I'm looking for a way to copy my UI from one toon to be the same on all shamans.

Currently I have to configure them all indivisually which is extremly tedious and I can never seem to get it the same on all.

So how can I copy the UI from my main shaman to be the exact same UI settings on all shamans? I use a single computer for the boxing.

Thanks

Most of it is addon specific. For example, with Xperl you will have to copy .lua files from one character to the next in your WTF->Account folder. You may be able to import in templates that you have saved, but I am not sure how to do this. It works this way for most addons so XPerl may be a bad example. I know it works this way for VuhDo. I use a program by Microsoft called SyncToy. It makes this process simple.

It really isn't the friendliest of setups but this is how I finally ended up creating idenitical UI setups.

Start with 1 logged in character and begin to layout your UI. Many of the addons will have a section in their settings called Profiles. Make sure the profile is named default

Some addons do not have profile settings at which case they will either copy over settings fine or you will have to tweak that particular addon.
Some addons don't seem to save all needed settings under profiles so you may have to tweak that addon as well.
When you create a new profile under the addon all previous updates you made will be cleared. You can either set the profile name before adjusting the addon OR after you set the profile name you can usually copy from profile Within this option just select the previously used profile name after you set your profile to default.

After you set all your addons and your UI layout is complete exit WoW.
Go into your Wow --> WTF --> Account folder and copy the directory of the account you setup.

If you want to copy your settings to another char within the same account you will have to go 2 levels deeper and copy the actual character named folder and paste. Rename the folder to the characters name you want to setup.

Paste the copied folder. Rename the folder to the account you want setup.
Go 2 levels deep and you will rename the character folder to character you are setting up.
Log into WoW with the newly setup character.
Go into each addons profile and set the profile to default.
Reload UI.
Tweak any setting that did not get copied over.
Rinse and Repeat with other characters.

Example:

I log into Wow with CHAR1 under account ACCOUNT1
I setup all the profiles in the addons to default and tweak my UI.
Exit Wow

Copy and Paste the directory:

E:\World of Warcraft\WoW\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT1

Which will give you

E:\World of Warcraft\WoW\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT1 - Copy (or some variation of duplicate folder)

Rename to:

E:\World of Warcraft\WoW\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT2

Goto

E:\World of Warcraft\WoW\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT2\SERVERNAME\CHAR1

Rename to:

E:\World of Warcraft\WoW\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT2\SERVERNAME\CHAR2

Log into WoW with the CHAR2 account. Set all addon profiles to default. Tweak. Reload UI. Done..

Hope this helps. Post any questions.

If you were to go through the configuration options for each addon.
With one account only.
And set it as you like it.

Which might require to start from the default, stock and unconfigured settings.
Just so you are sure every option and box is in the exact same position/setting across all toons, at the start.

The catch -- do the configuration with mouse and keyboard repeaters on.
So any change you make to one, is done to the others at the same time.

Important note: make sure you login to a new character at least once to create that folder. There is a bit of code that WoW apparently executes the first login to any character which blows out that character's config folder to defaults, regardless of whether settings files exist. At least, that's been my experience.
