View Full Version : Passing key strokes that shouldn't be passed

I've run into some odd states while using the keyclone program and i've attributed it to the way i use ventrillo.

Here's my setup: I'm running 3 wow clients on the same pc. I'm not using maximizer. I have all 3 running in full screen windowed mode and i alt-tab between them if needed.

I have my hotkey for ventrillo set as the left "alt" key. This key is set to do not pass.

I also tend to move my main a lot with the mouse and the WASD keys which i also do not pass.

Finally, i have my clones following me and i pass the space bar, and all hotkey keybinds.

What' i've found is that if my clones are on autofollow, or i'm trying to command them using the hotkeys and i press the ALT key to talk on ventrillo while also moving my main with WASD I lose control of the clones.

Thing's i've seen them do:
turn in circles uncontrolably
run in random directions and not stop
start echoing all commands to /csay

The fix for this has been to alt-tab to their windows and do something like jump or hit escape. Once i've done this they continue but if i alt-tab out again the problem goes away.

When you press a modifier (shift/alt/ctrl) + a key and release the modifier key first, the other clones don't recieve the "key-up", so will still think that key is held down.

make sure you add
ctrl+w/a/s/d
shift + w/a/s/d
alt + w/a/s/d

to your no-pass list, that way you should have no chance of your clones developing a mind of their own again :)

that answer is so simple i wonder why i hadn't figured it out already.

this might explain why it is when i'm typing in guild chat they'll do some odd things as well.

I type relatively fast so i'd see them jumping which is to be expected however sometimes they'd go into these retarded states after chatting. Was probably from doing Shift+W or something.

Thank you very much!

the beginners and software forums are trying to be a spot where keyclone support can be given.

i'm also trying to grow the community. by steering people to these forums for beginner's help, they find a group of people with similar interests... and i hope they will stay around and help others

This irritated me for while. Using alt to talk on vent and every time I went to talk my characters would all run away, I was getting pissed. Then just sat and thought about it and found out it was the combo of alt and wsda. Annoying
