Hello,

after my first Dual-boxing attemps a year ago, I quit WoW due to time issues. Now I am back on an IMAC i5 with 4 GB RAM and starting to 5 box.

Yesterday I set up my team, consisting of a Pala and 4 priests of which one will be healer the others Shadow. This is due to the fact, that I can not be an Alliance Shaman without BC, otherwise I would have taken 4 Shamans instead.

The first thing I am worried about is being able to 5 box on the IMAC. I have a second monitor and the 4 Slave WoWs are set to the lowest possible graphics and no sound. I made a single copy for each instance, cause I do not like to change aournd in the settings all the time. I know its not the best thing especially considering patching, but it works.

So is there anybody 5 boxing on a similar machine and has some experiece to offer?

The next thing is that I came from 2 Accounts, so I did a RAF from each of them, so I now have 2 Teams of rafs instead of the chained ones. One of the raffed ones has a subsequent RAF on it as well. I belive when testing my setup yesterday night, it seemed I did NOT get the 3 x Experience when doing (meaning finishing) the first 2 quests in the human starting area...(killing a few wolves and ) though I got the 3 x XP while killing the monsters.

Any Idea?

Kind regards, Jens

How are you managing keystroke broadcasting? With Innerspace, you can run all instances from the same WoW folder and maintain individual settings.

Also, with ISBoxer, you can customize the way your keystrokes AND mouseclicks are broadcasted pretty much any way you want.

I'd take a look at IS Boxer, as your software solution for boxing.

The wizard will get you a working start point in under a minute.
There are several videos for IS Boxer.

In addition, you can configure/change the defaults in a lot of ways.
My guide (see my signature) is a walkthrough of a lot of changes.
Which get you the idea of what can be changed and how.
It's basically a starting point for changes you want to make.
But you can play with the default set up the wizard gets you, without any changes.

It gets you auto FTL.
Just drag wow spells from the spell book to the action bars.
When you press 1, each toon casts the spell on 1, but at the target of the active toon.
No wow macros required.

When you want mouse broadcasting.
For say Hurricane, Blizzard, Mass Dispel, etc.
IS Boxer is very strong in that regard, turning on broadcasting for a click and then turning it off automatically.
Plus you can manually turn on broadcasting, which is another very strong feature.

You won't find a better way to heal then via Repeater Regions.

It offers a lot of power and flexibility.

For the RAF.

You have two accounts A and B.
And have added three accounts.

So A -- C -- D and B -- E.
C & D are two new accounts, attached to one existing account.
And E is another new account, attached to the other existing account.

You could have even gone:
A -- C
A -- D
B -- E
Makes no difference.

If all five are grouped together, you'll get RAF at the same rate across all of the accounts.
Assuming they're all the same level, and grouped together.

If you are boosting.. as in one higher level toon, quickly killing things for the lowbies.
You'll need to ensure the other four accounts are all RAF linked to at least one other lowbie account.

So:
A or B is your booster.
The other has a lowbie who is being boosted on it.
If your link was... A -- C -- D... and B -- E... you can boost with A fine, but not with B.
If your link was A -- C, A -- D, B -- E.. then you cannot boost, since C/D/E are all dependent on having a lowbie on A/B grouped with them.

Does Innerspace even work on a mac? Maybe with bootcamp type options. I hear Plexer is pretty good, and there is anonter program like that coming out. Look in the Software forum.
On a PC, 4 gigs will barely run 5 toons, but your mileage should be different.

Thanks for all the answers !

ISBoxer and Innerspace are not Mac :-(
I am using clonekys (which is fairly slow, meaning that in,y 2-3 of the slaves get the actual keystoke) which is a baisc. I need something more advanced tehre but for now it works.

For the performance I have to say its all fine on my iMac. I have 4 Slave windows on an extra Monitor no sound and lowest grahips options possible and l am playing the master on the macs screen itself in a window. Still using nothing but questhelper and jamba on the slaves and the full set you might want on the master (nui, unit frames fubar and many more) I am going at 30 - 50 fps with all graphis and sound options set to maximum.

RAF ist clear as well, I expected the Quest XP to be 3 times of what is written in the quests description, but the client is smart enough to display the 3 x XP from a start, so its working fine I was just getting it wrong.

So I am kind of happy for the moment, still I see theres gonna be a lot of improvements to be made especially to the keycloning, which is way to unreliable. And if I had something, thant organizes the windwos for me (WoW does not remember them) I would be more than happy.

Cheers, Jens

You mean a program like maximizer, but for mac? I know it exists as i've installed it years ago on a mac for my dad. And it was free (well might 've been shareware as i got it from a cd that was included in a magazine). When i get there i'll dig the old mac up and check the name.

OK I am at level 23-24 on all my toons now, and I found it is not as fast as desired:

1. I use Gude Tour with the special Multiboxer RAF Guides everthing is english, so its sometimes) hard to find out which quests I have to take (translations are not one to one 50% of the time) takes lots of time
2. I never played up a char on azuremyt / bloodmyst isle, so I did not know any of the quests, which also took time
3. I put a lot of time in progamming macros and whenever new skills are available, I updated hte macros
4. Its my first team, I very often have to do things to make it work

As a resumee I would say with my next team I would be 5 times faster !!!

What I will try out is INI Levelling, which should also work great. Anyone´treid and ghot some info?

Cheers, Jens

Just a point, because i have not seen it mentioned anywhere. I had a hard time getting my RAF set up correctly. I was very careful in sending out invites and trying to do it as it made sense. Anyway, long story short, it took two calls to bliz customer support to get it straight, and getting laughed at bu both the employees for owning five accounts I might add, but they got them chained correctly. if you are not getting your RAF benefit like you would like, give em a call.

Edit, I just saw you have this figured out. Cheers!
