sorry if the title was weird, couldn't think how to easily explain this.

I have a laptop arriving next week. Specs are insane. Can 10 box on the one laptop probably. Laptop is PC. I also have a mac book pro which i can triple box on for pve but can't AV cause it can't handle it. Me and my brother both multibox.

ANyway. MY QUESTION.

is it possible to say 8 box on my PC laptop, then assign 4 of the chars to a different monitor / laptop and have my brother control those four from there while i control my four on the PC?

Essentially, I am looking at a way to get my PC which is a beast to run the wow copies but also have my brother play some of them on a seperate screen.

possible?

might be able to make something work if they were both running PC software. Thinking HKN and maybe MoJo. They are both just key broadcasting then multibox solution (complicated) But I never played WoW on a Mac.
As for both of you playing, I assume you both have accounts as sharing is against TOS

It'd be easier just to buy your brother a cheaper laptop that will run 4 copies of WoW. Sounds like cost isn't a big consideration.

since it's kinda hard/impossible(?) to get two mouse cursors/distinct keyboard inputs (hitting "a" on kb1 shouldn't be the same as hitting "a" on kb2) i'd say you should have gone for two laptops with each sporting 4wow's, this should be possible guessing the exponential price curve of laptops ;)

Not to be any rude or such, but I like it when this forum keeps the things legal and clean
This sounds like account shareing  which isnt really a clean way to go

You can't assume someone isn't playing by the rules when you don't have all the information.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess at this stage we might just 5 box on the PC and triple box on the mac.

As to account sharing, i said in the original post me and my brother both multibox. I have 5 accounts and he has 5 seperate accounts.

i got my 5 shammies to 60 already, he is in the process of finishing his 5 off to 60. i can 5 box on the mac but it strains it, and you cant pvp on 5. It runs 3 pretty good though.

no worries dude. i rekon you gotta be all legit if your multibox cause you get reported that many times anyway. I never realised how much hate there was for multiboxing.

i got multiple reports sent on me for 'hacking' when i used my RAF levels to grant my shaman lvls.

some nubs were like HES HACKING THE SERVERZ 4 LEVELZ WTF???

I always do my RAF granted levels on the AH bridge in IF for this type of reaction :)

I suspect you might be able to do this, but you'd have to use more than one multiboxing app.

As an example:

Keyclone/ISBoxer/wtfever controlling accounts 1-5, with accounts 6-8 blocked so it doesn't send or capture those clients.
Second boxing software such as Octopus where you can disable the keyboard and mouse hooks.
Set Octopus to ignore clients 1-5 and only control clients 6-8. With the kb/mouse hooks disabled, it would ignore local input.
Run Octopus as a client instead of server so it would take input from the Octopus server instance on the 2nd PC.

Of course, this is all conjecture as I don't have the PCs here to test it. And I'm not aware of a boxing app that supports both mac and PC environments, though you might be able to run Octopus in a Windows VM or something.

Bears some thinking on but it might just be possible.

Yea good fun, We did that in the center of SW, nothing like granting 30 levels to draw a crowd.:D

My roommate did that, and told the people who asked that is was part of a seasonal quest in Outland.
The reward was RAFweed, which he told them was soulbound, so he could not show them.
But that you could only do it to people who did the quest with you.

It was pretty funny.
