My Disc Priest: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kil%27jaeden&n=SatinWorship

I love my disc priest, I'd love to have him as my boxing healer, but OMFG BUTTONS!. Shielding everyone, PoM, Flash heal, Pain suppression, Renew, etc etc

With only 4 mouse buttons, I'm currently using VuhDo and Repeater regions to do the following;

Left Click: Flash Heal
Right Click: Shield
Mouse3: Greater Heal
Mouse4: Pain Suppression

I don't want to buy a razor mouse with a million buttons, but I may have to go back to using ClickBoxer for some stuff.

Anyone running Disc have a better method of doing things?

VuhDo lets you use modifiers. I have LClick: Flash Heal Shift: LClick: Penance Button3: Renew Alt LClick: Greater Heal, etc.

Aye, the problem for me with using modifiers is simple hand movements

(@ Fur, No I won't use my feet >.> )

I use my left hand on the nostromo N52, right hand on the mouse, I don't have any modifiers bound to the N52, although that would be one option. The problem I have comes in when I use a modifier + clicking my hand is off the n52 which means I'm no longer tanking or DPSing, which is fine for 1 or 3 seconds, but much longer than that, I'm losing too much threat / dps

Honestly, I wasn't able to "comfortably" heal my multibox team until I had the Razer Naga. I dont' even use all the buttons - just enough to cover my needs.

Using modifiers + mouse thumb buttons - you could easily pull this off. No feet required (coward).

I prefer holy, i just hot up my tank with renew, PW:S and PoM, and for nearly all heroics thats all I need, unless i start pulling more. Then i just toss a few flash heals or greater heals, and im good. AoE healing is insanely easy... for Brohnjam i just spammed the big aoe heal, and watched my whole team go from 50% to full over and over. I've been meaning to try Disc, but haven't felt the urge. At least the gear is the same.

When you get into Min / maxing and raiding, Disc gear is different from Holy gear, but it's not *too* far off Shadow gear. So that's why I've been pretty stuck on Disc. I think I'm going to end up writing up a new Clickboxer UI for it and use it for the extra buttons I need along with the repeater regions.

Fursphere, how do you like the Razer Naga? I just looked it up and it looks pretty cool.

Reason i am asking is that i just got into a guild and now tanking. I found that when i do any melee i always click, but when casting i also use the buttons. What i was going to do is use to keypads (I am right handed), use the left for moving and the left to cast spell (yes i know i can move with my mouse, but just so use to moving with left hand). I am thinking this mouse will help because i only have a couple spells tanking.

Right now i am using the logitech G5 mouse (old school one with 1 side button) and love it. I heard that the wow mouse is good but not worth the money. Would you suggest getting one?

At first I hated it - its small compared to the "average" logitech mouse.

But I've grown to like it - although it did take awhile. Prepare to rethink your mouse usage if you pick one up.

I run my disc priest with a fall-through style mouseover setup.
Basically:
/cast [@mouseover,exists,help] spell
/cast [@target,exists,help spell
/cast [@targettarget,exists,help] spell
/cast [@player,exists,help] spell

I have most of my heals on my mouse (mx1000) with the exception of a few. This way I can just leave my priest on FTL Assist and he heals whoever is being attacked by my DPS targets and in a pinch I can mouseover for spot heals.

I have a holy priest. I have buttons bound to the number pad then a cast sequence on my g1-g5 keys for each toon renew, flash heal, greater heal. My numberpad + is the cast sequence of renew, greater heal, greater heal, flash heal on the tank. My numpad enter does the aoe heal. My numpad 3 does shield and prayer of mending. My numpad 9 does the instant aoe heal. My F1-F5 put shields on people. I never use those keys because I just heal any damage.

IMO, Disc > Holy, especially for a boxer.

I've got Holy Nova on a mouse thumb button.

Then have Renew and a castsequence Penance, Flash Heal, Flash Heal, Flash Heal... on keyboard keys, mainly for healing if someone is not in my party/raid.

I use Grid + Clique, which will be functionally the same as Vuhdo.
- Alt + Left = Renew
- Alt + Right = Shield
- Ctrl + Left = Penance
- Ctrl + Right = Flash Heal
- Shift + Left = Pain Suppression
- Shift + Right = Greater Heal

Once you learn your clicks, it's pretty easy.
The learning curve sucks, but I did that with the Dungeon LFG tool.
The priest was actually booted from groups twice, in the early process.

Disc vs Holy is going to be a preferance thing. I don't have click regions - which I think is vital to making Disc work. Holy is pretty "fire-and-forget" PoM is so strong that on most content you hardly need anything other than PoM.
Renew, Holy Nova and PoH are there as gravy. On longer/tough fights I sometimes use Greater Heal.

Playing my Holy Priest Solo I've done DF groups without ever stopping as a challenge - not letting myself use anything but instant cast, and just running in a circle for the boss fights. The fact that I can do that and not even come close to wiping my group says a lot about the strengths of Holy.

Of course, the final 51 point talent really isn't worth the loss of the 21 point talent in Disc. Instant PW:S w/o CD is much better than a panic button that you'd not need if you had good planning to start with (and an Instant PW:S is more likely to save someone... and not on a stupid long CD).

For mboxing, I find the only time I'm losing health is when I forgot to cast PoM. I'm seriously going to toss it into my castsequence at some point... I just need to rethink my button layouts :P
Tier9 set bonus for PoM also really helps. Very Tasty.

I run Disc... or use to run, have not played in well, more than a month, love Disc healing, honestly most instances I run are jokes. I really rarely heal my dps, all heals are mostly for the tank, if I do lose control of the mob and they attack my dps/healer I just use Holy Nova. Would probably work better as Holy but have never really liked holy, I do fine as Disc maybe I gimp myself but its a personnel preference.

I have my healing macro set up on 3, 7 does renew on tank, 0 does shield on tank, num2 does healing on self for everyone other than tank. And thats about it, macro includes, flash, heal, greater heal, I always have JoW on the mob and my priest wands on 2 my main DPS button, so no issues on mana, other than when there is some AOE damage and I have to holy nova heal a lot.

Edit. Oh yeah PoM is on 4 as well as totems so that one always goes of, oh also on macro tied to 2.

Macro on FKeys helps me. I run 4 only, so for my Horde team, still very very low in level, I have F9-F12 set to target specific party members by name then cast what ever I have on that macro. Same macros on each button, only targets different members. I also use the 6 buttons above my arrow keys (Ins, Home, PU, Del, End, and PD) for my Pally team to heal, but also on my my mixed team. I only use my mouse for my main toon to select, attack, and auto run. No mouse broadcasting unless it's for an AoE. I'm only using Keyclone, and no IS, so it's still tricky and a bit slow/laggy, so I don't use it much. My main priest however leads my 3 Hunters. When I run them, I use Healbot instead. this way I don't loose my target when Healing. Oh, and yes, he is Disc with just a few points in Holy. Bynton on Earthen Ring if you wanna see his spec. Not the best, and not yet 70, but I don't wipe in instances much either.

I've got my disc set up on the numpad keys, 1-5 is for each toon in the team, and then mod keys do different spells.

nomod is a castsequence of penance, and then enough flash heals to compensate for the CD (at work right now, so don't know the exact amount), with a reset=10 (I think that's the CD on penance with the glyph).
mod:ctrl is renew
mod:alt is PW:S

numpad 6 I use for spells that I'm probably only going to be casting on the tank
nomod is Prayer of Mending
mod:ctrl is Prayer of Healing
mod:alt is Pain Suppression

Holy Nova's on z.

For my Disc priet, I use a /click macro, set up to click a priority, healing the target of my tank:

1. Penance when not on CD
2. a sequence that starts with 12 seconds of blank space, and then a greater heal and prayer of healing.
3. Power word Shield on a 15 second macro cooldown.
4. prayer of mending when off cooldown.
5. renew every 15 seconds
6. a spam prayer of healing button for AOE healing intensive encounters. otherwise, I leave it blank
