Introducing Signature Generator for Multiboxers [BETA]

Features:


Create signature for "teams" from 1-5 toons
Automatically pulls level, class, spec, and professions from the Armory
Over 1400 images from WoW to choose from for character icons

Enter your team info and generate your signature. A box will appear with a string you can use in the signature of most forum softwares (including this website).

You can see an example of the resulting signature below.

TODO LIST:


Crop image for teams smaller in size than 5 (DONE!)
Provide options for backgrounds
Implement auto-updating for armory so that the user will only need to create 1 signature and it will automatically update as their characters change (DONE!)



BUGS TO FIX:


Fix issue when character is not found in the armory (FIXED!)
Fix issue with server names that contain a single quotre (') (FIXED!)

anyway to adjust the output size so it isn't cut off? is it in the code anywhere where the pixel width can be modified or the justification size?

I don't know, this is something to do with the theme here on dual-boxing.com, not my generator.

Maybe an admin on this site can offer insight?

I gathered that... I guess a special design is in order for dual-boxing.com since my design (which is standard banner width) is too large for this website :(

You may want to fix the "EDIT SIGNATURE" area of this website then... since when I edit my sig and add it there it looks perfect (even in the preview window for my sig)

Where are icons for class/race? all I see are achievements, inventory items, abilities that can be chosen as icons.

The list of "icons" is all of the images in WoW that are uses for talents/spells/items etc...

Class/Race/Spec data is automatically pulled from the armory based in your input and static images for those are used.

I had to choose an image or it would not let me continue and i didnt see any images for just chars.

Ya they are named weird (I kept the file names the same as they are in WoW).

I will eventually categorize them.

The ones for just toon pics like my sig are something like (Achievement Character BoodElf Female)

Oh I so totally agree... This was just something I sorta "threw together" so to speak to try and get positioning and general layout down, that's why I said "background needs some prettying up" lol

This may get complicated(And impossible) and they are only my thoughts/views/preferences :) But below the team name I dont particularly like the single image. I would prefer multiple smaller images (Up to 5, layed out 2 on top, 3 on bottom kinda like a pyramid) and you can determine what you would like those to be could be
1. Races of your team
2. Classes of your team
3. Spec of your team

As I say this is getting complex but next to each toon your selecting (In the design phase for users) you could have a choice of these options as radio buttons plus a choice for "No pic" Which would mean that the icon doesnt exist.
This would allow you to pick and choose what is shown in that area while keeping it clean. If you have a variety of classes you can easily show it off, same with races. If you 3 box you just have those shown (I dont think you could easily fit in more then 5 and still keep the bit on the right) If you 5 box all the same race/class you may choose to only use 3 of the 5 icons with them showing race,class and spec.
If its possible to scale and position the pics depending on how many icons you want shown (1 icon like you have now, up to 5) that would be ideal. But I have no idea of the programming behind it all :)

And then while I was writing this I see you have a new one up :D

I like the new one, if you could let people upload images for the center image that would be ideal (But prob not practical) and I would have the toon down the bottom as my leader toon, but thats just me and i could do that during design.
The option to add/remove any of the race, class, spec, profession icons would be nice as well.

And as someone else said the ability to change the background colour/pic and text colour.

Those are my thoughts for now, I will be checking back regularly.

I have modified the Signature Generator to use a smaller template now.

All currently generated signatures have been moved to the new template.

If you do not like icon used for your new signature (it was the icon for the 1st member of your team) you can generate a new signature at:

If your signature now shows a blank background, it was broken about a week ago when I did some DB cleanup and will need to be regenerated.

Feature Requests:

1. Instead of "Team <teamname>", let the text box represent the text to go there. I don't have/want a "team name", and would prefer to either leave that area blank, or put my guild name there. It looks strange to have "Team <GuildName>" when I'm not the only one in my guild.
2. Checkboxes for spec/professions. I don't mind having the spec icons, but the extra icons for professions just makes it a little more cluttered.
3. Class colors instead of class icons?
4. Racial shields instead of race/gender portraits?
5. Custom backgrounds? Could just crop the default talent tree backgrounds, or just give a color/pattern picker.
6. A couple different fonts would be cool too

Too bad we cant have 2 teams side by side given the forum's size restriction... I have a 5 shaman pvp team and a mixed class pve team and currently cant show both. Any way to get them both to work? like perhaps an option for half size?

Here's my thoughts..

1. I would like to be able to pick a different background, like a transparent background for self photoshopping or other dark backgrounds. 2. I would like to see the server name somewhere. In the bottom right kind of translucent would be fine. You'd never know I was levelling up a fresh team on Kil'jaeden-US with Legion of Boom (different server than the above team) if I used this sig, unless you look it up on the armory

3. Maybe incorporate class colors somehow. I realize the icons are meant to show that, but it's relatively hard to pick it apart at a glance. Maybe make the class icons more prominent somehow, since that's far more important than the professions.
