Hi all,
so anyone got any insight into organzing their bag space? I am constantly having to dump stuff in dungeons to try and clear space.
What size bags are everyone using?
I feel like I am hoarding stuff but when I look through my bags it seems there is not much that I can just throw away, it always seems like "I may need it for an alt" lol
Any insight?

Send it to your alts. Create bank alts. Use the biggest bags you can afford. Buy bag slots in your bank. Buy the biggest bags you can afford for you bank slots. There is no magic suggestion to tell you besides the obvious.

Well I have done most of the above, including have my own guild bank. I also have used Altoholic addon in the past to track stuff but it was causing issues since 3.3 for me. Is there another addon which tracks stuff on other toons so that I can see what everyone has and search for mats etc if needed?

Single bank alt - In the same guild as team, receives and sells stuff, organizes bank vault
Enchanter in group - break down that stuff, keep a large enchanting back on this character

Addon - Passloot - I set my enchanter to auto DE everything and everyone else to pass except my main. My main can need an item and pass it to whoever needs it, otherwise it gets disenchanted and bagged easily.

Jamba - use the autosell grey items option

Crafting alts - characters made specifically for each craft. I don't do this in WoW currently, but I've done it in the past in other games. Each character receives and stores items specific to his craft. Using bank tabs or individual bank slots/bags may work here too.

Mostly I like to keep everything either on the character that uses it (#2 is my enchanter, he has all the mats) or keep it in the hands of my bank alt.

Bank alt on each account. While I only use one main bank alt, I have 4 so they can pick things up and mail them to the team on the same account for instant mail.

The minimum size bag you should have is 18, probably 20 (they only cost around 65g on my server).

Additionally, how are you entering dungeons? I'd suggest using the port straight to dungeons from standing next to a vendor who you can sell to. Then you can port out, sell and port back in.

I think I am gonna take a look at the above loot and enchanting options. I have all toons with 20 slot bags and I do have my toons leave dungeons where they stand beside a repair guy. I also have jamba autosell greys.
I think having enchanting bags might help, adding 32 slot enchanting bags would help a lot I think :)

Sounds like you are holding onto too much stuff. Once you have a team that can pound out dailies start selling your junk. The stuff you are holding onto now (probably boe blues and what not or crafting items for alts) you can get later when you actually need them. I used to hold alot of BOE 80 blues but now you can buy so much better that it was better for me to DE them and sell the mats.

All my toons carry netherweave bags which is plenty for me. The only toons that carry anything larger are my tanks and my enchanters, and my 3 gatherer's. I never run out of bag space as it is. Not sure what you are holding onto that takes up that much space.

I use 4x 20 slot bags + 20 slots in everyone's bank. I almost never run out of space :_D

All of the above and use the TBag addon to manage my bags.

It lets me see all my alts personal and bank bags and can be configure for, organization, etc ...
You can also search through all the alts bags for items, both on person, in the mail and in their bank bags.

Cheers,
Sean.

For more bag space you can run ony and fos. They both drop 20? 22? Slot bags, there's never much comp
for ony's bag these days. I've found since I completely emptied my quest log I never run out of bag space. Alot of the crap I had was quest items. That's with a tank and dps set it my bag at all times. Plus yeh I also send all greens and boe blues to my enchanter to de. Tho soon it's gonna be cheaper to vendor the greens...

The bags from FoS are unique, I have one on each toon, the 20 slots drop a lot.
I have used TBag in the past but think I might revisit it. I currently use Arkinventory.

I shard all blues, bop or boe, I sell everything, and just re buy what I need later. I use bagnon as aekinventoru wasn't patched as fast when 3.3 went live. Mailbox mods help to mass open mail from alts and ah proceeds.

I also use bagnon. Bagnon also now lets you see the inventory of your alts on that acct. Much like altoholic.

I set loot to FFA and loot it all with one character. My chars have 4x24, 4x22/1x20, 1x22/3x20, and 2 have 4x20 bags. I do the LFD queue next to a vendor, and I pop out with the main, auto sell all grey items and food (with Jamba), and re-queue. When my bags start getting full even after vendoring, I trade all cloth to my tailor, all greens to my enchanter, and eternals/orbs to a 3rd slave.

Max bag space, magewater trading addon to automatically trade cloth / shards to various toons during instances when near and I cannot mammoth stuff, mammoth mount for vendoring quick, guild bank, squire that does my banking.

I usually use the squire for tradeskill cooldowns.

But now that you can heart / teleport out of dungeon and back in if you used the finder, a lot of this is moot.

Add another for Bagnon. I also have 2 guild banks, though I only use one right now.

I DE everything I'm not going to use {always have a DE toon on my team} and sell all BOE blues that aren't going to be used in the next month. I also sell all DE mats over a certain amount. Cloth get turned into bags and Threads and sold. Leather gets turned into furs and/or Armor kits and sold. I only hold herbs I can use for Research. I keep a certain amount of useable pots I get from Alchemy Research and sell anything else. Money is easier to store than raw mats.

Use the mail box as free storage space. Mail all non-soulbound items to another toon. After it bounced back and about to get deleted (total 60 days i think), mail again.

1. Issue with mailbox are the dozens of AV marks of honor mail i get. I have no clue what to do with them and my inbox is always full with them.
2. What takes up many inventory space is the 2 alternate sets of gear i have with me (dual spec pve + pve set). When you take a good amount of food with you + potions that adds up very fast.

Is there really a need to carry 2 extra sets of gear? Use the dungeon finder to get to dungeons and the port script to pop back to the bank and back when you actually need to swap gear.

/run LFGTeleport(IsInLFGDungeon())

I don't understand how you can have bagspace issues with 4x the amount of bagspace single boxers have. Offcourse you might have 3 gearsets on every toon and proffesion stuff, but still you got more bagspace.

Here's what i do:
main loots everything and has inscription, so from time to time i carry 2 32 inscription bags with me to mill / make inks while waiting for stuff.
slave2 is enchanter, he gets all shards etc which i loot with my main, same goes for greens and epics i want DE'd.
slave3 has about 60 free bags slots normally, no other gearsets or proffesion yet.
slave4 is my banker/AHmule. His bags are filled with all kinds of crap, since i often can't be arsed to put stuff on the AH. Everything that doesn't get vendorred goes to him to eventually end up on the AH.

slaves got 20 slots and 16 slots bags, i'm not sure how many slots each toon has.

First off i didn't want to state that i have a real 'problem' with bag space, due to many alts. Was just adding that to the topic.

On your question: yeah i need those sets. I do use the dungeon teleport. However i'm a rather new player and don't master all the hc's yet, about 50% of them. So there is always a good chance that i just boot when i draw the wrong one. As i have a few dungeons that i do every day to farm badges, i usually travel there. And i mix that up with pvp and daily quests. So i'm usually outside of town and it's not very practical to have my suit in the bank. I only forget about it and then ends up in a hc with a pvp set.

So due to this i have to pay more attention how i setup my bank / inventory slots than i'd want to do. Which is not a real problem, just a minor annoyance.

Generally speaking a boxer should never end in trouble with storage though.

Thanks everyone for all the great views and feedback. Gonna try some of the mentioned bag add ons instead of Arkinventory :)
Also gonna try and cut the cord on some of the BoE blues I have been carrying lol.
Again thanks for the help :)

I'd love to have my enchanter auto DE all the greens and blues. Is there a trick when using FFA loot so that you can still get the roll bar on items so that my slaves can auto pass, and then enchanter auto DE? I find it more of pain in the ass when using non FFA loot, as you're forced to loot on all the slaves.

I have tried to do that type of sorting in Arkinventory when I started using it last year but could never get it to work for me, is there a video guide for setting it up somewhere, I looked on youtube at the time and could not see one.
Also with the bag add on that show all your toons, are they account or do they show across multiple accounts ? I cannot remember if altoholic worked across multiple accounts or not.

I found that its really a matter of dicipline to keep the bags empty.

I absolutely hate having no space in my bags. I always try to keep my bags clean, but having to do 5*5 16 slot bags + bank bags, and guild bank can take quite some time.

Last month I cleaned out all my bags, DE everything possible, crafted stuff on my profession, and DE all the items. Then sold everything I had in excess.

I was storing low lvl herbs to be able to lvl inscription, and ore to be able to lvl engineering, and jewels etc. for jewelcrafting.

I sold everything. Made a "heap" of gold and god my bags cleared out.
