The weekly is Malygos. Also remember, new Arena Season starts today = New VoA boss, We'll be doing VoA every week from now until further notice.

I thought this was genius until I realized there are encounters (Ick and Krick, I'm lookin at you!) where I need to hit auto follow a few times during the event. That would pull up my totems =(

Hmm yeah good point. I have a mouse button set to drop totems and one set to pull them so its just kind of natural for me to drop and pull totems without thinking about it now.

There are conditions for not pulling totems when in combat, like /cast [nocombat] totemic recall

which would work for the majority of the time, on trash, etc and should help avoid totems pulling pats.
