Howdy yall,
Been playing this game casually with my friend, taking a break from boxing wow before the expac, and enjoying the experience. Have a 31 guardian at the moment.
Considering adding a 2nd or maybe a 3rd account to mess around in skirmishes, and was thinking about what id take.
Do you guys mind sharing your team comp and why you chose what you chose?
Thanks (Assuming anybody reads this subforum =P).

5 Runekeepers and 1 Guardian
The guardian is my point man and always hold the foe down while my Runekeepers lit em up, because of the strong survivability of the guard i usually can switch a RK to heal mode without getting aggroed.
Since you thinking of 2 or 3 a runekeeper or a minstrel would be good to pair up with your guard.
When i do 3-mans i use my guard, a captain, and a runekeeper. the guard has a herbalist, the captain has a warrior, and the runekeeper a protector. it works good when i finally got the helpers up to level 65 heh.
The captains herald is way smarter so i usually have them out as well. anyway have fun :)

if you're going to continue playing your guardian, then go with runekeepers. They're a boxers wet dream in lotro and will be able to both dps and heal your tank..
if you don't want to go with the guardian anymore, go with all wardens. wardens are seriously op.

I'm going 1 Warden and 5 RK's. At this point (level 12) everything goes BOOM so quickly. I am not so sure about instances etc. I may have to switch to a Guardian for survivability.

I've been running a mixed team: Guardian, Captain, Minstrel, Hunter, Lore Master, and a Rune Keeper.
I've been having a lot of fun with them, a little more work setting up stuff in Inner Space but I think its worth having the utility the different classes offer.

Wouldn't the warden be hard to box with his combos and what not?
I finally got ISboxer working, had some issues getting the keys repeating...
How are you guys setup? I think WoW has me spoiled as far as setting up the interface for boxing, I dont even see that I can make a follow macro here (though i think i saw somebody bind it to a button with a text command).
No macros, no castsequences etc... how are you guys setup?
Thanks for the answers, appreciate it.

Well there's multiple ways to create macros in LOTRO. I three box currently, I have two hunters and a minstrel. I use a Logitech G15 keyboard to create strings of commands. You for instance can bind mutable key presses to one key macro.. so I have one that is (F2 /follow Enter) This selects the 2nd person in my fellowship, always being my leader of course because the leader of the fellowship is always at the top of the list. oh and follows him.
You could then make any combination of commands etc. I have three machines running LOTRO, and use Input Director to switch between them. The Logitech macros work on all machines, one of IDs handy features.
I play on the Brandywine server, and am one of the head officers in the Brandywine Brewing Co. we have a lot of dual boxers in the kin. If you are interested you can check us out at brandywinebrewingco.com
My mains name is Laoden, but often I'll be on my RK Laoniitas or hunters Laoborn... etc

Sorry, I don't have any video capture software.
As far as my setup, all my characters have the guardian targeted and use the auto skill forwarding option to attack his target.
I have several Keymaps, some with steps, in ISBoxer to handle various different things.
I have one set up to debuff: the first step does all the non agro debuffs (the Captain marks the mob, the Lore Master casts Sign of Power: Command, and the Rune Keeper casts Fall to Storm), and the second step has the Lore Master cast Fire-Lore.
I have a combat keymap that has a bunch of steps and cycles through skills on all the characters. I have that one set to reset after a couple seconds of not being pressed.
I have a button to cast Bolster Courage on the Minstrel, and I have an emergency heal button that has the Captain, Minstrel, Lore Master, and Rune Keeper all cast a heal on the Guardian.
For following I have the follow alias set up (like in the video you mentioned) and set to 9 on the keyboard. And I have 0 set up to assist and hit U (U is the default "interact" key, it will talk to NPCs, gather from a node, loot a mob, etc). I also have a key to toggle mouse broadcasting on and off, I use that to accept and turn in quests on all the toons at once. I run all 6 characters on one computer with two monitors, so I have keys to swap in different characters to the main window.
Its not as easy as WoW to get everything set up, especially with a mixed team, but I'm having a lot of fun.

Yeah thats some good tips from the Keeper, I like how you have a mixed group but set up pretty well. Atm I only three box, sometime I'd like to get another account going, four manning some of the old Moria stuff would be fun, right now I own in FG and GS, with only three. Hunter, Guard, Minstrel or two Hunters, and a Minstrel... I usually don't take my main RK out unless I need a lot more DPS then my hunters can do together lol... I make joke.

Are all of you guys hardware boxing? I am a software boxer, only have 1 machine, though im confident it should be fine with multiple instances.
When you talk about cycling through skills with a keymap... is that setup with ISboxer? I didnt use any keymap stuff in wow, i did most of my stuff through in game macros so im kind of struggling in that department.
What exactly does a keymap do, and how do you use it to make a sequence?
Appreciate any comments, and will also try to dig up some more info on my own (but theres not much lotro info on here =\ ).
Thanks.

For a more serious post, just some tips that I've learned. Always put pots in the same quickslots on all toons, this way you know where they are in a hurry and if you have key maps set you can press one key and dispel that nasty fear or poison that plagues your group. The other thing is do all the book quests, may take a lot of time but when leveling its easy to run out of quests in a an area, due to always being in a fellowship and owning the content. The book quests are also good training grounds for dual boxers.. allowing you to run instances and learn your group. I would suggest going into Uru and CD at least a few times to learn them but also once again learn the group and what to do in oh )$)#@# moments lol.
Crafting wise have each of your toons a different proffesion, this way you can trade mats to the ones that need a given mat, and save inventory space... also you can make bank doing crafting once they are SM in the teir. Jeweler, Tailor and Metalsmith tend to bring home the bread and butter...
Another tip is be prepared for trollers in game.. some people hate boxers due to the Moors, and their lack of being able to kill a dual boxer that one shots them.... I personally don;t go to the moors on more then one toon. But year just know that people will send you tells trying to grief you... it happens.
Any way let me know if you guys have any questions.. we have a lot of knowledge amongst us, especially from the four and six boxers... now thats an art.

I use a G15 keyboard and through that software I make my macros, you can do word strings on it.. so for instance I can bind F2 /follow Enter.......... or any combination of words and commands. I can even put timing intervals between them. Just don't get to complicated with times etc because Turbine does watch for that stuff, where someone is always using a macro that automates most of the skill rotations.... they another wards may think your a bot. I personally haven't heard of any one getting banned for it.
I don't use ISBoxer but am thinking of starting to use it. I use Input Director, its like a software KVM between computers. Theres some info on the forums here about it.

I am software boxing, I run all 6 accounts on one computer with 2 monitors. I use Inner Space and ISBoxer and have window regions set up for my 6 characters, I run my guardian on one monitor and the other 5 on the second monitor. I use the G1 - G6 keys on my G15 keyboard to swap each toon into the main window region, I mostly only need to do this to select a specific reward for quests.
When you talk about cycling through skills with a keymap... is that setup with ISboxer? I didnt use any keymap stuff in wow, i did most of my stuff through in game macros so im kind of struggling in that department.

Yeah all that stuff is set up in ISBoxer. The section is called Key Maps. Basically it allows you to set up a key to broadcast keys to one or more toons, and steps allow multiple presses of the same key to do something different. So for example, I could set up my "1" key to send "1" to all 6 of my toons on the first press (step 1), "2" to my guardian and "3" to all the other toons on the second press (step 2), and so on (step 3 and beyond). You can set the key to reset to step 1 after not being pressed for a set amount of seconds.

The ISBoxer Wiki has some good information on setting up Key Maps, here is a link to the section on Key Maps (http://www.lavishsoft.com/wiki/index.php/ISBoxer:Getting_started#Configuring_Key_Maps).
For a follow macro here is what I do. On all your slaves enter the following chat commands:
/alias ;follow /follow
/shortcut 9 ;follow
Replace the number 9 with the quickslot bar # you want the shortcut to appear in.
In ISBoxer I have a mapped key set up that sends F2 and 9 to all other windows.
