Hi,

in another thread there was some mentioning on Voice commands which sounded interesting.

I goggled a bit and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCAKf8acYOw

This was done with the software mentioned here:: http://gimpgear.us/gamingvoicecontrol.htm

other software I found:

http://www.e-speaking.com/index.htm
some turorial: http://www.pokerlistings.com/blog/voice-controlled-poker

some freeware:

http://download.cnet.com/tazti-Speech-Recognition-Software-for-Windows-XP/3000-7239_4-11011118.html?tag=bc

I haven't tried any of the software packages myself (since I am @ work now)

Has anyone experience with the this sort of software ?

cheers

Be careful - someone may bite your head off and call you an arrogant bastard for thinking outside the box. :)

That was the thread which brought me to look into it actually.

I found since then some post from long ago about Voice control and noone seems to use it.

Thought it might be handy for healing.

Cheers

The problem with the voice recognition programs and multiboxing is that they usually take way too long to process a voice command and generate a keystroke input. Whereas even the software boxing apps are nearly instant.

Is this still true? PC's are getting pretty damn fast these days.

I tried voice command maybe 1.5 years ago using the built in Vista voice recognition stuff. I found it was pretty responsive but it takes some time to actually say a word. I thought it was a lot easier for me to just hit a key instead. It just takes about .5 of a second to say something like "Stop" or "Heal Toon1" and I couldn't spam it!

So it might be good for less used commands like "rez toon1" or "buff party" but the combat stuff didn't work out for me personally.

It look really impressive showing it to my friends though.
