapped key.
Give it a hotkey for toggling between Follow on Switch and Don't Follow on Switch.
Give it two steps, there will be one by default, you can right click on Steps to add another.
We will be using.... Keymap Actions >> Do Mapped Key State Action.

Step 1:
Do Mapped Key State Action twice.
The first one will enable JambaMaster.
The second one will disable Follow/JambaMaster.
I'd probably give it a Pop Up Text message, but that is optional.

Step 2:
Do Mapped Key State Action twice.
The first one will disable JambaMaster.
The second one will enable Follow/JambaMaster.
Again give it the Pop Up Text message if you want.

If you want this to apply to all of your teams, just change the automatic action on character switch to the new mapped key for each team.
