Hi guys!

After seeing some multi boxing movies, reading stuff and finaly finding this site I tought I wanted to give dual boxing a try, but my problem is: WHERE TO START!!!

So annyway, what I hope to do is using 1 computer, 2 monitors and play 2 rogues with shadowstep.

What I have atm:

AMD 3200+ 64 bit
Radeon 9700 pro
1024 ram
1 19" tft
and the nostromo.

What I'm hoping to get soon:

Another 19" or 2 24" tft
2048mb ram

Will this be enough, or is it just better to hook up 2 pc's and play more smooth.

From what I have tested using 2 monitors and playing both on 1 PC is that the 'main' monitor will have nice FPS while the secondary will suffer and the fps gets cut in half or maybe even more. So it will appear somewhat choppy.

As well melee classes aren't that effecient for dual-boxing or higher if you play more than 1.

First, try out running 2 wow clients at the same time and see if you can bear the performance, from there I would suggest testing different classes to see what you like. If you can manage to get 2 rogues to always stay on top of a target it may be possible :)

I personally recommend multiple computers. You can get a second WoW box for about $200-$300 so it's not that spendy and it makes multiboxing a lot easier in my opinion (especially with keyboard broadcasting software).

If you do go with two games on one box turn off sound. For some reason having the sound on (even if it is disabled when in the background) kills your FPS on a single machine. I used to dual-box on one machine with sound on and I would get 10fps. Once I turned sound off I can 3-box on one machine and get 20fps on each.

Yeah I noticed that too about the sound. Reason I found out about it improving the FPS is because my sound was so choppy that I decided to turn it off and noticed an improvement.
