Ok so should I take this 13k and dump it into my two teams to all level up Alch/Transmute master? Play the AH game (which ugh sometimes seems like a fail boat)
What would you do?
If you went the Alch route Obviously the Ah wont have enough items to support 10 chars leveling up alch @ the same time Do I spread it out? I have one char that has maxed Herb... lol this feels like its going to be a bloody nightmare =P

I would get as much out of the AH that is reasonable and level them up 1 at a time. If you have someone that can herb then spend 1hr of playtime a day, if you have that much extra time to play, just farming the herbs you need. This will save you gold and fill whatever gaps you need that the AH can't provide.

Having done 9x engineers, 10x JC, and 15x alchs myself, typically what I find most efficient is to skillup the entire group at once BUT always keep one character ahead of the rest. So what I will do is skillup toon A 50-100 points, then follow suit with B,C,D. and E. This way you can identify where the bottlenecks are in the materials. When you hit bottlenecks you can take a break and do something else, just check back with the AH periodically to see when your bottleneck mats have respawned. On my server, the best time to buy gathered materials is on the weekend so your timing is great :D

I love the sarcasam.
Btw i made 5k gold today in 3.5 hours from herbalism alone. <3 frost lotus!
This seems more like a thread to troll me than an actual request for help. But i'm jumping on the bandwagon and just leveled 1 more team to 60, and am doing 3 more over the next two days. Then to 65 throughout the week, and power level alchemy as i do so buying herbs throughout the week when prices are decent.
if you enjoy alt teams so much then do that if you have RAF, if not then just suck it up and either take the less gold per day or do something like farm frost lotus/titanium.

just ribbin ya.
you'll be happier popping mutes for a few minutes a day and actually playing the game doing what you enjoy the other 5 1/2 hours imo. either way as long as you're enjoying yourself (even if it is farming resources) who cares wtf other people think you should like doing in game.

My team consists of:
Miner/JC
Inscription/Enchanting
Engineer/Blacksmith
Alchemy/Tailor
Enchanting/Tailor
I pretty much use my Alchemy Transmute each day, and learn my Inscription Recipe each day and do my JC daily. I then use my Bank Character to do a 'getall' scan of the Auction House and I buy out all the cheap materials, like cloth, ore, herbs whatever.
I then do Wintergrasp once a week, sometimes more if I feel like it. I make sure I do all the quests. If I have the time I AFK out of 10 5v5 Arena Matches to get base points.
Tuesday nights are very quiet for me. There are never any raids scheduled so I login all my team and I sit and craft:
Eternal Belt Buckles
Ammunition
Netherweave/Frostweave Bags
Flasks/Pots/Elixirs
Blue and Epic Gems
Enchanting Scrolls
I then use a mod called Quick Auctions 3. I setup groups that define things like bags, epic gems, meta gems, ammo, enchanting materials. It uses the values I setup each group with to undercut the current competition and post up all my auctions. I tend to post for 48 hours because I'm lazy and dont care that much about the AH anymore.
This is how I make my money. I can always keep my gear gemmed and enchanted and have lots left over to buy novelty stuff with. For instance I have a motorbike, a travelling tundra mammoth and I've bought plenty of other expensive boe epics and pets and other stuff. I expect I'll go into Cataclsym with well over 100,000 gold ready for whatever the next big money sink is. :)
I can see wanting a million alchemists and tailors, but at the end of the day thats alot of blue gems and eternals you need to find every day/4 days. Its alot of effort to keep all those x-mutes going. You will get bored of it. My method suits me because I can lazily stockpile everything I collect in my 6 slot guild bank then just spend one night queueing up stuff to make in Skillet and just click "continue" every 10 minutes or so while I watch Heroes or Hosue or something. :)

I'm just running dailies.
It would probably be smart to get a bunch of alchemists or tailors.
For the transmutes.
Would be making comparable gold to two teams running the dailies.
In much less time.
I'd imagine gems are here to stay.
So in Cataclysm, there will be transmutes the same as there are now.
Just different gems being transmuted.
I'm sitting at 30k on the alliance side (three teams running) and 10k on the horde side (one team there).
The goal was 100k, 75/25... so I'd have 5k per toon saved, against whatever cash sink there is for Cataclysm.
I'm tempted to do the transmute route.
It does not preclude the dailies.
Could continue to do them too, instead of, or with the transmutes.

personally i never played with ah: so cant say nothing about it. sometimes tempted...
this week got other 5 alchemists to 450, all master trasm: now i have 15 alchemists, 14 are master trasm. a good way to get at worst 2000g each day.
atm saved over 400k in my gbank:)
a nice amount for start some ah game, when gems/epics market crash: it will happen, soon or later

Well.. cost me 3,800g, buying herbs on the AH.
Did 0 to 450 Alchemy today.
Well, that includes the last six points of Jewelcrafting on my JC toon.
I had enough JC tokens to buy eight epic cuts.
Checking auctioneer historical data vs current average pricing.
It looks like 150-200g (assuming no transmutation procs) per cooldown is the profit after buying the mats for the transmutes, and having my JC cut the epic gem.
I've got 22 toons, high enough and with an open trade skill slot, to reach 450 alchemy.
It is roughly three sets of my daily route (@45 mins each), to pay for the alchemy leveling.
But I have three sets of 80's, who can run dailies if I want to run them in a day.
At 150g, it's basically 25 days of transmutes per toon, before they recuperate the cost of training them.
But, have the gold/income, to add an alchemist each day, or at least every couple of days.
Down the road, doing transmutes on 22 toons, sending to the JC to cut, and then placing on the AH...
Will be much less time then running dailies...
I'd imagine over time, the transmutes will gradually go down in value.
But still, 20x 100g... which is a drastic drop from 150-200g profit per transmute/cut at the moment... is basically as much gold in 10-15 minutes, as 90 minutes of dailies is currently.
And chances are good, there will be 75 pts of alchemy to do in Cataclysm, and then new transmutes.
And those will start off at a much higher profit then transmutes are making now.

Damn Im trying to get Alchemy up on 5 of my toons too but there are almost no preTBC herbs available on the AH so ive spent the whole day farming mats for 200-300 alchemy x5 and im still not done yet :(

the transmute way to go is slow but works a little for me. The more chars you have at 450 tailoring the faster and easier it will seem. If you make 3 cloth every 3 days it takes a while. If you make 15 cloth every 3 days, it dont seem to bad. :) and thats just if you have tailorig.

There was only one type of herb (Sungrass), which was not available on the AH.
Spent about an hour in The Hinterlands, running around for 60 of them (needed 55, according to the Alchemy guide I followed).
Farming sucks... but ultimately, several toons (eventually 22) with transmutes will be worth it.
I'd rather run dailies for 2.5-3 hrs, and buy the mats then farm them.

Yea actually i thought I could rush to 450 just by buying herbs from the AH - looks like i failed :( (as soon as i hit 300 I can buy my way to 450 though, yay)

1-300 is a nightmare... And to be honest I really REALLY wanted to do it this weekend but just couldnt muster the strength to do it.. I know this shit needs to be done and I really dont have a good reason why im not doing it. "Just Do IT" lol should be my motto. But I have such a one track mind at the moment and that battered hilt X5. I'm now @ 20k which on my server is only 2 hilts. I feel like I would be better off pumping that cash into Alchemy......

for alchemist: i collect herbs by myself till 300 or 350, here it s impossible levelling multiple alchemists at same time, for simple reason there arent herbs avaible in ah.
i spent my time on my 3 herbalists, playing them in rotation on 3 different locations at one time.
for me, key-herbs are:
at low level
- briarthorn -> i farm in silverpine(my server has low horde population, so its a great place, a short path) and hillsbrad
- bruiseweed -> hillsbrad and (better) wetlands
- stranglekept -> STV and coast of wetlands
at medium/high level
- goldthorn (a real issue)-> STV , Arathi, hinterlands, swamp of sorrows
- sungrass (same)-> hinterlands, WPL, blasted lands
- arthas tear -> WPL 100%, tour is medium
- buy if cheap Wildvine potion/wildvine herb, the purple lotus is in STV tour, hintelands tour, you need 10/15 per char.
- Blindweed -> swamp of sorrows
- plaguebloom (really a key herb) WPL 100%
- gromsblood (10 x char at least) Blasted land 100%
- 290->300 i alwasy buy Greater Protection Potion recipes in ah (usually 1-30g max for 1) and the relative elemental items (fire, water usually cheap, 10g max for 10). unvaluable method for go 290 to 300 with 10 dreamfoil (WPL and Hellsfire)
300+ depends by prices and avaibility: if there are herbs i buy, otherwize fast farm in outland(there we can fly). i buy all herbs 350->450.
who of my herbalists stay in a certain area ofc get all the herbs are useful for the whole alchemist levelling.
its long: can take a week, or more, if you start from zero herbs saved. ofc speaking about level 3 or more alchemists at same time.
i dont sell herbs. i store it. can be useful in future.
i use this guide, with some personal modifications, really adaptive to my personal situation/avaibility of herbs:

I used: http://www.wowguideonline.com/wow-professions/wow-alchemy-leveling-guide.html
The basic plan is to purchase as much as possible, over the course of 2-3 days.
And since I'll be doing 21 additional alchemists, if there are more then I need, there's no harm in buying extra when its available.
And to do the daily route (15 dailies, across one team) at least 3 times total over my 2-3 day cycle.
Which theoretically means, dailies pay for the alchemy leveling.
And a large portion of the herbs will be purchased and not farmed.
And it will be a two month process, give or take, to get all 22 Alchemists to 450.

It's going to suck yeah. But assuming most herbs do not cost you more than 1.5g each you can do it all for about 25k gold (35 alchemists in my case) It also helps to post on your realm forums or any outsourced realm forums saying you are looking for people to either help with your task or buy the herbs necessary. I've had a few people willing to help me farm herbs just because they know the potential money that will be made per week and know if they need help with something it will be given to them. Most of the items past 400 are under 20g per stack including lichbloom and icethorn on my server, so i'm not worried about those at all. The only potential sucky thing is the fact that you will need over 300 frost lotus... which on my server are 60g each. But that's not a really big deal if you are going to go the skyflare diamond way, which will end up reducing the amount of frost lotus required by 10 per character.

Im just looking to start alch/tailor on 3 people in my team. I saw the wow guide online thing and if you follow it too the letter you wont get to 300 they have a couple of points where they have you going into yellow and green without saying you need more then 1 per level. So I sat down yesterday and worked it out myself(Only 1-300 at this point), there is only 1 point where you go into yellow (85-95) and I doubled the mats required for those 10 points so if should be fine (I find you get about 4/5 for the first 5 into yellow and then it starts dropping) Also I tried to spread out what mats you use a little otherwise I would have needed well over 100 briarthorn if i went with the first one I started.
Also this is for Horde. Here it is if anyone is interested.

This is the resources I've used, having now leveled two alchemists.
Most of the recipes were Orange, but turned Yellow while using them.
One recipe was Green, for three skill points; took 4 and 18 combines.
I'd rather AH purchase everything, and use Dailies to fund it.
But if you want to farm something, or there isn't anything on the AH for a segment.
Also, using: http://www.wowguideonline.com/wow-professions/wow-alchemy-leveling-guide.html

I got 8 alchmey to 450 and did not farm a single item, bought all on AH. The way to do it is that you just buy whatever is available at a low price (i.e. 80 percent of market or less) for a few weeks and build up a big stock (I have 2 guild tabs full of herbs right now and an amazing 22 primal mights) buying up stuff on the cheap. Its impossible to tell what items you will find or not. One day a item could be 200 percent of market then the next 50 percent of market its all random.
Once you have a big stock THEN you start your run, you will hit some spots where you dont have the items but all and all you will have most of them if you prepared for a few weeks. Don't push it if you hit a spot where you need a item thats 150 percent of market or whatever just stop and work on another guy ....
You need a lot of goldthorn at the low level, and bruiseweed, also the blackmouth oil might help as an alternate route, then felweed, start stockpiling Charcocly or whatever (the blue thing) also you can use frost lotus for 340 plus or so but the sky meta gem is a bit cheaper. And that pigmy fish is good. Also you'll need a LOT of saronite bars (good to be able to buy ore and make the bars as thats also a bit cheaper.). Make sure you get the transmutation specilty asap before you start your saronite/titanium transmutes .... you'll be glad you did.

I've been told it has a lot of ads on it, but with Firefox/NoScript, I don't see any.

Sungrass has been a major pain for me as well. I have taken to doing Mithril -> Truesilver transmutes to bypass a small section of it.
But then you get them up and get the x5 Cardinal Ruby transmute and it is all worth it :)

I'm curious, what's your plan for 22 alchemists? The reason I ask is, if you are planning to make a killing I think you will be disappointed. My server (fairly average server I think) cannot sustain 5 alchemists a day, much less 22. Not unless you want to live on the AH while you are dealing with people undercutting you.
You might be able to corner the market I guess, but again, lots of time monitoring AH.
So what is you long term goal out of curiosity?

I'm doing the same, and i already have buyers for all my gems if i were to sell them on horde. If i were to x-fer them to alliance i'd be making atleast 30g more uncut, and 50g more cut (thats after both .05 and .15 auctionhouse taxes) there are many servers which can sustain someone with large amounts of gems. High pop pvp servers seem to be the case with high X faction to low Y faction ratios (example, illidan is 6 to 1 horde to alliance and is a full server)

I made a spreadsheet, which is basically the lowest priced mats for transmutes, and the lowest price for each cut gem, and it calculates profit. Of course there is the assumption that things sell.
So far I've got 5 alchemists doing transmutes each day. I list gems for 12 hours, and don't bother to relist if I am undercut. But I don't put up more then one at a time, even if I have multiples. I try to have one of each cut at a time, and then multiples of the gems which are selling the most. I'm willing to play the undercut game with the undercutters. There's one guy who checks fairly often, and undercuts me by 1 copper; the others seem to check the AH no more then once a day or so.
I've sold 8 out of the 16 gems I have produced so far. So the system seems to be working fine.
The goal is to be able to quit doing the dailies, which are incredibly boring and monotonous, while still retaining an income. All of my alliance toons have their epic flyers, aside from the leftover teams from RAF who are in the process of leveling to 68th for alchemy purposes. Horde side I'm sitting at 13k, but the toons are only 22nd and far lower priority then my alliance side toons; I'd like each to have epic flyers and they probably will have the gold before they're the level to need it. I wouldn't mind 5k per toon, as a cushion against whatever cash sink is introduced in Cataclysm.
At the moment, of the cuts I know, after the materials cost the profit range is decent.. My actual profits on the 8 gems sold:
Eye of Zul - Turbid 195g 21s
Ametrine - Empowered 192g 08s
Eye of Zul - Lambent 187g 21s
Dreadstone - Infused 176g 71s
Majestic Zircon - Solid 166g 34s
Dreadstone - Shifting 163g 29s
Dreadstone - Shifting 163g 29s
Ametrine - Lucent 159g 80s
Looking at the toons I have available, I could have 29 alchemists who are part of teams/character sets. I have 3 more toons who are not on any team, that likely won't level up but have the open trade slot if I really wanted to level them. If profits slipped to 100g per cut, I'd be quite happy regardless... that would be slightly more then I'm making per day now from dailies, in a fraction of the time.
So far, I am planning for 29 alchemists... The server economy is pretty strong alliance side. And horde side the AH is relatively dead; anything I transfer over (for 1 copper via the neutral AH) sells horde-side very quickly. Could sell gems there too, quite easily if I need to.

Not my creation, got it from this site, but prior to the forum change.
My link to the original post no longer works.
My route is....
Take every daily on the airship, except for the pvp one.
- Blood of the Chosen
- Slaves to Saronite
- That's Abominable
- Neutralizing the Plague
- Drag and Drop
- Not a Bug
- No Rest for the Wicked
- The Solution Solution
- Retest Now
Fly down to 63,51 and take the escort, killing Vyrkul along the way.
If the village area is farmed heavily (weekends), just run back down the way you came up on the way out, and Vrykul will respawn for you.
Once you get to the village, go to the Saronite caves, 57,57.
Rescue 10 slaves, then fly to 63,51 and turn in the escort.
Fly up to the wall and kill a giant for the spine (each toon can loot it).
Use the spine which gets you a Vial of Spinal Fluid.
Go into the cave, do Neutralizing the Plague.
Exit the cave, fly over the edge.
Do That's Abominable and The Solution Solution.
Fly east to Crusader's Pinnacle (79,72) and take the flightpath to The Shadow Vault.
At SV, take:
- Leave Our Mark
- Vile Like fire
- Shoot'em Up
Go to Jotunheim (33,24).
Put your slaves in a cannon, and enable mouse broadcast, and just spam "3" for shoot.
Exit the cannons, kill Vyrkul with your team.
Park your toons 10 feet or so away, and /use Ebon Banner on everyone at once, while targeting the corpse.
If you're too close or too far, a toon won't use theirs, but in the sweet range you get 5x credit for one corpse (5-boxing).
After three Vyrkul (15 banners planted), fly further into the village to where the drake mounts are.
Leave your team flying and only enter the drake on one toon.
Fly around and burn buildings, until you get all 8.
Fly west to Death's Rise 20,48.
Take:
- From their Corpses, Rise
- No Fly Zone
Fly down into Onslaught Harbor, land on a tower.
Kill the mob there and use the Elixir thing on the corpse.
Leave the slaves parked, gather a bunch with the main (fly) and bring them to the tower.
AoE them down, then use Elixir on the corpses.
Repeat until both quests are done.
Fly back to Death's Rise.
Turn in both quests.
Fly (gryphon) to Ebon Hold.
Turn in all three quests.
Fly SE towards 55,29.
Do Not a Bug.
Kill Necro's first and Voidwalker's second.
You have 10 seconds from the time you kill the VW to use the Rod on its corpse.
Each team member can use it at the same time.
Once you get 10 necro kills (interact with target, each toon can loot) and use the rod on 5 VW's, fly over the edge to the summoning stone 54,34.
Click the skulls with your toons (mouse broadcasting FTW).
Mount up and fly to the cauldrons 48,32.
Use your items to make Writhing Mass and use that near the cauldron.
Fly back up the steps, and enter the cave on the left.
Take your team to the left and have everyone loot the item in the middle chest (far wall).
Retrace your steps, go to the right side... very large table.
Kill the mobs around it, and loot the item at both ends of the table (from the chest, with everyone on the team).
Just beyond the far side of the table (deep into the cave) you can see the last (4th) chest.
Again loot with everyone. Then use the item with all toons, so they each get the combined piece.
The combined piece will survive a log out, but the four remains will not.
Having done the combine on all team members, have one of your toons reloot each item from the chest.
That toon will summon Alumeth, and after he is dead... re-combine the four re-looted pieces.
You only need to get the items from the chests every 6th day.
Exit the cave, and fly straight out... to 55,46.
Kill the Initiates until you get 3 orbs.
Use the orbs on the Subjugators.
Once you have all three, fly back to the ship, turn everything in.
You're done.
If you loot everything you'll have 1150g, if you only loot the mobs with quest pieces you'll have 1100g.
I get anywhere from 1 to 3 stacks of Frostweave, and from 0 to 5 greens, neither of which is included in the 1100-1150g.
Make this macro for each toon.
Place them on the same action bar in the same space.
Create a repeater region which covers the button.
So you can click on it with the main toon, and have everyone click.
It makes it a lot easier.
/use Flesh Giant Spine
/use Pustulant Spinal Fluid
/use Abomination Reanimation Kit
/use Ebon Blade Banner
/use Diluted Cult Tonic
/use Rod of Siphoning
/use Tainted Essence
/use Writhing Mass
/use Orb of Illusion
/use Darkmender's Tincture
I've made a separate button for the Neutralizing the Plague.
So only one toon uses the spinal fluid at a time.

I'll eventually have an even number of toons on each transmute type.
I'm not sold on Cardinal Rubies being worthwhile, unless I can farm the mats myself.
After dailies today, assuming a little more sungrass on the AH (or I'll farm a few stacks if need be), I'll add another alchemist.
At the moment, I'm doing:
- Ametrites (have 2 of the 22 cuts)
- Dreadstones (have 2 of the 13 cuts)
- Eye of Zul (have 4 of the 19 cuts)
- Majestic Zircon (have 1 of the 4 cuts)
I've got an alchemist on King's Amber, but need another day of the JC daily to open a cut.
- King's Amber (have 0 of the 6 cuts)
On my server, Cardinal Rubies are the highest priced gems, but after deducting the material cost, they are the least profitable of the gems. Profit (after transmute material cost) ranges from 95g 04s to 122g 33s.
Looking at my 14-day trend on gem prices, there are 21 more profitable Ametrine cuts, 13 more profitable Dreadstone cuts, 18 more profitable Eye of Zul cuts, and 4 more profitable Majestic Zircon cuts.

I just converted 4 warlocks to alchemy. I made over over 900g profit from the first 3 transmutes (two x2 procs). I'm doing all solid majestic zircons so far, for ease of buying a single type of material.
The other half of making money is running the Argent Tourney quests. There is the money itself, but the big win is in champion seals. I get 8 a day (no jousting) x4, for 32 total. It takes 40 to buy a pet, which I sell on the opposite faction AH for over 1k. So I'm making basically 80% of a 1k item every day.
My totals with 4 warlocks is 1k gold from they pets a plus cash on the dailies, and 800 + bonus transmutes x200. I'm looking at 2k gold with 30 minutes of dailies and 5 minutes of transmutes.

I don't like jousting, even with four toons adding dps from the side lines.
So, pretty much do it for a weapon, if there's no other drop/purchaseable weapon for that toon type.
All my upcoming druids will want the feral staff from Champion Seals.
My goal is a passive income source.
Just do the transmutes, cut the gems, mail to the AH toon.
And periodically list as necessary.
I'll eventually have a heroic (PvE team), alliance BG/PvP and horde BG/PvP team.
Wouldn't mind checking the AH for undercutting, every 2nd or 3rd heroic/BG.
Of the Alliance/Horde is a goal for both pvp teams, 100k HK's.
That's about as insane as "the insane".

Keep a lookout for any cheap uncut epic gems as well, to cut and relist. They can give you 40-50 gold profit with the added benefit of removing the option of people buying them cheap and getting them cut seperately (why buy uncut then have to find a JC to cut it, if they can buy yours already cut for 20 gold more)

On my realm, primor saronite sells for over 2k on ally side. As i am horde i can buy them for 1200-1400, depending on the day. (they are listed on AH from 1500-2k though, so i buy them through trade or in exchange for cheap raw epic gems). Even with the loss of getting my money back to horde, that is a nice few 100s k without much effort. However i buy mostly mats on ally side and trade those back to horde, to avoid the 15%

If you park a toon at each of the neutral auctioneers -- I have a character set called 'Transfer', configured in IS Boxer for this.... you can observe that no one else is near a neutral auctioneer, and that transfers are safe.
The regular auction house charges a listing fee, based on the merchant price of the item. It also charges a fee of 5% of the sale price of the item. If the item is sold, the listing fee is refunded.
The neutral auction house is the same in this regard, except that listing and sale fees are 3x higher then the Alliance or Horde AH's.
If your item is listed for 1 copper, ideally a 12 hour auction so you can list more auctions before your toons run out of their deposit fund, it only costs 1 copper on the recipients end to purchase the item. The listing toon does not lose anything to the AH cut, and since the item was sold gets the listing fee back.
You just need to make sure you cover all of the neutral auctioneers, so no one can buy your epic gems (or Frostweave Bags, Enchanting mats etc) for 1 copper each.
There is a neutral AH in Everlook (Winterspring), Gadgetzan (Tanaris) and two in Booty Bay (Stranglethorn Vale). The BB ones are a) by the bank; and b) in the lowest level of the house closest to the upside down rowboat.

If you are a multi boxer - run heroics - AH emblems in the form of secondary colour gems and keeper shards in the form of primary colour gems. If you are 5 boxing you will make 400-500g per heroic run (which should take less than 20-30minutes per run). Money problem solved. You would even make more if you worked on a JC and figured out which gems are selling right now.
Everyone is gearing up and needs new gems.

Finn i think your math is a little off either that or your server pays a ton for gems lets say you get an avg of 5 badges per toon per dungeon That is 2.5 gems per rune every 2 hours you get 20 stone keeper shards so thats not enough for even a honor token.
lets just say you bought the cheaper badge gems those sell for what 100-150max ish... Im not thinking your making an addition 300-350 gold in drops... But ive been wrong before...

With the 2 bonus emblems, the least amount you'll get for a run is 5. Average is over 6. That's 30 emblems per team, let's say 2 runs per hour. So 6 gems an hour. I'm averaging well over 175 per purple gem right now on Crushridge. I think people are just now coming into their new pvp gear and gems are selling very well. So that's 875 just from gems, plus at least 2 abyss crystals and 8 dream shards for another 100+ gold or so. Then 13g for finishing a random heroic x5, twice, so another 130g. You're looking at 1100+ pretty easily per hour (550+ per run)...at least on my server.
Then if you're lucky like I was last night, you get occulus and every gets a fistful of scarlet rubies which are currently going for around 70g each. That was a nice little bonus of 9 rubies from one run.

a 20 run breakdown (with wintergrasp) yields
12x ametrine/eye of zul/dread per roon (60 total)
5x cardinal ruby (from stone keepershards)
This equals(on my server) 100(60) + 140(5) = 6700 20 runs = 6 hours. That is not including anything else.
Theres a breakdown in another thread. But basically you are looking at about 1500g an hour or more average. Some servers upwards to 2500 depending on prices. If i were to x-fer my items to alliance and sell them there, i'd make an extra 40ish gold per gem uncut after AH tax... so i guess it's more than 6700 from just the gems. Doing heroics for 24 hours should yield somewhere over 40,000 gold. This is more than enough to get whatever you want, and is enough to level alchemy on 20+ characters.
I don't mind farming. With the increase in drop rate of frost lotus... yesterday in 2 hours while farming herbs for my alchemists (gold clover to be exact) i got 42 frost lotus in 2 hours. Yes i need these for alchemy but i need the other herbs a bit more at the moment so i pawned these off @ 70g per. So that was a total of about 1200g in an hour which is nothing to scoff at considering i'm ONLY selling the frost lotus.

Dailys is a simple and fast way to earn gold.
Does anyone have a list of boxing friendly dailys? You know.. Kill quests and NOT collect quests? Where is the best Dailys web guide out there?
/agree
The income is at least guarenteed and with the left overs you can ah the enchanting supplies you get from the greens. crystals and shards are pretty worthless, but dust can be entising some days, while gce's are always a good ah filler on my server :)
back to the dailies, if you are sitting on your computer waiting for auctions to sell, might as well be doing dailies, at least you get 1k+ per team per day imo

Most of the icc quest besides the fail collection qwest are multi friendly, combined with the argent crusade quests plus most of the soh quests is what I do when I don't want to lvl toons or dung grind.

Just felt for saying how i get gold, i got all professions at 450.
Before i used inscription and it gave me alot of gold, now i have a hard time selling the glyphs (i get undercutted to fast and i cba to repost all the time), one day i got 7k gold in 1 day from selling stuff at ah when i sold glyphs and other crafted things, but that doesnt happen often.
Eternal Belt Bucket sell for quite big profit (not sure exact amount but think its 2-5 times the craft cost that it sell for on my server, and it sell often, made 20 and they was gone in just a few days, cba to restack to often tho...).
Enchants sell once in a while, its not very common but they give about twice the crafting price when they are sold on my server.
Flask sell really good, both often and 40-50g / flask (alot higher than most other servers i know).
Got 6 alchemists that craft gems everyday, so just that gives 800g+ / day, i didnt think it would be able to sell all gems since we are so few on my side (i can ofc send them to horde side but havent done it yet, abit cheaper price there) but i sold every gem i crafted so far.
Also got jc with a few recipes, cba to get many recipes but those i got sell quite good so cutting some gems and sell and selling some uncut since i cant sell 7+ gems / day as cutted with so few recipes.
Transmuting Skyflare diamond also gives quite good profit, earthsiege diamond usually sell for about same as craft price tho.
Enchanting rods can also be sold for profit, used to sell them but cba to craft them.
Ofcouse i would get alot more gold if i just wanted, if i restock my items and such, but atm im at 40k gold, recently bough epic flying mount and hog for my paladins and lvled several alts engineering recently (almost all my chars got engineering, love it).
I like the way i get gold, i dont need to do a single daily or farm anything, just buy some stuff from ah once every second week or so and send it to the crafters, relog them and craft, send to seller and then loot mailbox and post auctions with 1 button press (selling once or more each day, usually 1-3 times).
Using Bulkmailbox (1 press to loot all items in mailbox) and QuickAuctions (1 press to post all items that is gonna be sold) to make it very easy, and still i get 1k or more gold each day.

There are two toons, besides myself who seem to undercut gems quite often.
I sent them both whispers, and one of them has agreed to match my price (and I'll match his) if we are the lowest priced gem sellers currently.
It doesn't hurt to talk with your competition.
And I'm really lucky this is the guy who was cooperative, as he's on much more so then the other guy.
The other guy is added to my friends list on the toon who most often leads each of my teams.
Whenever he is online, and in a zone with an auction house...
I know it's a good idea to check out shortly, to re-undercut him.

Do you manually post all your gems? because if you would automate it with an addon(RECOMMENDED) then that's not possible?

With auctioneer.. I can have it automatically undercut by 1 copper (or any other fixed amount, or by a percentage).
And I can set it to not have more then 'x' total auctions of a given item running at once.
I don't believe I can match the other guys price, if he's the lowest (which is my agreement with him) and still undercut (by 1 copper) anyone if they're the lower priced then myself or the other guy. At least not with auctioneer.
The ideal situation might be to find a buyer for uncut epic gems, take the 30g hit on not cutting them but then not have to manage anything like inventory or partake in price wars. Dailies got boring, which is why I've started the alchemy transmutes, but undercutting could be as much time but spread over more time. Something to look into anyway.

Does Auctioneer work as good as QuickAuction for posting items regulary in some way?
I use both of them, usually Auctioneer disabled tho (was a bug when both is on it can take longer time to post with QuickAuctions).
For QuickAuctions you set the price beforehand, like:
Infinite Dust
Dont post below: 1g
If noone posted: 3g
Undercut by: 1c
Post Amount: 20 / stack
Time: 12 hours
As a example (no i dont use those numbers xD), and then the addon automaticly post EVERY item with 1 button press.
I find it kinda annoying to have to drag all the items with auctioneer, then look if the price is really ok and set amount of stacks and stack size, QuickAuctions is just so much faster :)
Using auctioneer when there is some items i dont sell regulary like something i loot when i lvl a alt.

Auctioneer has a post auction feature that does the same sort of thing. Scan the AH, then go to Post and click on an item in your inventory. It shows the range of prices and allows match manual prices and put as many as you want up at one time.

does quickauction undercut both the bid and the bo or like auctioneer only the bo (which when lots of stuff are listed means your stuff may not get bought by careless people - who may buy the lowest bo showing on the first page when sorting... I know I do it sometimes when I buy stuff on a toon without auctioneer)

You can set auctioneer to undercut the bid as well, or to have the bid as a percentage of your buyout.
For the most part, it works by setting maximum percentages of the average price in which you will undercut (or overprice your auctions if you're the only one selling stuff).
You can configure it to go with your historical (overall) data, the last 3, 5, or 7 days of scans etc.
You have the option for fixed price auctions as well.
Appraiser is the part of Auctioneer which handles mass listings.
It gets you all the standard options, such as number of stacks (or all), stack size, only list 'x' stacks, duration etc.
You can hit refresh for any given item, to see each person who is listing the item.
You can hide the item from Appraiser so you don't accidently bulk list it.
You can check to add it to the items you bulk list.
There's a button for bulk listings, if you alt click it, it will refresh all of your batch post (checked) items.
If you alt + ctrl + shift click it, it lists all of your batch checked items.
Some things like rare recipes, I always sell at a fixed price.
My assorted toons purchase them for 35 silver or whatever.
And then mail them to my auction toon for the faction (or to my neutral AH transfer toon, for recipes the other faction cannot get).
And then the auction toon will list at a fixed price, with the "only list 1 of this item" checked.
Most things, I want to refresh the view to see what others are selling for, and to undercut them by 1 copper.
One of the better selling items, is alliance faction specific (unlimited quantity) vendor pets, like the kittens, rabbits and moth eggs.
They cost between 30 and 50 silver each.
And sell for 7-15 gold each on the horde side.
I make in the neighborhood of 500g a week doing this.
Interestingly enough, the horde pets sell for crap on the alliance side as there are so many people undercutting constantly; you're lucky to make a 50s profit on a pet which cost you 50s to buy.

Quick auctions 2 offer the functionality you are looking for (undercut everyone except the people you specify) this used to be especially useful to me as had 1 banker per account as I was listing and relisting so much.
I recommend using QA2 and auctioneer in conjuction as they do compliment each other quite well.

hmmm I'll have to check the options screens again because by default my auctioneer only undercuts the BO price and not the bid - hopefully I'll find the option - thx

I used to be able to access auctioneer via: /auctioneer help.
Now I can only access it, via the configure button in the auction window.
There aren't as many options there.
Specifically I want to reset the data on a few herb types.
As auctioneer is showing the pricing as 999% of normal.
But over the last month, the price is consistently much higher then the long-term data.
I cannot find this option in the configure menu.
But the old /auctioneer help, listed the text command for purging data for a single item.
